HAPPY MONDAY & I hope everyone is doing well, and feeling well. It’s time for another early birds list. I’ll be adding more to it as I find ’em. π My weekend has been extremely calm in the grand scheme of things, (mostly reading, tons of cooking!! And snuggling with my dogs).
Three things:
1.) I watched the movie “1917” this weekend and it’s so VERY good. Heartfelt in the grand scheme of things, and crazy to think soldiers had to go through things like that. That poor soldier… what he went through to get that message to them. Unreal and terrifying. I was on the edge of my seat, and my heart was aching at times.
2.) I still don’t have cheese. I still really want cheese. π
3.) I’m still reading Pretty Girls and finally halfway through it. It’s good, but with everything that’s going on right now and how distracted I am with reading the news, this book was hard to get into at first. Especially because every few chapters is from a different person’s POV (and it doesn’t indicate that at the beginning of the chapter), so it’s pretty choppy reading at first. You think you’re continuing the story when suddenly you realize you’re starting over again with someone new. And so I’d have to start all over trying to learn who’s who, and is this someone I already know yet, or this a new one? They have all finally converged at some point, but it’s still a lot of back and forth between the characters. I’m sure the author’s decision to start the book off this way is going to end up being really clever, but it’s hard to get into a book with all that constant switch-up. P.S. It’s still super-bargain priced right now! π
P.S. ALSO STILL ONΒ βββ TWO FREE MONTHS KINDLE UNLIMITED DEAL!!! <β If you havenβt tried it yet, nowβs your chance. π²πππ

1917 sounds good, Iβd like to watch it too at some point! Itβs super hard for me to get into anything right now as well, I finally called it and watched stuff whenever I could instead of trying. And then, last night, I did it! I picked up All the Stars and Teeth and I read! Iβm really liking it. I think it helps that itβs a different world. Would love to read more, but I start school again today. π
I see all these people cleaning closets, organizing, sewing and doing big craft projects, big yard work, etc. and Iβm at a point where if I had the time, I wouldnβt do it. Iβve always thought I have a never ending list and if the time came, Iβd never be bored. The time is here now and I donβt wanna. π€£ππ
Go with your flow Tasha. π If it doesn’t excite you, thrill you, or if it isn’t an absolute necessity that must be done, choose something else that does make you happy.
Agree with Maryse. I keep making plans and do want to do them, but times are weird do what feels good. After I commented her I went back to sleep until 1030, lol. Right now I’d usually already be at work for 4 hours.
Tasha–my youngest son watched it and he loved it. Though he loves to watch/study/collect anything to do with WWI and WWII. Hubs and I plan to watch it too. Just haven’t had time yet.
I’m not sure I have 3 things, except I definitely have 3 things (and more) that I’m out of that I need to buy when I go to the store.
1. I keep losing track of what day it is and it is only going into the 3rd week.
2. My sleep schedule is completely turned upside down right now.
3. March is the slowest month ever. It just goes on and on.
Maryse do you have plans to ever go grocery shopping again? Apparently people have started buying all the baby chicks up , maybe you could by a calf and start making your own cheese.
March does seem to be dragging, but Iβm not ready for April yet either. Aprilβs all messed up now too. We had a whole week of dental cleanings and orthodontics and theyβve closed so Iβm not sure where that stands. Of course Easter and we were supposed to start tball. Karate. Theyβre actually taking payments to make a private online group for April to do lessons. Iβm not sure how thatβll go. Heβs only been in it a month n a half and heβs 5. Kind of needed a professionalβs help. Lol
I WISH! I live in a deed restricted community, and I’m pretty sure chickens or farm animals of any sort is prohibited. LOL!
Though how I would LOVE to have some personal milk and egg makers in my yard. π
1. I was supposed to do curbside grocery pickup today but the store where I had it scheduled was recently visited by a coronavirus patient and I’m not willing to take the chance. So now I have to wait until Thursday for a different store, but don’t think there’s anything we really need. Except cheese! LOL
2. Our self-imposed quarantine is up today but we’re staying put!
3. I have stuff to make Belgian waffles with warm cherries and ice cream so I really need the hubs to wake up!
YUM!!
