We are continuing with our “weekly” reader favorites list and tonight, Amy’s list is up!
Amy is our resident goofball, total instigator, snort-maker (’cause of all the crazy stuff she says and blames it on her autocorrect), our stuffed manatee caretaker, our big hearted bartender, and our girly make-up lover!! She’s a girl after my own reading heart, ’cause she loves the sob-inducers and the angsty romance heartbreakers just like I do!
And she has compiled a list of her absolute FAVORITE books just for us! And even told us why on each of ’em!!! YAY!! 😀 P.S. I’ve read most of these and she is SO RIGHT!!! I love ’em too, like CRAZY!!! I almost feel like bein’ bad and tagging my name in the title with Amy’s LOL!! Alas… this is Amy’s list and I must say… she has FABULOUS book-taste!
Ready?
Amy: Okay, so here it is…um, it’s a little long-winded but is that any surprise? Nope, didn’t think so. *snort*
I don’t know that I could narrow down a list of my favorite five-star books of all time to just a few, and you know as well as I do that we can have five-star books that we LOVE but after a bit of time really don’t remember all that much of them, only that we loved them.
So, the way I narrowed my list was to pick books which have for whatever reason just STUCK with me. It could be because of angst (which is *always* a great thing!), because they were devastating but wonderful, because of a truly blind-siding twist, or maybe they were just the first of that genre that made an impact on me. These are the books which I think about months or even years after reading them, or I repeatedly relive certain scenes in my mind, or I have even gone back and re-read certain parts just because I wanted to experience it all over again. I remember the characters names and certain events so clearly, and just a single thought about some of them can make me want to cry all over again. They may or may not have been five star reads for me, but they ALL have my heart. And I’m hoping there’s something for everyone from my list! 😀
Oh, and let’s just get the obvious ones that are favorites among us out of the way…yes, that’s my way of getting around the limit I set for myself: Beautiful Disaster by Jamie McGuire (because, um, TRAVIS!!); Love Unscripted by Tina Reber (my first ever and most-loved celebrity story); Experiment in Terror series by Karina Halle (love y’all so much for getting me to read it!); The Edge of Never by J.A. Redmerski, which was just beautiful; The Sea of Tranquility by Katja Millay, also just beautiful; Transcendence by Shay Savage (a freaking caveman stole my heart!); Lover Awakened by J.R. Ward (I. Love. Z.); The Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning (*sigh* Barrons the sexy jerk); and Archer’s Voice by Mia Sheridan…yeah, that one just needs no explanation. 😉
Amy’s LIST:
1. Thoughtless by S.C. Stephens – Holy freaking mother of all exhausting and painful angst!!!!
2. The Covenant Series by Jennifer Armentrout – Aiden in this series is my Edward and always will be. Yep, that’s how much I love him. He’s a pure and she’s a half-blood, they have crazy chemistry, and them being together would mean her being pretty much drugged, enslaved and abused. Yeah. How the heck could that ever work out…
3. Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma – Taboo but not cringe-worthy. Ripped my f&$%ing heart out.
4. Arsen by Mia Asher – The *realness* of it just broke my heart. That scene with Kathy, her dad and Ben in the coffee shop all the way to the epilogue…I’ve re-read that section SEVERAL times.
5. Accidentally on Purpose by L.D. Davis – Delicious love triangle ANGST!!!
6. Until the End of the World by Sarah Lyons Fleming – Post apocalyptic with zombies, and I’m STILL devastated by stuff that happened in the second book even months later despite the great wrap-up of the series.
7. The Golden Dynasty by Kristen Ashley – My first KA book. LAHN!! 😀
8. Tristan & Danika series by R.K. Lilley – What a beautifully broken but amazing couple with a train wreck of a story. I swear those two still put butterflies in my tummy.
9. Forever, Interrupted by Taylor Jenkins Reid – I loved how different the plot and delivery was. We know he dies at the beginning (no spoiler there) but I fell in love with him AFTER he died, and I wasn’t expecting that.
10. The Avoiding Series by K.A. Linde – ANGST!! Ohhhhh, Jack was a pr!ck. I couldn’t believe how things changed over the course of the series, and the last book went in a direction I wasn’t expecting…and it actually worked!!
11. Rainfall by Melissa Delport – The twist. Oh, you’ll think you know the twist…but you don’t. And you won’t see it coming. And it will kick your gut into your heart and both will get stuck in your throat.
12. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick – The *perfect* blend of YA and NA feelings. It was just perfect in every way. I’d group it with Eleanor and Park. Yeah, I went there.
13. Insanity by Lauren Hammond – Mind fu-…er, mind messery. Heartbreaking. Made me want to stomp my feet and kick the wall and throw a tantrum in the hopes that things wouldn’t be the way they actually were. Books 2 and 3 aren’t necessary to read. Just…trust me. 😉
Can I add one more? I had debated whether or not to include it, but not enough ladies have read it so it needs some attention again…and I know it worked you over a bit, too! But we love that, right? 😉
14. Drowning Instinct by Ilsa Bick – With all the teacher/student books out there, this one definitely stands out as so many things are different in it from typical T/S books. It caught me up in the gray area between right and wrong, knowing I shouldn’t want it for them and yet wanting it for them anyway but with a heavy heart. It’s a tough read but sooooo worth it. I can’t say it any better than the blurb does, that it’s “…a novel of pain, deception, desperation, and love against the odds – and the rules.” For me, it’s the closest I’ve found to the feels of Forbidden…nowhere NEAR as intense and not the exact same feels but similar nonetheless.*hugs*
Told ya it was long-winded. 😉
*great big squeezy hug*
Do you have a “Top Favorite Books” list? Don’t forget to send me yours!! I post one every Saturday (send it here: https://www.maryse.net/contact-me). You can make it just a list (top 10 or more) but if you want to include a tiny (or longer) tidbit next to each one about why you loved it, that would be awesome, too!
Yay Amy’s list! Amy, you are so much fun to have around here! You make us all laugh…*hugs*. I agree with all your picks, all unforgettable. Surprised you picked Insanity…..I actually read the whole series. My girlfriend loved it, but it really did make me insane, but yes also unforgettable!
The only ones I haven’t read are Covenant Series, AoP, Avoiding series, and My Life Next Door (the only one I don’t have downloaded). And, I haven’t read Drowning Instinct (please no peanut throwimg)!
I love this idea Maryse! Can’t wait to see whose list is next!
*squeeee* another favorites list. And this one from everyone’s favorite – Amy!
Now, you know I’ve read a whole lot more than five from your favorites list (and where is Room 212?), so I’ll have to do like I did with Jean’s list and pick a sixth (or tenth or whatever) from your list that I haven’t read yet. I’m strongly leaning towards the Covenant series. What do you think? Should I? Or is there another that you’d really really really recommend? But, I really have read most of them. 🙂
PS do not even whisper Blind Side unless you have a handy prescription of Valium I can borrow when reading it. Can.not.handle.it.
Amy makes all of us so happy but loves those rip your heart out books. Your an enigma.
I have read all of your prologue books….well may have wandered from Archers Voice, but I’ll wander back again some day.
Now the rest. Whoa.
Thoughtless, scares me but I have them.
Avoiding, I did try.
Golden Dynasty & The First Covenant (when we book swapped), oh yes.:-D
I have the first T&D, Insanity(now scared), Until the the End of the World(your rec), waiting in my library.
Nice Amy! Insanity is free and I’m bumping up Rainfall, forgot about that one. I still get choked up about Forbidden years later
Ok, I’m ashamed of myself, there are so many of these that I haven’t read.
However, the ones I have read, I am spot on in agreement with your descriptions… Forbidden… gah, cue the ugly girl cry!
Geez, I’m gonna have to make a list of all of these that I need to squirrel away I think!
Thanks for sharing!
You GUYS…
*sniffle*
I’m teary right now. Do y’all have any idea how much you mean to me?
I need a sec…
Maryse! You tag your name wherever you please ’cause without you and all that you do for us, we wouldn’t have this place to connect (and have crazy fun!) with each other. *hugs*
Jean…all of the ones you said you haven’t read are ones that I just know you would love. I KNOW it. You trusted me on UTEOTW and went on a marathon read with that series, right? 😉 But we’re not gonna go there on the whole ongoing SR-SGT standoff though. *snort* And you can’t tell me that Insanity didn’t kick you in the gut when everything was revealed…can you? How could it have not?? Book 3, however…just no. That was too much even for me. 😕
Fabi…OMG, the Covenant series. *sigh* That one reads so fast and is addictive and it’s JA (always a plus) and you’ll adore Aiden and even Alex (the h). It is probably the ONLY series I would ever consider re-reading…and I honestly probably will read it again at some point just so I can feel those feels all over again.
