- Daisy Jones & The Six: A Novel by Taylor Jenkins Reid <— SALE ALERT!! This one made a few of our Best of 2019 lists, it’s by one of our fav authors and it’s on SALE!!! 😀
Michele G: Just finished “listening” to the audiobook for Daisy Jones & the Six yesterday. (I’m apologizing to those of you who I’m on FB & GR with…just ignore me because I’ve already spewed my incessant love for all things DJATS there) I read an ARC of it in January and adored it! But can I just say that this audiobook is on a whole different level — it is unbelievably amazing!
Lisa: anyone on the fence about Daisy Jones, I highly recommend it. I loved the style it was written in – and I’m not much of a rock star storyline reader, but found myself engrossed.
Jen C: Did you guys see – Daisy Jones & The Six by Taylor Jenkins Reid is the March Pick for Reese Witherspoon’s Hello Sunshine bookclub!? AND they’re turning it into a TV show!! :O :O
Denise: I’ve read the book and listened to the audio. Loved both, but the audio was absolutely freeking fantastic.
Robin: This was also a great book on audible. Probably the best I’ve listened to. The narrators (there are a few) did an exceptional job.
Teri: CLICK! This is going to start off my new year and new decade! Woo Hoo!!!
Maryse: At this price, I one-clicked it, and added on the audiobook too (it’s also discounted if you get it at the same time as this Deal of the day). YAY ME!! SQUEEEEE!!!!
- Dragonkin Bundle Books 1-4 (Dragon Kin) AND Dragonkin Bundle Books 5-9 (Dragon Kin) by G.A. Aiken <— SERIES BOOK BUNDLES ALERT!!
MichelleS: G.A. Aiken is Shelly Laurenston and I LOVE her style.
Christine: Re: GI AIKEN Dragon Series Books A MUST read…Awesome series…will have you laughing out loud
Maria: …even funnier are her Dragon Kin books by her alter ego G.A. Aiken. I’m talking fall-off-the-couch laughing here, especially the further you get into the series. The family interactions remind me of the Bridgertons by Julia Quinn, only a little more violent and with dragon shapeshifters instead of English nobility. 😉
MH: G.A. Aiken/Shelly Laurenston (same person – paranormal genre w/hot guys/shifters, enough angst and hilarity)
- Irresistible (Cloverleigh Farms Book 1) by Melanie Harlow <— MELANIE HARLOW SALE ALERT!! He’s a single dad…
Linda: Loved Irresistible by Melanie Harlow!! Love her writing.
Rae: Check out Melanie Harlow’s Cloverleigh Farm Series. Both available in UK on KU.

I’m first!!! Yayyyy!
Oh that is the ultimate glitter sprinkle!!!! Thank you Grey!!!
Holy moly, lemon cannoli…I can’t believe it’s New Year’s Eve already. 😳😳. Every year it seems to go faster and faster. My head is spinning already with all the changes that 2020 will bring. I hope it brings all good things to all of you.
My plans for the day…finish and get my daughter registered for college. Make my fave book list for 2019. Get my Pick-for-Me list ready for tomorrow!!! *Squee* *tosses more glitter* the challenge /buddy read threads are up for 2020 on the Goodreads site. Exciting stuff!
Happy New Year to All! ♥️🎉
I can’t WAIT to see your Best Of 2019 List, Grey!
Nancy just sent me hers so I’ll be posting that one tomorrow.
I need to do my Best of 2019 list too. I’ve got some awesome books to put on it this year, and I think it’ll be so much different from my usual mostly-romance list.
Mine too!!! I can’t wait to see!
Thanks for reminding me. I need to get my pick for me list done as well. I don’t even think I signed up yet! GAH! Too much going on at all times!
I hope you all have a wonderful New Years. That 2020 is filled with good health, peace, and lots of laughter is my wish for all of you. And of course good stories and the time to enjoy them.
