Hey! I feel like itβs been a little while since Iβve popped in. Busy summer here, Iβve only just started picking my book back up to read- I missed it! Iβm reading Book Lovers and am about halfway through. Smiling and laughing my way through. π I had the hardest time choosing my book of the month this month too, so many good choices, but ultimately went with First Born by Will Dean and Ruth Wareβs The It Girl. I shouldβve only got one because my backlist is piling up big time, but I was weak! π Currently watching The Rookie on Hulu and The Summer I Turned Pretty on Prime (team Jeremiah!) and canβt wait to start Only Murders in the Building again and Stranger Things.
On the home front, the porch is complete, minus caulking, but I spent a long time painting beams and posts recently and sheβs a beaut! I added a rug and couch currently, but would like to add a couple one seater rockers in the future. We finished painting the garage door last night and next up is landscaping. Weβre doing rock for sure, no more mulching, and I found a local company who you can send in your photos and they graphic design in some plants for you, free of charge, they just ask that you purchase the plants from them. And I got my pictures back and theyβre beautiful. Better than I could imagine, because that was super overwhelming to me, a gardener I am not. I just am worried about spacing and whether it may be too much, more so in the front. Iβll have to math, ugh. But there are mr. bowling balls, spilled wine weigalas, an autumn joy sedum, and dwarf fountain grass. I love the color the sedum and weigalas bring in. And on the one side, more dwarf fountain grass, a lythrum, and hostas. On the other, Ruby slipper oakleaf hydrangeas and coral bells. On my own, I could really only conjure up the fountain grass. So, I hope to get it all together in the next week or so. Weβve not had rain in so long, itβs definitely going to require a ton of watering with the heat.
Great to get your news Tasha! I loved Book Lovers as well.
Hey, Mony! Glad you loved it. Great pool side read.
I only wish I could landscape my yard!! Jealous!! But seriously my 15yr old is on a travel baseball team and we are gone so much I donβt even have time to cut the grass! I am a hardcore Audible listener because of so much traveling for the games. We are home this weekend for the fourth but itβs raining every dayβ¦. Good luck with everything and donβt forget to take time for yourself or you will burn yourself out!β€οΈ
Happy 4th of July my friend!!!
Oh man, Iβve heard how much traveling is involved in travel teams- I totally get it! Glad youβve found time to read during all that traveling. Itβs definitely stressful trying to do so much work with so many littles. My 3 are on the summer swim team so Iβm at the pool every day and Iβve got babysitting kids and I donβt do too much physical work so I am whooped and so sore. Definitely feeling overwhelmed and am ready to plan a weekend change of scenery (sans kids). But, happy to know with stone, Iβm done. No more mulching, no hedging. I did end up getting all the plants, itβs looking great.
it is so satisfying to see your progress come together!!! I just got to weed my flower bed today after picking up all the firework trash from yesterday! That will be all I can do because we leave again for another baseball tournament starting 7/7- 7/10 so tomorrow will be a pack day. I love some baseball but my son is a hotel room homebodyβ¦. Ughβ¦ boringβ¦π€·ββοΈπ€£
Oh I would love the landscaping service. Some of my neighbors have the most beautiful front yards with lush plants and flowers, but I just don’t really know how to replicate it.
I didnβt know what to do either, so was thrilled that I had a visual with the kind people at the nursery. Seriously wouldnβt have been able to do it without them. And help from my mother in law. Sheβs great at this kind of thing.
