Happy New Years Eve everyone!!! I can’t believe a new year is already here, and I’ve still got my enormous TBR list to conquer (YAY for conquering books – that’s my favorite, ’cause it’s so fun!!) π AND! I have a NEW TBR that I’m building from 2016’s pre-orders. OMG there are SO many I’m highly anticipating that I can’t help but think 2016 is going to be a HUGE, book-wise! I’ll post it, soon. π
But 2015 was DARN good, too! In fact… I experimented this year, you guys!!! While I normally stick within the contemporary romance genre (with my past focus especially on new adult angst and my beloved bad boys), I dove into all sorts of new-to-mes, and even jumped back into my old-school love of paranormal, horror AND an autobiography or two!
I’d say for me, this year, for me, was the year of psych-thrillers, and I WANT MORE!!! Here are my 5-star favorites (from all my reads this year – and TWO authors appear twice on this list!!! π ):
To start us off, I have pretty much TWO equal favorites this year, and they are both on opposite ends of the spectrum, mood wise. I found them equally enjoyable, clever, well-written and unputdownable (one was dark and morose, but so moving and enlightening and hopeful) and the other was my version of a perfect love story with just enough “funny” to make it fun, too (and not just romance)…
Badger by C. M. McKennaΒ –Β But if I have to choose my ultimate favorite of this year’s favorites, I’d say it’s this one, simply due to the brilliant writing, the slow burn/unrequited love issues… and the ending. But especially the message I was left with… my realization of “love” (and being loved) in this one was an eye-opener for many. You’ll see what I mean. MyΒ Book Review β Badger by C. M. McKenna
From my review:
“Brilliantly written, unique andΒ uncomfortablyΒ profound and so real in every single personal moment. Every single thought, action, reactionβ¦ honest. Often painful and yet laden in love. Just a different kind of love, I suppose. Harsh and at times emotionally distressing, but hopeful.“
Hollywood Dirt by Alessandra TorreΒ –Β And this would be the other one in my #1 spot of the year, simply due to the fact that had had me laughing, and cheering all the way through. Their clever antics and hijinks, her internal dialog (hilarious!!!) but it’s not a romance comedy. At least not to me. The “funny” and the witty banter came naturally, and I truly believed these characters exist, and they are just that fun, ya know? And best of all, this was pure contemporary romance, with just a touch of angst, “fantasy-style” ’cause she gets to fall in love with a famous actor! I just loved it, all around! MyΒ Book Review β Hollywood Dirt by Alessandra Torre
From my review:
“If youβre looking for just a bit of everything, not too much of anything, wholeheartedly believable (but still total escapism) all tied up in undeniable pro-writing and story telling, this is it!!! I giggled, I chuckled, I cackled, I grumbled and I swooned!“
Jezebel by K. LarsenΒ –Β Psych-thriller/love story extraordinaire!Β Another beautifully written tale of love, told from past to present that warmed the cockles of my heart… only to sucker-punch me with a twist I KNEW was coming, and that I thought I had guessed correctly… and I had. But there was more. SO. MUCH. MORE!!! *gasp* NO. WAY!!! That was my reaction, and this is a MUST READ! Here is myΒ Book Review β Jezebel by K. Larsen
From my review:
“Is this a tragic tear jerker? Is this a psych thriller? *gasp* Will I cry? OMG. My friends. IT IS ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!! My perfect read! And Iβm going to tell yβall now, if you havenβt read it, YOU MUST!!!!! If you like a thrill, if you love a deep, profound story of life (the good and the bad, the fair and the unfair), love and heartache and maybe love again, here it is!!!“
Tight by Alessandra TorreΒ –Β Another psych-thriller that kept me guessing, and I just couldn’t stopguessing. LOL! And I was wrong. I LOVE when I’m wrong. Another HUGE hit from Alessandra Torre (she’s one of my ABSOLUTE FOREVER FAVORITES), that I found clever, and intriguing, and a touch scary. Plus it’s a love story, so even though I thrill over psych-thrillers, I especially thrill if there’s love involved, too! Here’s myΒ Book Review β Tight by Alessandra Torre
From my review:
“THIS BOOK!!!!!!! READ IT!! READ IT!!Β READ IT!!!!Β Psychological thriller/dark/erotica/romance/standalone-with-no-cliffhanger-but-an-incredibly-gasp-worthy-ending extraordinaire! Iβd almost say this is my favorite one yet, in all of the books that Iβve read by this author, and itβs because of the profound message BEHIND the story. The depth of their strength, their will, their motivations. The reason behind it allβ¦ MOVED me.“
Marrow by Tarryn FisherΒ –Β Another psych-thriller that, even though I gave 4.5 stars to, this one is still HUGE in my mind. I remember every single crazy scene, and that INCREDIBLE ending and I want more. I realize sometimes, when it comes to books, even if I give it 4.5 stars (or even some 4 stars – from back when I first fell in love with indie books)… if I can remember it clearly, and I can think “ooooh yeah and that part, and OMG it made me feel *this* way!!!!” months or even years after I read it, it kind of just becomes a 5-star to me, at that point. So this is one of those! Creepy, and dark, and intelligent, and twisty, and totally *gasp-worthy* and a bit…. vigilante, but a bit psycho too. π It’s signature Tarryn Fisher perfection, and I can’t wait for more!! Here’s myΒ Book Review β Marrow by Tarryn Fisher
From my review:
“Clever lady, that Tarryn Fisher. Weaving us in and out of a nightmare. A few nightmares in fact. Tripping us right into a few surprises that totally threw me for a loop. Suddenly I was sure everything I had been thinking or knowing, up to that point, was WRONG. WRONG WRONG WRONG because, come onβ¦ Β *that* reveal? And the circumstances where the reveal wasβ¦ revealed? GAH!!!!“
The Paper Swan by Leylah AttarΒ –Β Dark psych-thriller that had me on the edge of my seat from start to finish!!! Starting off with the heroine being kidnapped, and tortured somewhat (although not as dark as our other dark-reads but definitely terrifying nonetheless), telling such a complex and intriguing story of her childhood, and her adulthood, and just why she’s been kidnapped. What a surprise, and what a shocking delight! Here’s myΒ Book Review β The Paper Swan by Leylah Attar
From my review:
“This author can throw in some turmoil like no other, yet as bad as it gets, itβs never overwhelming to the reader. I think itβs her magical prose that keeps the reader grounded and secure, even when all hell is turning loose.“
Book Review β The Deal by Elle KennedyΒ – AWESOME bad boy, “old-school” delightful, new adult romance angst at it’s finest. And I go “light” on the angst, ’cause while it’s in here, it’s not infuriating (even if I love infuriating). π In this one, it wasn’t necessary ’cause there was enough substance and crushing, and friendship, and slow burn all around! Enough “story”, to keep us hooked! Plus it’s funny as heck and had me giggling like crazy. A few belly-laughs, too!! π Here’s myΒ Book Review β The Deal by Elle Kennedy
From my review:
“I was only 75% into the book when I publicly declared it a 5-star read. The author could have ended it, MID-SENTENCE, mid-angsty-fight moment, with βthe endβ and I still would have been 5-starΒ wooooo-hooingΒ it. YES. I loved it THAT much. Okay sure, had that been the case, I would have amended my review with a note warning yβall about the abrupt endingβ¦ TEE HEE! BUT I just knew, it didnβt matter how she ended it at that point, I was in LOVE with this read.“
Every Wrong Reason by Rachel HigginsonΒ –Β This one has me crying through the whole darn thing… so it deserves a 5-star and a spot in my 2015 favorites ’cause OMG. Seriously? Anything that could have me connecting and emotionally reacting like this, is one that I will never forget. And I know not everyone felt the same way I did (fellow readers saw my ugly cry pics and we’re sure it was going to tear them apart and were surprised when they didn’t actually experience this book on that level). I get it. And yet others did. I guess it just depends. π Either way, I’m certain SO MANY can relate to this love story (or possible end-of-love story), in different ways. Sure she was infuriating… I was at my wits end, but overall? It had me! Here’s myΒ Book Review β Every Wrong Reason by Rachel Higginson
From my review:
“HOLY. MOLY. It took me FOREVER to read thisβ¦ but not because I didnβt love it. But because I could barely read through the darn tears. I criedβ¦ and I cried. And I sobbed. And I sniffledβ¦ and poutedβ¦ and giggled, and βvirtually snuggled her dogβ and sobbed and laughed, and cried and cried and cried and cried. I. AM. EXHAUSTED.