A new release I’m interested in is Love Lettering by Kate Clayborn. The premise sounds fun and I like when a main character has a more unique job.
Maryse, let me know if you want to keep watching My Ahjussi in the New Year. If not I will carry on with my re watch. Also, it is ok if you dont want to..I promise.
I do!!! Not done yet as I’m still thinking about it and wondering where it’s going.
Happy New Year! I’m still working on my 2019 Faves list but should have it to you within the next few days! Thank you for a great year, Maryse!!
YAY Michele G!
I’m working on mine too. 🙂 I can’t wait to see your choices.
Happy New Year!!! 🥳
I just got back from Star Wars and I LOVED it. Unlike Maryse, I have seen all the movies. 😉 In fact, Han Solo was one of my first crushes when I was little.
I too need to work on my “best of” list. Spoiler alert: mine are all Contemporary Romance! 🥰
Oh, he was my crush too, Leslie! Also in Raiders of the Lost Ark, which we saw no less than 10 times!
Happy New Year all!!! I’m trying to wrassle a toddler to sleep while everyone else parties.
I feel like I should feel bad for you but I think I’d just go to bed myself or crawl in bed next to him and read instead of going back out to party. But I’m really boring.
I’m not complaining about not being at the party. I’m not a partier either. Just wrasslin the toddler. I do sleep with him. Here, he still wasn’t out till midnight. I wish I could put him in a crib, read, and snack. Would be less exhausting and more enjoyable.
I hope he finally fell asleep, but that you got in some sweet baby cuddles and kisses for the New Year and then got to go party with the adults. Partied like it was 2019.
He fell asleep right at midnight. I’m so happy to be home!! My kitten decided to leave me a shattered glass jar of decorative stuff and an upturned thyme plant on the floor. He was so proud of himself. 🤣 I’m really happy to be back on schedule though and my first project tomorrow will be taking the Christmas trees and decorations down. Then, just enjoying the rest of break with my kids.
Wow I love the sound of this. It almost makes me calmer. Just a nice breather and YOUR tranquil time for you back home and your kids. Awwwwww!!! Very sweet!!!
Fingers crossed it is peace and tranquility. As much as it can be! 🤞🏻
Ok, I know many do not do resolutions and such, but since it quiet im going to amuse myself.
1. How do you feel going into 2020?
2. If you chose 1 word to be a mantra or guide for 2020?
3. If at some point you have a chance to drop everything and hop on a plane where are you going? Are you going?
4. Song starting off your New Year?
5. A character you could use as inspiration?
6. And then just because who was the swooniest fictional couple you met in 2019?
1. How do you feel going into 2020? Excited. Calm. Crazy that I’m both, but that’s exactly how I feel. Just… nice.
2. If you chose 1 word to be a mantra or guide for 2020? Be happy. Gratitude. Okay so that’s two. 😉
3. If at some point you have a chance to drop everything and hop on a plane where are you going? Are you going? Europe. Then I’ll take the train all through it. 🙂
4. Song starting off your New Year? Er… my mind is absolutely music-less at the moment. LOL!!! I’d say my bird singing his head off right now. Not the prettiest-voiced singer in the world, but I’ll take it ’cause it means he’s happy. And that makes me happy. 🙂
5. A character you could use as inspiration? Mine is not so much a character but a person. Elizabeth Gilbert ’cause I’m listening to her audiobook “Big Magic” and she’s very inspiring and open and someone I love listening to.
6. And then just because who was the swooniest fictional couple you met in 2019? A toss up between Jim and Thea (Five Minute Life) and Olivia and James (Perfect Strangers)
I remember the buzz around Big Magic when it came out bit never really paid attention. Was it about creativity?
Oh, I want to take a train trip so bad! You, Tessa, and I should hop on one go through the Highlands. Say, hey to Nessie.
I would LOVE that.
And yes Bev, it’s about finding and enjoying your creativity (no matter “what” that version of creativity is). It’s a very “YOU BE YOU” and don’t worry about ANYTHING else (anyone else’s tastes, critics, fans… everything you create, you create for yourself, because it makes YOU happy. Brings you joy.)
