10 Questions based on our TBR lists – Bev’s List:

Still don’t know what you’re in the mood to read, even though your TBR list is overflowing? LOL!! Every book-addict suffers this (although I can’t find a better way to suffer)! 😉

Since our ever-growing TBR lists are constantly shifting, every time we *squirrel* over a new release, or are contemplating starting an adamant book recommendation, bev has proposed a fun “TBR list quiz“, and she even supplied the questions. They’re good, too!!

Yep! I think this could work. Maybe this’ll help us choose our next read. Kind of like “self help” but in book format. You know, if you write it down… in a list (I love lists!! 😀 ) maybe it will suddenly makes sense. LOL!

So each Saturday, I will be featuring a fellow reader’s responses. Of course, I too, will be answering the questions. I’m so excited!!!

bev: It is weird. Sometimes I scroll through my books and I want to read them all right now. They all look good. Other times I just want to buy buy buy but nothing looks that good, lol. I know Maryse has posted a question list based on our tbr. It was fun. Want to play again? 20 q based on tbr?

Fabi: haaaa on your last question Bev. If you pushed books as much as you do TV, I would always know what to read next. I still can’t believe I didn’t read Radiance when MichelleS first mentioned it. I don’t even know if it was her mention first or Michelle’s. Sometimes I wish you guys would hit me over the head with the recs. I don’t know what I’m reading next. I have 4 ARCs waiting for me. I’m tempted to go to the 2nd Radiance book, Elo…something. I can’t remember the title. Meh, I don’t know what I’m in the mood for.

bev: Fabi, do you really want me to push more books on you?….. Have you driven on that Jellicoe Road yet?

Jean: Omg bev, just those questions are giving me the shakes! Lol! I hit the thousand mark on my TBR so yeah, I don’t even know where to start! Off the top of my head without looking at my list, The Mason List, Brightside, Hopeless, continuing BDB series (I’m up to book 10), the Driven trilogy, the Roam series, tons of KA books, Consequences series…….yeah ok, thanks for overwhelming me!

Maryse: bev you know I’m just gonna make this into a new Saturday reader post, right? LOL!!! Keep ‘em coming guys. I’ll answer it, too! :D And LOL on that last question. 😉 Okay I’ll watch the first episode. 😀

1. Book(s) you can’t believe you haven’t read yet? Marked In Flesh: A Novel of the Others & Cold-Hearted Rake. If you know me on here its bewildering, right? I scratch my head myself.

2. Book(s) that the cover grabs your attention? Joyride by Anna Banks. Not sure why. The Carnival at Bray by Jessie Ann Foley. Ireland & music.

3. Book(s) from buzz/review? I’ll Meet You There by Heather Demetrios. I saw it on a couple best of lists and then read a super positive review. Cocky Bastard. Maryse’s review has me intrigued about the humor and the conflict.

4. Book(s) from book buddy book talk? Cocky Bastard. You all seemed to enjoy it.

5. Book(s) you are hesitant to read? Tiny Pretty Things by Sona Charaipotra & Dhonielle Clayton. The Walls Around Us by Nova Ren Suma. These two slightly scare me.

6. Book(s) in part because the author makes you feel you are in that locale? The Chocolate Kiss (Amour et Chocolat Book 2) by Laura Florand. France. Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins. San Francisco.

7. Book(s) you really hope is what you think it is going to be? The Distance Between Us by Kassie West. I have it in my head it is going to be like Pretty in Pink.

8. Book(s) that randomly pop into your head and you think yes I need to read that? The Lies of Locke Lamora (Gentleman Bastards, Book 1) by Scott Lynch

9. If your weekend read had to come from this list what 1 or 3 would they be? I’ll Meet You There, The Distance Between Us, Cocky Bastard.

10. Last one. Should Maryse put her tbr away and watch the first episode of Sherlock and blog it? Oh, um, maybe. *shrug*

Bev!!!! You ARE awesome, my friend. Do you have any idea how much I love your dry sense of humor and the scenarios you come up with involving us and our antics? I would hug you but I already used my once-in-a-great-while allowed sneak-attack hug on you the other day. 😉

And look at you…you’ve already read I’ll Meet You There (such a good story) and are now reading Tiny Pretty Things, both from your list above. 😀

Michelle, I know it is ridiculous. It may work in my favor though. I’ve done it before with books I couldn’t wait for and then waited & waited. But then when I read it it was wonderful. The right book, right mood, & right time. I love when that happens.

