OMG I can’t believe it’s practically September, yet I’m not mad. So many wonderful things happen in September (especially for me… this September specifically), including fall, gentler temperatures, annnnnnd… happiness.
4:00pm BREAKING NEWS UPDATE!! The Aristocrat by Penelope Ward <— PENELOPE WARD’S LATEST IS LIVE!!! THEY FELL FOR EACH OTHER & THEN HE LEFT… “…We both had one wish: more time together. But Leo had obligations back home. He lived a life I’d never fit into. And I was going to law school. So, we decided to end it and never look back. A part of me always felt like I’d let my soulmate walk away. I believed our story was over. Until five years later when he sent me a letter that shook me to my core. I’d thought my world was turned upside down that first summer? Well, I knew nothing yet…”
THREE THINGS:
1.) I bought a dining room set this weekend, and I LOVE IT! I love the “mission style” of the chairs. The whole set is just so pretty!!
2.) My house is starting to look like a rainforest. LOL!! Okay I’m exaggerating but I just realized, in the last 3 months, I have gone PLANT CRAZY. I love it though. I’m proud of how I can keep them all healthy and happy, and in the grand scheme of things, as long as I have though clear “water-catching trays” under their pots, I have no watering issues. 😉
3.) I got eyelash extensions this weekend, and I am thrilled. My mom is an eyelash tech, so she’d do them for me when she’d visit from Canada (or when I’d visit her IN Canada), but since Covid, it’s been a couple of years since my pretty eyes. And now I have them back, and my new eyelash tech is literally 3 doors down from my office. So “refill over lunch” will be super-easy. YAY!!!! P.S. I also have botox in full effect. Just sayin’ 😉

- Suicide Season (House of Von Aster Book 1) by Yolanda Olson <— YOLANDA OLSON VAMPIRE ROMANCE (DARK???!!) ALERT!! “…We move when the hunt has ended in one place, only to begin again. It has nothing to do with the warmth of spring and summer or the chill of autumn and winter. Our seasons are measured by something else entirely. And while I sometimes wonder if he’ll ever tire of his god games, I also know that he enjoys it far too much to ever stop. Hunger is never an issue for us, and because of that, what we are isn’t apparent. I prefer animals, and so does he in a roundabout way. It’s how he sees humans—as animals that lack the common instinct to survive when presented with something beautiful. As we leave our current home for the next, I wonder what time has in store for us…”

Yesterday I read Pack Darling and loved it!!! It’s a reverse harem omegaverse with no shifters. It’s a bit of a bully romance but not really, because the males treat her well pretty fast (with some not-so-sweet moments along the way). It’s a duet and the second one is coming up in September.
It reminded me of Lola and the Millionaires by Kathryn Moon, but it was even better. It’s a reverse harem that focuses essentially on the relationship dynamic without all the paranormal and dark stuff. Kathryn Moon describes it as Sweet Omegaverse and that’s exactly it. Loved it.
If you guys know any similar books, tell me, please! The omegaverse lists on Goodreads are full of dark bully reads.
YAY!!! I’m adding it to one of the recommendations lists this week. 🙂
I don’t know much about Omegaverse (though I did read the “premise” of it), so hopefully we can get a list going.
Harper, I read Lola & the Millionaires and it was a hoot. Some unique ideas. Pretty sure it was your recommendation. Looking up the omegaverse lists on Goodreads. Thanks.
I’m curious about this September’s good things to come… Coincidentally was just thinking about whether I wanted to try those eyelash serums that lengthen. But, then I thought my lashes were pale and would it be noticeable if I didn’t do mascara? 🤔
1. Spent a good portion of my morning wandering around Walmart waiting for a new tire to be put on. Had the groceries I could get (not cold items) done it record time and proceeded to visit every aisle away from the toys multiple times. ‘Twas exhausting with a toddler. This is why potty training can’t be consistent. Bonus though- I didn’t have to pay for it. (I got a flat, my 1st)
2. Going to get my oil changed today too. So fun.
3. BOTM came out today and I’m looking forward to getting Rock Paper Scissors by Alice Feeney and The Love Hypothesis by Ali Hazelwood. I only have 17 books from it I haven’t read, but I’ve read 20 since I started this subscription. So, that’s something right? Not too outta control- yet. 😬😅
I’m afraid of the serums because of the whole “darkening of the irises” thing. Mine are blue-grey and I don’t want them to change.
So for now… extensions…
I will let you know about my wonderful September eventually. 😉
P.S. Don’t wanna jinx it. LOL!
1. Watched Cruella movie with the guys. We all thought it was fantastic. Emma Stone & Emma Thomson are out of this world.
2. We’re back in town now from a summer in the forest, on the lake- no more wildlife…will miss some of them but others, not so much. LOL 🦌🐿️🦇🦅🦆🐢🦟🦔🐀
3. We’re working through Rotten Tomatoes’ 100 best classic movies over the summer. Great acting. North by Northwest (Grant), 12 Angry Men (Fonda), Fistful of Dollars (Eastwood), Fail Safe (Fonda), Goldfinger, French Connection (Hackman), Treasure of Sierra Madre (Bogart), Casablanca (Bogart)…
Hrmmm… maybe I’ll watch it tonight while I work on tomorrow’s list!!! 😀 Thank you Mony!
After what seemed like non-stop lockdowns in this province, I have finally ventured out. Baby steps. Got my hair cut, coloured highlighted yesterday. Feel like a new person. Hung out in a neighbourhood cafe and had a latte & almond croissant with my husband. If you’d seen us you would have thought we hadn’t been fed for a year. Tonight, we’re all going to a Van Gogh art show. Happy camper.

I love pampering myself these days. I have an appointment for a re-layering + “gloss” (semi-perm dye) on Saturday
That sounds so lovely Mony. Had a small taste of roaming the library, small shops, and enjoying coffee shops again this summer. I miss it dearly. When *knock on wood* it comes again I’m going to savor it.
Yes! it seems very special now…
Not books but wouldn’t mind a list of people’s online shopping sites for groceries and household items. This winter I just might order in lol.
Tin Queen by Devney Perry is live today (date changed from Sep 14), and The Close-Up: A Hollywood Renaissance Novella by Kennedy Ryan has moved to May 2022. 😘
