THREE THINGS:
2.) I had the most decadent grilled cheese (that had Boar’s Head turkey, bacon and various melty gooey cheeses – tons!!) yesterday. But!! we used “Keto Bread” for it, so it was fatty and delicious, but not carb-y at all. FAN. FREAKING. TASTIC!
3.) I’ve started the latest brand new season of Ozark, but only the first episode yet. I need to marathon-watch that one soon!
4.) It was in the 20s – at night/early morning) and in the 30s pretty much all weekend. Here. In FLORIDA!!! GASP!!!

1. I had breakfast with my son and my fiance at a super-cute local cafe on Saturday morning and it was delicious! I got off my low-carb lifestyle long enough to enjoy the biscuit french toast with marscapone cream, lemon zest, honey, and then topped with a blueberry compote. It was AMAZING!
2. We’re bracing for a major winter storm here in the Midwest (Indiana). They’re calling for anywhere from 8-12 inches of snow and possible ice. The grocery stores are a madhouse! We’ve barely gotten any snow this season and just last week I was wishing for a good snow storm and here it comes!
3. The next book in the Legacy of the Nine Realms Series, Crown of Chaos, by Amelia Hutchins releases on February 2!!!!!!! It’s up for preorder now and I am so excited! And it’s 600+ pages! Just in time for a possible snow day or two!

1. I cancelled our plans for SXSW this year and booked a return trip to Isla Mujeres instead and I cannot wait! Grilled octopus, here I come!…in April :/
2. I made homemade chicken bone broth yesterday and I’m excited to see how it turned out. I still have to scrape off the fat and jar. I’ve also been making my own mayo (for Whole30) and don’t think I’ll ever go back to store bought.
3. I finished Emily in Paris and chose Dexter for my new treadmill show. I’m only one episode in so far but I hope it picks up the pace a little. 50 minutes is a long time on that thing!
Stick with Dexter. It gets really good.

Oooooh I can’t do octopus or anything of the like. I want to love it. I love ceviche but anytime calamari comes around I try it, and back off…
Octopus is a lot more tender than calamari. I can take or leave calamari, but perfectly grilled (or even roasted) octopus is like butter. I prefer it to lobster by a long shot! Overcooked octopus, not so much–that would be enough to turn anyone off of it. I was lucky that my first taste was fantastic.
I’ve always heard great things about homemade mayo, but have never made it myself. Sounds like I really need to try it!
Dexter definitely starts out slow, but picks up pace and gets much better! Just hang in there!

1.) I need a new TV show binge. I watched Shitt’s Creek (best ever!!!) and Dexter New Blood (whoa) and Bridgertons (sigh). I watch the same things I read: fantasy, romance, suspense, comedy.
2.) It’s supposed to snow here in Texas on Thursday, so I need some “snow day” mojo, please. I want a day to read and drink hot chocolate.
3.) I have been making these “cleanse smoothies”, and can’t believe how much veg and fruit you can pack into a glass. Should have done this a long time ago. Using Pinterest for recipes.
Have you watched Marvelous Mrs. Maisel or Killing Eve? The new and last season of KE comes out this year. Also, on the comedy side, Ted Lasso on Apple TV. Give it, as well as MMM, a couple episodes before you decide

Archive 81 is a great mystery/suspense show! I binged it in one day. And I love Schitt’s Creek! Everyone needs a David in their lives! 🙂

Hubs and I have been watching Dead Wind series on Netflix. It’s from Finland! A murder mystery/police procedural that just kept getting better as the series went on. We ended up really liking series 1 and plan to watch series 2. Unless you can speak Finnish (I can’t) you do have to read the subtitles though, which I know some people don’t like doing. It’s a really well made series though.
I don’t mind subtitles. I will check it out!
I recently finished “Darling Venom”, by Parker Huntington. It’s KU, so I gave it a try. I’m glad I did. The cover makes you think it’s going to be some cheesy romance. It’s absolutely not. It’s a complicated story of love and loss and trying to find your way in the aftermath. There’s a sister relationship that had me interested. A “his brother” relationship. Then there’s “his dad”…. it’s just a really great read. Don’t judge this book by it’s cover.
I just finished it as well, so good. I almost passed on it too. It was so much deeper than I expected