And I started crying practically from the start, and didnβt stop to about ohhβ¦ I dunnoβ¦ 85β¦ 90%? *snort* You guys. Donβt let that scare you. I cried, because I KNOWβ¦. I KNOW EVERY SINGLE PERSON can relate to this book in some way or another.“
The Five Stages of Falling in Love by Rachel HigginsonΒ –Β Another one from this same author!! This one too, is a highly emotional, heartrending story about the end of a relationship that seemed… perfect. That seemed as if it would last forever. But this time, it wasn’t human error, as it was natural causes. The death of her wonderful, loving husband. And the young widow that has to survive without him, and raise her very young children through incredible heartache. And that sweet next door neighbor that sort of comes to her rescue… *sigh* Perfection! Here’s myΒ Book Review β The Five Stages of Falling in Love by Rachel Higginson
From my review:
“IΒ loved this book to death! I cried and cried and smiled right through the tears at times.Β Itβs not a book full of twists and surprisesβ¦ you pretty much already know where youβre going right from the start, and have a good idea where youβll end up. But, itβs the gorgeous journey getting there, with friends, family, past and present, and the beauty of love that comes in ALL forms. Pure unadulterated warmth. I felt comfortably hugged the entire way through.“
The Ground Rules by Roya CarmenΒ –Β Remisncent of our old-school “indie-romance” angst-laden love triangles (yet in this case, it’s a square! Four of ’em!!) this one is fun AND shocking!! LOL! The wealthy couple and the “regular” couple, all gorgeous, all “happily” married but with a special arrangement. Once strangers, now swapping… but in privacy. With approval from the “other”. Yikes!! ‘Cause come on!!! You KNOW jealousy is gonna factor in, you KNOW feelings are going to develop and you just KNOW all hell is gonna break loose. And it does. π Here’s myΒ Book Review β The Ground Rules by Roya Carmen
From my review:
“I found myself delightfully overwhelmed, and it didnβt stop until the end! Pulling every emotion out of me from trepidation to titillation, from infuriation to elation. And then I cried. Good cry or bad cry? Iβm not telling. But I couldnβt help but shed tears as my heart was so immensely affected. And being that this book was entirely from HER POV, that just made it even more affecting. Because every action or thought from the other parties was something that I could only experience from her eyesβ¦ making me second guess everything along with her. Yep. I love me some romantical-angst. Tee hee. I said romantical.Β “
So that is my top 10, and it was a bit of a struggle choosing for this specific list. ‘Cause trust me… I have read some DARN awesome 5 starΒ (<— see them all, here!!)Β and 4.5 starΒ (<— see them all, here!!) reads this year that truly belong on this list of what I consider the best of the best!
But I wanted to streamline it, and really highlight some of my favorite standouts. These are the ones that really stuck with me all year. The ones that I remember specific, unforgettable scenes, or my own intense feelings and reactions, or simply… the whole darn book!
Okay… darn it I can’t help myself! *snort* π I can’t NOT highlight these, too. They were just too awesome, so here’s 5 more. π
These are truly NOT TO BE MISSED MUST-READS (honorable mentions):
- Rush by Emma ScottΒ <— my review! (Emotional and beautiful!!!)
- Wild Reckless by Ginger ScottΒ <— my review! (old school indie feel perfection, PLUS he’s a bully)
- The Man I Love by Suanne LaqueurΒ andΒ Give Me Your Answer True by Suanne LaqueurΒ <— my reviews! RisquΓ© real-lifelike angst & heartache!!
- Written In Red by Anne BishopΒ <— my review!Β Urban fantasy awesomeness, that was endearingly funny!
- Confess by Colleen HooverΒ <— my review!Β Pure Colleen Hoover awesomeness.