Amy, these little ballerinas are intense. Three different povs. They all want to be to be THE top ballerina and take matters into there own hands.
On one hand it is fun/crazy on the other it kind of feeds into the whole girls can’t handle competition. The blurb calls it a mix between Black Swan & Pretty Little Liars so it is supposed to be that type of book, lol.

Tessa, I love that you all loved it, that the books are staying consistently good. I think CB will be my next read after TPT. I’ll need a fun more light Hearted read after the last two.

Ok I have to specifically answer these questions. I love you bev! You always give us questions that make us think about the books we’ve downloaded!

Just to let you guys know, I’m 50% through Tapping the Billionaire and I am loving it! The premise is so good and different!

1. I can’t believe I haven’t read the last book in Experiment in Terror series. Have NO CLUE what I am waiting for or why. And I adored Perry & Dex. The Nightingale, and Marked in Flesh.
2. The covers of J. Armentrout’s The Covenant Series all appeal to me.
3. Books from buzz: Cocky Bastard
4. Buddy book talk: The Captive Prince Trilogy
5. Hesitant to read: Forever Interrupted (paid for & sitting there since Aug 2014). Scared.
6. Author takes me there: Elizabeth Hunter – I can see and taste and feel the locales in Irin Chronicles, and Elemental Series.
7. I hope Illuminae is all it’s cracked up to be when I finally decide to get back to it.
8. Randomly pops in my head: The Girl on a Train (someone seems to mention it every few months).
9. Weekend read if it had to be from this list… it would be The Girl on a Train, I guess.
10. Sherlock – well, I haven’t watched either – so I won’t throw any peanuts.

Jean, yes so yours can be featured. Just think hard about Sherlock. That’s the book with the cover. He looks very happy with himself.

Oh yeh. Captive Prince is awesome. Go for it. (not sure what awesome sauce is though. Autocorrect maybe??)

Here’re my answers.
1 Me Before You, Jojo Moyes. Dunno why I haven’t read it. Just haven’t jumped in yet.
2 The Nightingale, Kristin Hannah. The woman walking beside a bicycle looks intriguing, kind of lonely …. And who is that in the foreground? Makes me want to read it.
3 First Star I See Tonight. It’s the new Susan Elizabeth Phillips. Not coming out till August 2016, but available on pre-order. Very expensive, tho’. (Ouch). It’s a new one in the much-loved Chicago Stars series. (Is it cheating to answer with a book that’s not out yet?)
4 Logan Kade, Tijan. I couldn’t really get into Fallen Crest High. (I know, what’s wrong with me??) But it seems there’s a lot of love out there for Logan.
5 Land of the Beautiful Dead, R. Lee Smith. I loved Last Hour of Gann and am looking for more, but I think this one’s about zombies. Eeeek!
6 Eidolon, Grace Draven. The world-building in book 1 (Radiance) was excellent, and I look forward to going back into that world for book 2. Just gotta get in the mood.
7 My Commander, Alanea Alder. I love a good PNR series, and this one sounds fun. I hope I get hooked so then I’ll have a whole new series to enjoy.
8 The Golden Dynasty, Kristen Ashley. I haven’t read her fantasy books yet. Not sure why…
9 Eidolon
10 Hell, yeah!

Oh, I used to gobble SEP up. She was so great at that mix of humor and feelings.

I like dorky slang terms. Obviously not up with them all, though. Lol. I hope the new SEP will be good. I used to love her books, too. The last one I read (Heroes are my weakness???) was a bit different, though. Had something weird about puppets in it? I remember thinking it was ok but not her best.

JAN!!!! OMG. Go read Golden Dynasty right this minute. Seriously. One of my all time faves. Have read it at least 4x. BestKA book hands down.

Best KA book?? That’s a big call. I think my current favs are Motorcycle Man and At Peace (Burg series #2). And maybe Lady Luck (Colorado #3).

Allllllrigggggggghhhttt. Guess I’ll have to try Golden Dynasty.

Yes. I’ve read ALL of her books & GD is by far my favorite. You will not regret it. Don’t worry that it’s #2 in the series. Go back to number one after the greatness that is GD.

I couldn’t believe how much I liked Radiance. When I started Eidolon my heart was immediately broken. Ugly tears. Bev and Fabi should I press on?

Hi Frankie *waves*. I’m sorry, I haven’t moved on to Eidolon yet. But there are a couple of ladies here that have and loved it. MichelleS said it was one of her April favorites.

Yes, Frankie – press on. Eidolon was anti-climactic compared to Radiance. It was a great way to continue with that book. I kind of wish it had just been one longer book!