Bev…I would probably pee my pants (TMI but whatever :P) if you read all of those ’cause they seem so different from your usual go-to books. Thoughtless and Avoiding series though, I get being scared of ’em…they are throw-your-Kindle angsty but FUN. 😉
Diane…gah, Insanity and Rainfall both had crazy twists and were heartbreaking! Which is why I loved ’em. 😉 Forbidden…believe me, we feel your pain around here on that one. *swallows over lump in throat*
Grey…that’s what is so great about hanging out here! I wouldn’t have found soooo many of the reads I have if it weren’t for Maryse’s reviews and lists and all of the recs from the wonderful ladies here. I hope you end up liking some from my list!
*squeee* Love this list! I love how you cheated. I should have cheated. That’s brilliant cheating.
I have a few of those on my top. SOOOOOO agree about Thoughtless. *sniffles* I adore Kellan. He’s somewhere in the top five bbf. The next two books too. I adore the music video. Gah, I wanted to hug him!
Covenant, another agreement. I adored Seth though. 😀 Seriously fell for him more than Aiden and Aiden was beyond awesome. Fabi, yes, read this series! I can’t emphasize enough how good it is!
Accidentally on Purpose, I have to read book two and three still. The first book though, blew me away!
Until the End of the World, I gotta read book two. It’s just *cluck*
Golden Dynasty, love it!
Tristan and Danika…Duh! 😛 Though I adore James more. hehehe
You’ve got a few here I haven’t read, or in Avoiding’s case, still reading. (Seriously, I haven’t given up!) *hugs* Love your choices. I should have cheated. 😛 I love the explanation too. Makes me desire to read them more. Except forbidden. Nuh uh. SCARY!
Bev, Thoughtless has angsty, yes. But get past the angsty and there is so much happy and sweet too. I think that’s why I liked them. Yes, angsty, but the love was so strong and true and the story… *sighs* So good.
I read My Life Next Door when you talked about how good it was on a past post…I loved it! Great recommendation. I’m don’t love angst or love triangles but definitely putting the covenant series on my wish list…I loved the Lux series.
Thank you Amy for this list and guess what I have’t read few out of this list not that I have not come accross them but just wast sure or did’t think, now that I share my love of angst, twists and alpha male with you I am going to go get few of them beauties as my 1-click finger has got super twitch in it
Yay!!! An Amy list full of heartbreak lol you totally love all the angst = fluttery feeling of dread in ur belly lol yeah Amy get ur peanuts out because I haven’t read most of those eeek
Thank you Amy!!!!!! Awesome list and Im happy to say Ive read many on your list and would include them in my favourites too
I love your list, Amy 🙂 *Smiiiiiile* I remember the Insanity trilogy, haha! sooooo angsty. And everyone in here went crazy over it. I’m considering Tristan and Danika for my 2 weeks holiday read 😉 I LOVED the in the air trilogy, so I guess this one is just as good as that 🙂
I’m waiting for you to devour KING 😉 I know you’re gonna love it, girl.
Marit…Tristan & Danika is waaaay better than Up in the Air series…hotter, more angst, more ‘what the…’ moments. Perfect holiday reading…enjoy
That’s one heck of a list! Some are old familiar favorites, but some really good new adds!!! Thank you for feeding my book addiction.
Update for book 2 of The Ground Rules . . . Fall 2015. WAY.TOO.LONG!!! Ok, keep these lists coming. I need to break up the wait!
Really, Lisa!? 🙂 Wow! Then I’m putting Tristan & Danika on my holiday list!!! 🙂
Tessa…that making of the music video scene was tough to read. 🙁 Did you know she originally wrote a *completely* different and crazy ending to Thoughtless? I read it once, and if she had stuck with it then there never would have been books 2 and 3! Oh, and books 2 and 3 of AoP…in book 2 I actually felt for HIM *ahem* and we get an idea of just how bad it was for her in that New Year’s Eve scene (remember that? *shudder*). And then book 3 is, er, the winning guy’s POV from book 1 and beyond. 😀
Jennifer…I love hearing that you loved MLND!! How unbelievably great was Jase? I still remember the condom shopping scene. *giggle* And then when he tells her, “It’s just us.” *sigh
I think the tough read is why I liked it. I didn’t know about another ending instead. Lemme guess, it’d make me cry, right? I WILL read Accidently on Purpose 2 and 3. It’s at the top of my Kindle TBR right now.