CHEEEEEEESE!!!!
It’s the only thing I need too. But of course, cheese isn’t really needed, is it? LOL!!!!
I can live without it but it would be nice! I got tired of waiting for my waffle this morning and made a potato and egg taco and definitely missed it!
Curbside, that is so nice. I ran out of liquid creamer yesterday and milk days ago. *sigh*
I can’t believe I’m counting down days to go grocery shopping, lol.
Good morning! Hope everyone’s keeping on keeping on!
I typed up a post yesterday and got on my laptop last night and realized I never hit “post comment.” Just wanted to let those who haven’t seen know that Gypsy King by Devney Perry is free.
Hubs and I went to our local rural Dollar General and grocery Friday morning (I wore my mask and didn’t touch anything), and we were pleasantly surprised that the shelves at both were almost completely full.
How are you feeling Nay?
I’m glad your shelves are stocked!!! I’ve been hearing that Dollar General has been pretty stocked in my area too. People forget to try those, I suppose, or they are just REALLY ON getting frequent re-stocking shipments?
Thank you for the freebie find!! π
I’ve got cheese. Just sayin’ π
I’ve bought Bench Player cos I read #1 (Team Player) and liked it, so giving #2 a try. I’m going to have a look at Checked as well, even though I’ve never read any others in that series LOL. But I do like me a good sports romance.
I’m going to read Missing In Action too cos I love the Walshes books. Love the cover, although Wes (the mc) does swing the other way. But that model is hot. So broody and intense.
Ok, I finally had to see what it was about! My husband and I watched the first 3 episodes of the Tiger King last night. We kept saying, ok let’s watch one more. Your heart breaks for those animals. I gave my cat extra love last night! But it was definitely got our mind on what was going on in the world!
I havent been back after ep 3, but I assume it only gets crazier.
Do you think she killed her husband and possibly fed him to the cats?
Just finished A Fairbanks Affair (Odds-Are-Good #3) by Katy Regnery.
Cute little book between an Alaskan businessman and a NYC exec.
Slow at beginning but as it unfolds, characters& dialogue thoughtful & mature.
Last 6-8 books haven’t hit the mark. Coronavirus is screwing up my reading antenna.
Not sure what I like any more.
Thanks for “Checked” & “To The Rude Guy in Apartment Five”…will look at those
On my to-read list are: (MANY THANKS FOR PAST RECOMMENDATIONS LADIES!)
A Drop of Magic (The Magicsmith, #1), Bitter Heat by Mia Knight, Broken Lies,
Thirty-Two and a Half Complications by Swank, Beautifully Cruel by J.T. Geissinger,
Otherwise Alone (Evan Arden, #1)
We had carrots & sweet potato fries tonight…thanks for suggestion!
I’m just fascinated by Alaska so I love escaping in a book about one. I’m so intrigued.
School closing was extended until May 1 today. Iβm stuck teaching for another month now. I feel a bit numb to it right now, I think since I ranted the other day and I had time to mentally prepare. Thereβs good and bad with it everyday so Iβll still have my moments, Iβm sure, but Iβm not freaking out. ππ» Yet. Until someone switches things up on me again or the hubs goes back to work. π¬
Stayed up way to late finishing Storm Cursed by Patricia Briggs. Now I want (and I cant believe I’m saying this) more Wulf. She writes too many interesting side characters and there just isn’t enough time for them and it leaves me wanting more.
But still, I cant believe I actually want more of him.
My grocery store delivers. But now I just wonβt have them bring the bags in. I will prob unload most stuff on my porch and take in. I love this service and it is free. I ask for the same girl and she knows the brands etc I like. All I have to do is fill out the pages on my computer.
Maryse I used to read Karin Slaughter books as fast as they came out. There are lots of characters to keep track of. If you have a lot on your mind it is not a good time to read one of her books. You have to concentrate. Just put it up for awhile. But they are always very good books.
PS did you get my mail about the Linda Ronstadt memories? Hope it came through ok
Oh YAY JulieO!!! Let me sift through my emails and see what you sent me!! π
And thank you for that suggestions regarding Karin Slaughter. *phew* I know it’s going to be clever and awesome but it was so hard to follow right from the start.