Let the chips fall where they may after, but no matter what, DO your best not to ever stifle yourself or your creativity for others. Even if you can only fit your creativity in bits of time between work, or early in the morning before everyone wakes up.
No excuses as to why you CAN’T create what you love or what you have a passion for. What you’re in the mood for. Just DO IT. ANYTIME you can. It’s good for your soul, your mental health, your happiness. And the more you create what you love, the better you get, so don’t even let “inexperience” stand in your way.
WE WILL ALL mess things up or “fail” if you will, but we will ALWAYS grow and get better no matter what we’re into. And to follow that nudge. You have that urge, that idea, that inspiration? CREATE IT while that urge is there. Strike while it’s hot for the truest version of your creation.
Okay so that’s pretty much my review, in the grand scheme of things. LOL!! I only have half an hour left to listen to, and I LOVE it.
I was wondering how’d I’d be able to relay what I listened to without having my highlights and quotes to include in my review, but apparently, I’ve retained the gist of it all pretty well.
P.S. It’s a MUST read. Or even better, a must-listen. I LOVE her, her personality and her wonderful voice.
1. How do you feel going into 2020? Sappy. There’s a lot of changes ahead for my family in 2020. My daughter will be graduating high school…and just, wow. 2020? How did that happen… weren’t we just worried about Y2k?
2. If you chose 1 word to be a mantra or guide for 2020? Breathe
3. If at some point you have a chance to drop everything and hop on a plane where are you going? Are you going? Hawaii. Yes.
4. Song starting off your New Year? Good as Hell by Lizzo
5. A character you could use as inspiration? Hermione Granger
6. And then just because who was the swooniest fictional couple you met in 2019? Jude and Cardan… The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King (The Folk of the Air #1 and #2) by Holly Black
I love all of your words or mantras. Every one is exactly my choice.
Hermione!
Yes, when the world was going to come to a screeching halt ….*sigh* those were the days.
I hope you and your daughter both enjoy this next stage.
*happy dance* I’m so glad you liked that series! The end was perfect. 🙂
1. How do you feel going into 2020? Light and tentatively hopeful. This past decade I met grief and shook its hand a few times, I think it is time to say goodbye.
2. If you chose 1 word to be a mantra or guide for 2020? Motivation.
3. If at some point you have a chance to drop everything and hop on a plane where are you going? Are you going? I hope I would but I tend to say No more often than yes. I hope it leads me to London.
4. Song starting off your New Year? Raspberry Beret. I keep putting it on repeat.
5. A character you could use as inspiration? Ji an from My Ahjussi for getting shit done. Girl is unstoppable. Dan yi from Romance is a Bonus Book who found such happiness in her job. She went in each day determined to do well and happy to do it.
6. And then just because who was the swooniest fictional couple you met in 2019? Ok, you know I didnt read in 2019 that’s why my characters all come from dramas. This drama Just Between Lovers has one of my favorite heroes and hero/heroine couples. They have a childhood tragedy in common and then meet as adults. She is so strong that iron fist in a velvet glove. He at first seems damaged and a bit destructive, towards himself, but is the biggest marshmallow inside, especially towards the women in his life and his friend who has delays. The way he falls for and sees her as the best thing ever just …..gah! One of my favorite heroes.
1. How do you feel going into 2020? Okey Dokey 😛
2. If you chose 1 word to be a mantra or guide for 2020? Healthy
3. If at some point you have a chance to drop everything and hop on a plane where are you going? Are you going? LONDON!
4. Song starting off your New Year? Gah, I don’t know. Right now music is doing that whisper high note crap which means I can’t hear what’s being sung. My hearing impairment is strongest in the high register and this whisper sing is super frustrating. I thought we got rid of that crap in the late 90s!