And even still… I want to add more. π
So many goodies there. The Deal, Hollywood Dirt, Wild Reckless… However, the one that had me smiling that you enjoyed it the most is Written in Red. It’s not your current “normal”, but the creativity and writing really does put it above the average. π
*SQUEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!*
Okay, now I need to scroll back up and actually read your list. *snort*
LOL!!!! π
Squeee, I’m honored for your mention. HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
Oh my gosh, I remember reading so many of these great books, The Deal, Wild Reckless, Hollywood Dirt, and of course Written in Red. All thanks to you and your blog. HAPPY NEW YEAR! I’m very much looking forward to spending another year reading the great stories you recommend.
And I, you, Fabi. And yours. π
Happy New Year Suanne!!!! π
I’m reading Wild Reckless right now and I’m going NUTS over it!! Perfect throwback to the books I found when I first rediscovered my love of reading. And it’s the first book in a while that has had me anxious to get back to it when I’ve set it down for more than 10 minutes. π
The only ones I haven’t read from your list, but actually have all of them sitting in my library, are Hollywood Dirt, Every Wrong Reason, The Five Stages of Falling in Love (I needed the reminder for those three!), Give Me Your Answer True and The Ground Rules. Although, GMYAT is a will-get-back-to-the-series-soon read, and TGR is unread only because of my aversion to CH’s and unfinished series…but I am itchin’ and twitchin’ to get to that partner-swapping angst!!
Maryse…I’m going to repeat myself here but THANK YOU for all of your work putting lists together every week, for giving us this place to hang out and love on books together, and for sharing your phenomenal talent of book reviewing with us. Puppy pile on Maryse!!!!!
I’m so thrilled and honored! Happy New Year!! xoxox
I follow your choices like bible .
thank you
*happy claps* sooo many amazing books! Gah and there’s Badger and The Paper Swan again! Ok seriously I WILL read them in January, no excuses! Hollywood Dirt, Jezebel, The Deal, and Confess I read thanks to your blog and they were favorites for my year too π
Written in Red is up there ^^^^^^ Look Bev, *sighs* it’s so pretty!
Thank you Maryse for all the hard work you put into this wonderful community! It’s really introduced me to so many spectacular books and some amazing, sometimes a little crazy ;), ladies.
Out of your 10? I’ve read one. One. I’m not even stalking Fabi stalking you. I’m like stalking your mail man.
And agree with everyone. Thank you for all the work you do on the blog and making it so welcoming.
I am super excited to read these, I’ve only read one on your list. π
Ok, first of all, I’m raising my glass of the bubbly. Pepsi, Amy, Pepsi… keep it together over there, it’s not even 7pm NY time. Maryse, girl, we wouldn’t be the Wolf Pack/Bridesmaid bunch without you, so 3 cheers to you, my dear. You’re friggin’ amazing and I don’t think I thank you enough… so thank you again! The amount of work you put into this for all of us… well, *smh* you’re just amazing!
Now, onto your 2015 list. Out of all of the 2015 lists I’ve read so far, I seem to have the most in common with you… which, seems appropriate, being as though it’s your blog I’m currently stalking!
I have read Badger, Jezebel, Paper Swan, The Deal, The Ground Rules, Wild Reckless and Written in Red… so 7 out of 16 listed, not so shabby. I should say, out of the 9 remaining… I had all but 2 on my kindle already, so guess what I’ll be buying myself I bet, haha!
BTW, these comments are cracking me up… following this blog, like the bible *guilty*
Stalking your mail… bwahahah, love it!
Love that the authors are peeking in too *waves* we love you guys, thanks for all of your hard work as well!
Thanks, Maryse.
Thanks to the authors who write great books and took the time to check in with all of us that means allot. And yes I read both of these authors.
Please let Maryse know your plans this year so she puts on her list for all of us.
Thanks to all!
I’ll have to add some of these to my TBR for next year.
Happy new year maryse and co!!! Thanks for all the reading recommendations in 2015! 00.15 here is sunny Glasgow so happy new year when it comes guys!!!
HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone! So happy to be able to celebrate it with you all! May all your dreams and wishes come true in 2016 π
Maryse love your list. The only one I havent read from there is Badger but getting to it soon.
Laura, Happy New Year!!
Nice to see your name pop up. π
Where Can I Get These Books .I Love To Read A Good book.
And yes thank you Maryse for all the work you do. This is my favorite blog and I am so grateful for it. *big hugs and kisses*
Thanks for the list (as always) and Happy New Year!
Happy new year all, hope u r celebrating in style.. Read quite a few on the list, having read The Deal and Wild Reckless over Xmas.
My New Years resolution is to use my good reads account to keep track of my books and ratings. Have started updating, but feels like it is taking me forever but at least I’m revisiting some of the great books I have read.
It is past midnight in Europe so Happy New Year everybody π
Great list Maryse – I have read a few but have most of the rest on my tbr. I will get to them in 2016.
Thanks for all your work and all your recommendations. You are the reason I found the love for reading again a few years ago.
xoxo
Billie all you have to do is click on the book title or book cover in Maryse’s post and the links take you directly to the Amazon book page where you can get a copy.
Happy new year and thanks for showing us all good books .
So, I accidentally read a spoiler for Badger. A BIG spoiler
Awww Heather. π That’s why I don’t read any reviews except Maryse’s until after I’ve finished a book. Even a small spoiler takes away some of the excitement of the story. This is the only safe place to talk about great books without being afraid one will be ruined by spoilerish comments.
Happy New Year Maryse and Co. !!
We’re sweltering through a heat wave (over 100 degrees F at midnight!!) and living at the beach for some relief.
Wonderful list for 2015 Maryse. Thank you so much for your recommendations, reviews and huge book love. It has been wonderful to discover this delightful group of book lovers and get to know you all on this blog.
Can’t wait to see where our most loved authors, and maybe some new undiscovered authors too, take us in 2016. New worlds, new mysteries, new love affairs and maybe even a new book boyfriend or a dom or two. π
Tarryn Fisher’s “F*CK LOVE” is live on Amazon everyone!!!
I <3 anything that woman writes!!
One clicking it now!
π
Happy Reading & Happy New Year!
Hi bev! I have missed u guys I have been popping in and reading all the fun though, now Xmas is over with and the mayhem I will hopefully have more time! And as of yesterday I’m now a whole year older π I will get an excuse of sitting and reading more lol
Happy New Year… Wishing each of you the best!!!
DANG IT… This has not been a good year for me to personally read a lot of books. Honestly, I think I read 25 books/audiobooks the entire year. YUP ~ it has been that bad. My TBR list is huge because of my stalking Maryse and all your comments/recommendations. I have A LOT of catching up to do! Now, the tough decision… Do I just stay with current non-paranormal recommendations OR go back and try to catch up? Then again as I think about it… You are all in the same dilemma one way or the other! As many of you have said, your TBR lists are huge and current desire to read recently published books does not make it any easier for any of you.
AH… Now, that I posted this I feel much better. All I can say is keep up the awesome recommendations and banter. I love it all. CHEERS!
Happy New Year ladies! Great list Maryse! The only one I haven’t read is 5 Stages, but it’s downloaded so there’s that! Lol!
I join in thanking you for all you do and thanks to all of you for making my reading life much more exciting! Don’t know what I’d do without having you all to talk to and share!
F*CK LOVE!!!!
I’m SO beyond ready to have my gut, heart and ovaries punched by a story from that woman…what a perfect way to start the new year. π
Greasy hangover breakfast…check. Blankie fort…check. Manny the stuffed manatee…check. F*ck Love…CHECK!!!!!
Who’s reading it with me???
I AM!!! ME ME ME ME!! First BUDDY READ OF THE YEAR!!! π
Laura, Happy Birthday! Nice way to ring in the new year.
Michelle F if its WiR then definitely go back and catch up. π
I only read a bit over 100 this year. It sounds bad …..but the week or so I read and did not get on the internet I read like 3 books back to back. I may need to make a resolution to spend less time on the net.
I still have not read a Fisher except for Never Never.
