Book Review – Pleasure Unbound by Larissa Ione

Pleasure Unbound: A Demonica Novel (Demonica series Book 1)
I am already loving this series. With just one book, I have bonded with the characters, and I’m as intrigued by the other two brothers, as I was with the main character. I care for every potential developing relationship, and can’t wait to see how they play out.

This book is about a demon underground world that is merged but well hidden within the human world. Demons, in this series, can be a multitude of creatures (from vampires to ghouls, to Incubi to shape-shifters). The Demon world has it’s own set of rules, and laws, and while the different species do not always get along, there is one place where all species are safe and treated without prejudice. Eidolon, a handsome, skilled doctor, and also a “Seminus Demon”, has set up a special hospital (identical to any human hospital – equipped with doctors and nurses, ambulances, and EMT professionals) for the underworld. read more

Trailer for the movie “Daybreakers”coming out in 2010, featuring Ethan Hawke (it’s about a virus that turns people into vampires, and humans being farmed for blood)! Check it out on the Examiner.com Io9 has a great re-cap of last week’s latest True Blood episode (pictures and all). I am so disappointed that we won’t get to see anything new this weekend, but at least they will replay the first 3 episodes… Possibility of “An American Werewolf in London” re-make? (apparently the original director sold the rights to Dimension films). Read more on TheDeadbolt. Hey! Did anyone know there was a show on Lifetime called “Blood Ties”? It’s based on the Blood Books series from Tanya Huff. I had NO idea, just like I had no idea about the Moonlight show. Well, I guess all of this reading is keeping me away from watching TV, but still…how am I missing these vampire shows? I just read about it on ExpressNightOut… Quick video interview with Nikki Reed and Rachelle Lefevre from the Twilight Saga (see it on OntheFlix.com)  The Examiner.com has a trailer for the Guillermo del Toro’s new book series “The Strain” (includes some extremely CREEPY pictures of the vampires – ugh!! What I am reading today…

I just got back from a trade show (and I’m absolutely exhausted)!

I’m glad to finally be reading again (with all the show preparations and then the show itself, my reading time was completely taken over), but I’m happy to be curling up with a good book yet again.

I have just started Larissa Ione’s Demonica series (Book 1 – Pleasure Unbound), and am halfway through the first book. So far so good! While it is not entirely vampires, the supernatural characters are interesting, and while it differs greatly from the Lynsay Sands & Kerrelyn Sparks books I am used to, the style actually reminds me of Jeaniene Frost’s Night Huntress series (half human slayer, with many prejudices against the supernatural, who learns a great deal from befriending someone she once considered her enemy). read more

“Have you all read Melanie Nowaks vampire series? It’s so good! I read it awhile back, it’s called the Almost Human series and there’s 2 parts but I think there are 5 Bks out so far. I loved it! At first I didn’t know if I’d get into it but I did and ended up loving it! I hope some of you do, you will love Cain!!