5. A character you could use as inspiration? Everleigh from Kill the Queen by Jennifer Estep. Gah, her growing into who she is is so fun to read. That’s what I love the most. I so need to read Crown of Shards. (March, 2020! An expensive month)
6. And then just because who was the swooniest fictional couple you met in 2019? I know anyone who reads this is going to be questioning it, but Lana and Max from Year One by Nora Roberts. They worked so well together and survive so well, and was a great partnership.
I hope 2020 brings some songs to you. I haven’t been keeping up with popular western music in a long time. I mean I’m listening to kpop or Prince lately. But I might change that this year.
I think when characters click together and become a unit can be very swoony.
1. How do you feel going into 2020? content
2. If you chose 1 word to be a mantra or guide for 2020? discipline
3. If at some point you have a chance to drop everything and hop on a plane where are you going? Are you going? The Netherlands, France, and Belgium. Yes, going next month actually!
4. Song starting off your New Year? I have “All I Have to Do is Dream” by the Everly Brothers stuck in my head from the party last night so I guess that’s it!
5. A character you could use as inspiration? Frances Mayes from Under the Tuscan Sun
6. And then just because who was the swooniest fictional couple you met in 2019? #milas 😍😍😍
Frances Mayes ….your not coming back from your trip are you? Your going to find some beautiful French home and start teasing us with your new imperfectly perfect style and how you stay so thin by eating bread and chocolate everyday.
LOL!! Actually one of the places we’re going is Haarlem, about 20 minutes from Amsterdam, which is where the hubs wants to retire. So it’s possible!
Don’t forget Prime 1st reads this month!! We get 2…I got Thief River Falls and Last Day. ☺️
I got Last Day and When I Was You. 😀
I was eyeing that one too! Sounded like a Lifetime movie or something.
1. How do you feel going into 2020? Exhausted, but also full of possibilities. Hopeful for peace between siblings. PLEASE!
2. If you chose 1 word to be a mantra or guide for 2020? Balance
3. If at some point you have a chance to drop everything and hop on a plane where are you going? Are you going? Ireland. Only in books.
4. Song starting off your New Year? I’ve had Eminem’s Lose Yourself stuck in my head for days. Seems fitting.
5. A character you could use as inspiration? Ummm, Justin Halpern’s Dad? He’s funny, loves his kids very much and vise versa he’s wise and a no bullsnitter.
6. And then just because who was the swooniest fictional couple you met in 2019 I like lead up, tension, possibility, mystery, push and pull, so not a couple per se, but I want to go with Sunshine Vicram and Levi Ravinder.
1. How do you feel going into 2020? Positive
2. If you chose 1 word to be a mantra or guide for 2020? Hope
3. If at some point you have a chance to drop everything and hop on a plane where are you going? Are you going?
London. Yeah, I want to go in 2020. I was there about 3 years ago and fell in love with the place but only had a short visit. Now I want to go back to visit all of the museums, galleries and historic palaces I missed last time LOL
4. Song starting off your New Year?
I’ve been listening to sad songs lately like Adele’s Someone Like You just cos I like them. Maybe a song for the new year would be something like Don’t Worry Be Happy. Ha ha ha. I’m really a glass half full kinda girl, even though I like wallowing in sad songs sometimes.
5. A character you could use as inspiration?
Someone said Hermione Granger. I’m gonna be a copycat and say same. I like her courage and feistiness.
6. And then just because who was the swooniest fictional couple you met in 2019?
West Ravenel (rawr) and Phoebe, Lady Clare, from Devil’s Daughter by Lisa Kleypas. A beautiful love story set in Victorian England. *swoon*
I love a sad song Jan.
I signed up for book of the month just so I could get The Sun Down Motel by Simone St James early. I can’t wait anymore, it’s one of my most anticipated reads for 2020 and it’s just waving in my face in every pop up ad. Anyone have book of the month? I don’t even know how it works, but Yay! My book is on its way. 😂
This looks good, Tasha. I’m looking forward to hearing what you think about it.