I need to finish The Play first but I would love to BR F*ck Love. It’ll be my first Tarryn Fisher book π
Thank you so much for all the time you take with your blog. I wouldn’t dream of starting my day without first checking in here to read the latest updates. You have brought so much “book joy” to my life. I love your recommendations and all the additional insight and recommendations from everyone’s comments. I’m so appreciative of all you do and looking forward to the great reads you’ll find for us in 2016. Cheers to you Maryse!
YAY!!! First buddy read if 2016!!
*grabs Maryse and twirls with her*
Whoa, whoa, whoa…Bev and Anne haven’t read a TF book?!?!? Not a collaboration book but a PURE Tarryn Fisher book??? Oh man…oh MAN. You can pick from a f**ked up love story that is the epitome of angst (Love Me With Lies series) or a straight-up mind f**ck (Mud Vein and Marrow). Get on it, ladies!!!
Maybe a buddy read is what I need to get back In the grove; however, I cannot find it. I can find it on Goodreads… When I click on Amazon it is not coming up. I cannot find it on Amazon either. Can you post the link?
Michele you can find the link in the new Friday post.:-)
UGH – When I search Tarryn Fisher on Amazon under the author and by title… Same thing did not come up. When I read some comments on Goodreads I found a hyperlink that worked. If you are having trouble finding it like I was, the link https://amzn.to/1OvLfLh.
This is my first BR… How does it work?
bev… I do not keep all the emails I receive… Maybe part of the problem. I am just surprised when I searched for it under the author’s name I could not find it.
Thank you for your help!
I’m in! I’ll drop everything for a TF book! Sorry Liam, I’ll have to get back to you later…..
:-0 lol. I don’t blame you. That title combined with that author and a BR is almost more than anyone can resist.
And I really love the cover of FL! So cool!
Michele F, as you have probably noticed we usually have conversations going simultaneously under different post. But my guess is most of the FL talk will be under today’s Friday deals post. A BR is pretty laid back, just no spoilers. That would give Amy and Maryse a panic attack, lol. If you do say something that may be a bit of one give plenty of warning. Otherwise just comment on what you feel as you read. π
bev… Thanks for the explaination. Very helpful advice!!!!
Bev is right…spoilers make me go from calm to freaking the freak out in 0.7 seconds flat.
And it’s not pretty when I freak out. Even those who admittedly like to get me riled up *side-eyes Jean* know not to go THERE. π
Yay! Jean and Michelle F are in! π
I really do love when you freak out Amy!
*snort* Glad I can be of service, Jean. π
Lol! Ok I just realized I have read Tarryn Fisher before! I read The Opportunist series in 2015 duh! LMAO
OK… Since I have been a stalker and now a new comer. Fill me in on Jean’s ‘freak outs’.
Amy freaks out. It’s kinda awesome because she’ll go on a rant and you can almost hear the sputtering in her words.
Buddy Read!! Count me in. Wow and Tarryn Fisher to start the year off. We’re really jumping in the deep end then! Ready for a gut punch!!
But first…..this isn’t some three part, cliff hanger ridden mind f@$&*ery is it???
Maryse, I have read just about every book on this list, all thanks to your rec’s. The only one I haven’t quite got the nerve up to read is Marrow. π Also, waiting until book 3 is released before starting The Ground Rules.
Thanks for all your hard work with these lists and book recs. I would be lost without you!!
Thanks Tessa…I just “sputtered” my tea all over my iPad when I read your comment, LOL!
π Oops?
Lisa ~ from what I can tell F*UCK LOVE is a standalone. I do not knowingly read books with cliffhangers.
Cheryl ~ WTH! The Ground Rules is a trilogy? It says series, not trilogy next to the title on Amazon. I almost purchased it because I thought it was complete.
Since a lot of authors do not disclose whether it is a standalone, series of standalones, cliffhangers, etc. how do you figure it out before reading the book without skimming the reviews?
Glad I asked about how the BR works. I do not want any of you ladies ranting, ‘sputtering’ tea on their iPads or any of the other things I am not aware of yet. I.definitely do not want any peanuts thrown at me either… Especially, before I even get started. Thanks for the heads up!
