OMG it’s the end of August already… and we’re going into fall, and that just makes me happy. 20 new early birds today and if I find more, I’m adding ’em!
THREE THINGS:
1.) My lawn traumatized me. We are in transition stage and I’m in landscaping-stress mode right now. But things are looking up!
2.) Last week’s meatloaf was a hit and devoured entirely within 3 days. 😀 *proud* It was even a late-night sandwich snack. Not me, of course. 😉 LOL!!! No serious. Wasn’t me, which makes it all that much better!
3.) I think I’m in love with this hair treatment – Olaplaex 3 – AMAZING reviews, all the curly girls have been going on about it on YouTube, and even I and our very own bev from right here, have been chatting about it (she’s a curly girl too!!!). She’s been using it since awhile ago, and I just found that out! I’ve only used twice so far (last week), so we are still in the beginning stages, but my hair is defining even more, and when I wet my hair to wash or rinse, during a hair wash, since using this, it feels silky and satiny while I’m soaking it. That’s just… amazing. I WILL be reviewing properly (all of these products since my curly-girl journey). For now I’m still “mostly beachy-wave/some curls” but I like it. It’s ALL my natural hair other than the uber-moisturizers I put in it. I want it better… but I’m still transitioning (darn transitioning!!! 🤨😏) and in all honestly, this is SO fun and looks pretty great, considering!

1. I’m traumatized by my daughter’s room. 😂 Really though, it was a whole thing last night. We’ll be cleaning it all week in bits. If only she’d leave my organizing alone and stop doing it herself, everything would be fine!
2. I’m searching for high tops shoes, though I’ve never been a high tops girl. And I’m doing it online, bc stores around here don’t have much, but it’s proving to be quite the chore. I’m trying to prevent future sprains, see. 😉
3. I’m so stinkin tired. Heavy case of the Monday’s here.
Oh high tops is a good idea for that!!!
I’m tired too. Tossed and turned again last night. Probably got 4 hours sleep total. I feel like a zombie again.
Something must be in the air. Same for me at most 4 hours top. So tired. Hope you can get a nap in!
I think you’re right Kathy… My colleague just told me she only slept about 4 hours too.
Three things:
1. I spent Friday at the lake with some friends (which will probably be the last until next summer 😩), didn’t put on sunscreen like an idiot, and spent all day Saturday with what felt like sun poisoning. Still, it was a glorious day kayaking, swimming, eating, and being with friends.
2. I picked up some quinoa salad from Costco and tossed it on some mixed greens (with arugula, obviously), then added sliced chicken breasts, kalamata olives, feta cheese, and a delicious vinaigrette…HOLY MOLY! So delicious!
3. I’m reading True Love Story by Willow Aster. Finally. Even after being told on here it’s going to p!ss me off because of my disdain for certain story topics. I actually didn’t even re-read the blurb so I could go in pretty blind. I’’m only about 40% in, and I’m already angry (with both the h and the H) and I just KNOW I haven’t even hit the big stuff yet. Why am I doing this? Oh yeah, I haven’t had a good book p!ss-off in a while. 😉
AMY!!!! 😀
I’m tired Amy. Help!
And OMG you did like me on 4th of July. Spent the day outside in the sun by the pool, and yep… sunburn!!!!
Your #2 makes me SO hungry. That is my ultimate salad right there.
#3… teehee. I’m here for you.🙃😏🤣
That salad sounds so good.
1. I miss the rain. Im craving it.
2. Still not sleeping well and having to or just am waking up early. *sigh* Tired, but maybe the waking up early will help me fall asleep early and get back on a sleep schedule.
3. Coffee time! Coffee, cream, and sugar today.
We can send some rain your way Bev. I feel like we’ve gotten enough here lately for the entire country.
I could SO use another coffee right now. My cinnamon twist is my morning happy place. <3 I've tried a few of the flavors (unsweetened and mostly coffee flavored - Cinnamon Twist is by far my fav. Jamaican Me Crazy too. Creme Brûlée is nice. I DO NOT like the chocolate mocha. Choclately yes, but there's something about it that I can only tolerate but not love).
