Book Review – Destined for an Early Grave by Jeaniene Frost
Destined for an Early Grave
I was lucky enough to find this book one day early. I LOVED this book! Loved it! I have read a ton of books that have somewhat entertained me lately, but this one kept me wide awake until the wee hours of the morning, and then I woke up again a few hours later (purposely) to read some more before work!
It sucked me in quickly, and I was once again, right at home with Cat & Bones and the crew (despite it having been many months since the last book in the series). I wondered if I would have any difficulties enjoying the action packed pace, again (as opposed to all the sugary vampire romance I’ve found myself reading lately). Not only did I get right in into it, I think I simply prefer this style. While the romantic tension is always an important part of this series, the lover’s turmoil is never “eye rollingly bad” (their “issues” always seem quite authentic and valid).
Book Review – Dark Prince by Christine Feehan
Mikhail’s eyes darkened, burned. “You do not understand. You are my life. My heart. There is no Mikhail without Raven.”
Dark Prince: Author’s Cut Special Edition (Dark Series)
This book was a good start to what appears to be a popular series. This series is deeply romantic, almost to an obsessive level. I’ll admit, it is hard to read each novel all in one sitting (they are so intensely passionate, that I needed to trudge back to reality every once in a while for a breather). These “breaks” were short lived, however, as I found myself quickly craving more of the current book, and escaping back into the Carpathian way of life. While reading this series, you will find yourself quite disturbed at first, at the Carpathian male’s demeanor towards “HIS” female, but as his emotions start taking shape, so does his softer side.
What I am reading tonight…
Okay, I am embarrassed to admit to all of you Vampire/Paranormal die-hards out there, that I have JUST started the Christine Feehan “Dark” series. Yes, I am SO behind the times, and my upcoming reviews of these books will probably be unnecessary, but since I always feel the need to “discuss” what I’ve just read, you’ll all have to bear with me 😉
Oh my goodness are these books INTENSE or what??? I have just finished book one, and was simply consumed with the emotional intensity of the couple in question. Whoa! No wonder women are enraptured with with these books. I’ve NEVER heard a *mortal* man speak that way. Boy could Christine give a few of our men some great lessons in love (*giggle* – my husband would roll his eyes big time right now…)
Book Review – Bloody Good by Georgia Evans
During my latest business trip out of town, I decided to take my newest book “Bloody Good” with me for the weekend. I figured, during my downtime in the hotel room. I would get a chance to immerse myself in a style of book that I do not normally read. You know me, addicted to vampire love, and all…
It was a great choice! After arriving at my hotel on Friday evening and treating myself to a great dinner in Pensacola (Zea’s Louisiana-style cooking for anyone who wants to try it – yummy!) I got a drink from the bar downstairs and came back to my room to curl up for the night with a few new characters.