Peanuts are just recs. Like
*throws Captive Prince peanuts at MichelleS & Tessa*
Who wrote it? I went looking for it!
Tessa, I pricey but maybe sale soon with third coming out. I got it when indie I think. Then it was picked up.
https://www.amazon.com/Captive-Prince-Book-One-Trilogy/dp/0425274268/ref=tmm_pap_swatch_0?_encoding=UTF8&qid=&sr=
Thanks Michele F. Im not good with cliff hangers unless I have the entire series ready to read…..hence my delay in reading The Ground Rules. That is how I’ve managed any series or trilogy, like Tarryn’s Love Me With Lies books….back to back. Not great with delayed gratification π
C S Pacat…..another great Aussie author Bev. Havent read this series but have noted the hype.
Thank you so much for reading my books!! I feel so honored to be on your list!
I’m SO excited to be on your list twice!! Glad you enjoyed my books!! Thank you so much for everything!! Yay!!
Maureen… it is absolutely MY pleasure and you have absolutely mad my day with your sweet comment. Our fellow reading crew here has AWESOME taste in books, and I’m so glad you’re part of our crew!!!
<3 π
Rachel!! I love your books, and am THRILLED I could put two of ’em on here. I can’t wait for more!!!
Wow… I’m reading all of these comments and each and every one of you guys are making my heart BEAM!!!!
I so LOVE our group!!!
Bev, I avoid M/M books. I’ve nothing against it, but they usually aren’t that interesting to me. *shrugs* There have been exceptions, but very few. I’m the same with F/F. Actually F/F doesn’t even have an exception. I know. I’m weird.
Just popping in to wish Maryse and everyone, a very Happy New Year x
Thanks for the list Maryse. I just finished “Every Wrong Reason” and all I can say is “Wow” that was some journey the author took me on. I really loved it and now I can’t wait to read ” The Five Stages of falling in love”, right after “Sweet Soul” by Tillie Cole – I didn’t know it was out – how did I miss it? Lol.
I have the Badger as well but haven’t read it yet but it right up there in my TBR list…
Bev – *** catches peanuts *** – Captive Prince? Where have I been? How did I miss this Trilogy? I just looked it up. Holy Batman – sounds amazing. You read the trilogy? And liked it? Why do you always recommend the expensive books? I’ll download a sample as soon as I am done with my current read.
MichelleS, Only the first two books. The third comes out the beginning of Feb. But I need to re read and refresh my memory beforehand. If you read them you’ll see why. When I bought them they were self pub and I’m sure a lot less. A lot. The author name even changed after they were re released. I’m a bit nervous about when I unarchive (is that a word?) them after all the changes. Fabi, I, & maybe Michelle & Lisa are reading the first one after the Score. I think that is were we settled. Knock on wood that maybe they will go on sale before the release of the third.
Try the sample let me know what you think.
Yes Michelle S….I’m reading Forget and Blur (NA Alcorn) to fill the time before The Score comes out and then I’m BRing the Captive Prince series.
Yes Michelle S….I’m reading Forget and Blur (NA Alcorn) to fill the time before The Score comes out and then I’m BRing the Captive Prince series. Join us.
Omg I love your list and so excited that I have read quite a few of them. One of my New Years’s resolutions is to read your top 10!! Lol!! Just finished reading Tight!!! My heart was pounding towards the end. I knew I couldn’t even try to go to bed until I was done!!! Love those kinds of books!!! Reading Hollywood Dirt next!!!
Yay Lisa!!!! π Alessandra Torre is in my top 5 authors. Almost everything I have read from her has been unforgettable and intense and so fun to read!! π
Thanks for this list (as always)! Happy New Year!
Oh my gosh, thank you so so much, Maryse. I’m so honored! Thank you for loving Wild Reckless so <3 Happy new year to you!
It was TOO awesome, Ginger. I TRULY loved it. π
So excited to read a few books I haven’t read from your list! I’m reading Marrow now. I know… shameful. And I LOVE Tarryn Fisher!
It’s 2017 and I still haven’t read The Paper Swan. Gotta catch up soon! Waiting for your 2016’s best book list!