This is my favorite coffee ever. Best Facebook ad trial that I've ever tried. "Angelino's coffee" https://bit.ly/2EPNlhc
I’ve missed the rain as well, bev. Ready for the rainy season to begin.
If you aren’t getting rain this is getting ridiculous. Pacific North West means rain.
Somehow your comment reminded me of a recipe I saw and wanted to try last night for Nutella iced coffee. Oooh, I’m gonna try it later!
I’m also craving rain. I feel like this has been the driest summer in years. It rained for a couple hours the other day and I parked my butt in a wagon in the garage with my foot propped on a cooler just to watch it rain. Reminisced about how we used to swing on the porch at my aunts for hours when we were younger, just chatting and watching the storms. Best memories. Now I need a porch too.
I’d love a porch with a porch swing. I’m drinking iced coffee right now. I’ll have to look up the Nutella one.
I clicked on the BFOBP link up there (what to read after…) and it was Thoughtless!! I was scanning through the list going and GAH! I re-lived so many feels seeing each book. Then I see How To Kill a Rockstar and remember how I bawled with that one, and when Maryse mentioned the Easter Egg in it from God-Shaped Hole like 2 or 3 years after I read HTKAR, I looked it up and wanted to bawl for an entirely different reason!
I *did* find a book on that list I haven’t read yet which I clicked right away…Sheet Music by Ann Lister. Hoping for some Thoughtless-like angst with that one. 😀
1. My new hobby is trying to teach myself to like eggs. I love scrambled, but I’m wary of anything else, and I’m jealous of people who can eat a poached egg on a salad or burger! I had a quail egg on a baked potato in Italy once (because I refused to be difficult) and it was one of the best things ever, so I know there’s hope. I think I got soft boiled down, but poaching is still in the trial and error phase.
2. I broke down and got on my scale finally, and let’s just say my diet is going splendidly! 😂 I got the hubs to join me too. I discovered if I use fancy words on my chalkboard menu, he doesn’t realize he’s dieting. Tonight we’re having lemon oregano drumsticks, Italian roasted veggies, and cucumber salad.
3. I really, really want to watch Fatima but I’m so tired after dinner I can’t stay awake for a movie unless it’s something mindless. My dad was a Vatican 1 catholic and the Fatima story pretty much served as my go to bedtime story growing up. There are boxes of books on the subject somewhere in this house.
I wonder if it’s a coincidence this popped up now, https://www.instagram.com/reel/CEildZbHzEN/?igshid=hkh6z0xuy51a
Thanks! I’ll try it. Today’s poached egg was PERFECTION. We had an arugula salad with the best lemon vinaigrette ever, avocado, Canadian bacon, sunflower seeds, and a poached egg on top. Maybe one of the best things I’ve ever eaten! Now I’m dying to try eggs Benedict which is something I’m never had because of the egg freaking me out! But I’ll have to wait until I can get it in a restaurant because no matter how hard I try, I cannot keep hollandaise from breaking. 😕
Eggs Benedict is my absolute favorite breakfast of all time!! Even if I COULD eat pancakes and waffles and French toast, I’d still choose Eggs Benedict. 😀
Also… I watched Valerie Bertinelli make Eggs Benedict but instead of using English muffin on the bottom, she made “fried green tomatoes” for everything to sit on top of – of course, breaded, but still. Way more Keto for me, so I think I’ll try that. 🙂 YUMMMMM!!!!!
And your salad sounds like my idea of perfection, too!
giving daughter & husband a break with baby 1-6 pm during holidays with us… yup, a classic – had forgotten how much there was to do.
so am…feeding, burping, playing, diapering, holding, walking, mess clean-upping, singing, picking up, putting down, kissing, reading “What’s Wrong Pookie”…and then at 6 pm, I get a drink ☺️🍹
