YAY it’s Saturday which means it’s time for a new reader favorites list!! Aimee’s list is up next, and she provides us with some great insight as to why these are her favorite books!
A little about Aimee? She has been with us since 2013 and while she’s one of our more “quiet” reading-buddies, she jumps in every now and again, and has mentioned a few of her favorites in the past.
“Remember When are the best books I have read in ages! Up there with my love for ‘Beautiful Disaster’. Cannot wait for book 3!!”
“My poor family were abandoned on the day I read ‘The Sweet Gum Tree’ by Katherine Allred and also ‘The Education of Caroline’ and ‘The Education of Sebastian’ by Jane Harvey Berrick. Absolutely fab reads!”
Already some awesome suggestions in her past comments (I agree!). I wonder if they’ll be listed below…. 😉
My top reads
- The Education of Sebastian (The Education Series #1) (The Education of…) by Jane Harvey-Berrick <— Absolutely feel in love with these characters. Even if the age difference was taboo was I definitely rooting for this couple.
- The Sweet Gum Tree by Katherine Allred <— Such an epic read. It was a beautiful story.
- What Price Paradise by Katherine Allred <— I love stories where the heroine doesn’t think much of herself and can’t see her worth. To watch her story evolve kept me reading this in one go!
- Sweet Dreams (Colorado Mountain Series Book 2) by Kristen Ashley <— I literally couldn’t put this one down when I started. This was my first biker book and is still my favourite.
- Play It Safe by Kristen Ashley <— The course of true love never runs smooth and this book kept me interested through all the twists and turns the characters went through.
- On the Island: A Novel by Tracey Garvis Graves <— Again, an age difference that some might find hard to connect with but I loved the characters. And even with it being about 2 characters I never found it boring or predictable.
- Back to You by Priscilla Glenn <— 2nd chance romance are a favourite of mine and this one was the first I read. It was a definite 5/5 read for me.
- Beautiful Disaster: A Novel by Jamie McGuire <— Well there’s not much that hasn’t been said about this book but it’s the one that reignited my love of reading.
- Hearts in Darkness by Laura Kaye <— How can a book revolving around 2 people in an elevator keep you interested? Well this one was a fantastic read for me. I loved the 2 characters and them being in the dark elevator added a twist I had never read in another book before.
- The Wreck by Marie Force <— Another 2nd chance romance and a real page turner. Another bonus was the suspense element.
- On the Plus Side by Tabatha Vargo <— I feel in love with this heroine. It was the 1st book I read with an overweight heroine. She was so much more than her weight and although the hero in this book didn’t start out heroic he definitely came through.
- Neanderthal Seeks Human (Knitting in the City Book 1) <— I never laughed so much with the nerdy heroine in this one. I found her interaction with her friends and the love interest so entertaining.
- Bully: The Fall Away Series by Penelope Douglas <— I couldn’t handle the angst in this. It was stupendous. I loved the back and forth between the characters. I was in a book slump and this definitely pulled me out of it!
- Surviving Raine: Surviving Raine Book 1 by Shay Savage <— Ahhhh to love an angry man!! Again, a story containing 2 people on a boat. How will that be done? But it was and it was great. I devoured every page and it was a 1 sit read for me.
I love your list! I’ve read a few but I’m one clicking your #1 pick because I haven’t read that one yet. Thanks!
Oh my goodness, Aimee… I think I have read more of your favorites than anyone else’s lists that have been posted yet… you guys are so making me wanna read Sweet Gum Tree…
Nice list. Have read the majority also. Apparently bought the Vargo one but didn’t remember.
I’ve seen Force mentioned here and there a few times but have not read her yet.
It’s great to see I’m not the only one loving my book list. I wish I could wipe my memory and be re-reading them again 🙂 Big thanks to Maryse for including my list. My favourite part of the week is Tuesday evenings (I’m in Ireland so there’s a time difference) when I’ve put the kids to bed, sat down with a cup of tea and delve into the your latest book releases. Love it!! Thanks again Maryse.
Aimee, I’ve read several on your list and I too like second- chance romances! Putting Back to You and The Wreck on my tbr list. 😉
In Ireland! Oh my goodness. Maryse has such an international community here. So cool!
I love that too fabi!!! 😀
We have the most diverse and awesome group with THE BEST BOOK TASTE!
More love for Sweet Gum Tree!!! 😀 I have What Price Paradise but didn’t realize it is by the same author as SGT…moving that one up!
Back to you was a FANTASTIC second-chance romance. It was sweet but perfectly balanced with just enough heartache and went at a perfect pace.
The only books I haven’t read or don’t have sitting on my Kindle app are #9 and #11…considering what great taste you have, I’m going to have to click those now as well. 😀
Great list…there are so many on here that caught my attention! I one clicked Play it Safe b/c KA and it is $1.99!!!! Yay me! I have had Sweet Gum Tree on my TBR forever and it has just moved to the top! Thanks again for the great list!!!
I’ve seen Hearts & Darkness on your list for years. Finally going to read it tonight! Can’t wait!! Next will be On The Island. Thanks for reminding me these great books are out there!
It takes some guts to share our favorite books because for those of us who love to read, what we spend our time with says a lot about us. I am very proud of everyone who has shared their lists…good for you. Just had to say that. Great list again this Saturday as well.
Great list Aimee and some faves of mine are featured that I had forgotten about…Sebastian and Caroline and Bully!! I must be the only person not to have read Sweet Gum Tree and its mentioned so often on here that I think I might check it out.
Thanks everyone. I’m jealous of the girls that haven’t yet read the Sweet Gum Tree as it’s such an amazing read. It’s almost like reading a mini series on TV. It has a bit of everything. And it’s the only one I could get my mam and sister to read (they aren’t big readers) and they loved it too.
You and I have very similar taste in books. I too loved the Education of Sebastian and
Surviving Raine and On the Island. We kind of have a trend going. Read almost all of your list except Sweet Gum Tree. Of course Kristin Ashley is a no brainier. Thanks for sharing.
That is an excellent list! It’s always a treat to find a new read and I now have a few more. I can’t wait to read The Education of Sebastian!
Ooh, favorites! *claps hands in delight* I just fnished SGT and it was good. 🙂 Bully… *puts her hand over her heart* That book just owns me in a way few do. Seriously great list. I’ve only read a few, so a bunch of new goodies.
Play it Safe is $1.99 right now!
It’s a great KA novel!!!!
Great list Aimee! I’ve read and loved many on your list and was so happy to see Hearts of Darkness…..loved it! I’ve been curious about the Education series and will now be getting it since a lot of your favorites are mine too!
Hmm Looking for something to make me laugh so I thought I am going to check out Neanderthal Seeks Human…Low and Behold 🙂 It is FREE!!!! Joy of all joys! Thanks for the great list!
8 out of 14 – not too shabby! So I’ve read 2-4-4-6-8-12-13-14…. the others sound right up my alley. Especially your number one… a hot little 17 year old? Ooh – all forbidden. I’m such a cougar.
Have to admit haven’t heard of some of these, but that’s what I love about these reader favorite lists. if 8 out of 10 I’ve read and LOVED, then I really need to check the others out.
If you loved No. 12, did you read Seduction in Snacks? Laugh out loud funny! Seriously.