Oops, hit submit by accident… Anyways Jennifer, YES to the Covenant series! Always yes! Especially if you loved The Lux series. And DON’T forget about Elixir, the Aiden POV novella after Deity. I didn’t think I could love him more but…oh man… 😉
Oh Shell, I hope you’ll try some (or all! :P) from this list now that you know how good they are! Well, at least according to me. *snort* Angst and twists are the BEST…and angsty twists are even better, LOL!!
Oh realllllly, Laura? *throws “salty” peanuts at Laura* 😛 That one was for the Covenant series since you love the PNRs!
Marit…you will LOVE Tristan and Danika. Their story is so painful at times (like, *really* painful) but so incredible with a beautifully bittersweet epilogue. Well, more like very sweet with some unavoidable bitter thrown in. I cried. 😉
Yay Lisa! *fist bump* And I am SO looking forward to The Inevitability of Stars that you recommended…it sounds perfect!
Sharon… *giggle* Glad I could be of service. 😉
Tessa, here ya go… https://www.fictionpress.com/s/2715147/1/Thoughtless-Original-Ending
Amy’s list! YAY! This blog is like Gilligan’s Island, and everyone has their unique role and voice – and Amy is like Gilligan – we need that comic relief! Anyhoo – love you to pieces (and your super hot, tatted hubby makes me jealous of you too). I will just live vicariously through Amy.
Now, her list…. I haven’t read 5,6, 10-13. That’s a bunch. I have to reconsider now. And where is The Holy Trinity, missy? huh? (It’s not on my list either, but I pimp it out all the time).
Love these lists!!! I am saving everyone’s.
Amy, what a great list! You always crack me up with your comments and I find my book taste is usually spot on with yours, and let’s not forget our mutual make-up love, ha-ha the “face” kind. I agree about the music video scene- *sigh* Kellan. I did read the alternate ending and am so glad the author did not go with that one, it was just horrific and I can’t imagine not having book 2 & 3.
I’ve read most of the books on your “cheat” list, except Transcendance and BDB series. Your other list, not as many and several are on my tbr list (5,12,14), I even started Accidentally on Purpose but for whatever reason wasn’t feeling it and didn’t finish it. Have to re-visit that. I’m not usually much of a paranormal reader- may have to re-think that one. 🙂
I think I’ve read about half of your list Amy and the other half has been on my TBR since I started reading this blog. The half I haven’t read are the ones that scare the crap out of me. I have to emotionally gear myself up, ie, Forbidden, Rainfall, Arsen. I KNOW I will love them and hate myself for not reading them sooner but…. my one click finger is frozen.
Now that I have to wait for book # 2 for Ground Rules and King, I may take the leap and choose one of the scary ones!
Gah! What a crap ending! Sooo glad that didn’t happen. Just NOPE!
Should Daimon or Half-Blood be read first in the Covenant series?
Daimon is listed as #0.5 and Half-Blood as #1, but I remember in the Fallen Crest series those numbers were not the best reading order.
Fabi, you can definitely read Daimon first. It takes place the week before Half-Blood starts, and there are no spoilers in it. 😉
MichelleS…my hubby would die of embarrassment if he knew what we say about him here, especially my licking his tattoos comment. *snicker* Oh well, after over a couple decades together he’s used to my lack of a filter. The Holy Trinity! I *love* that series. It’s not on the list for the same reason Room 212 isn’t (Fabi was so mad at me while she was reading that one :P)…I HAD to narrow my list, but it hurt to cut them out. *sigh*
BLAHAHAHA!!!! Cheryl said mutual make-up love!! Too late…you said it and your clarification right after isn’t gonna stop my cackling. 😛 OMG, Transcendence is a must read! MUST read! So unique that it’s in a class of it’s own. And AoP…I think people either love it or hate it and DNF it. Believe me, she has some consequences in it. 😉 And if you’re not much a PNR person, you would still probably like the Covenant series…the PN stuff is there but it’s not overwhelming, and it’s actually balanced really well with the rest of the storylines.
Hey Tracy, at least Forbidden, Arsen and Rainfall are all standalones. And gut wrenching. And heart wrenching. And unforgettable. 😉 *oomph* I just felt a 1-2-3 combo punch from seeing those three titles together…
Thanks Amy. Daimon it is.
lol, Room 212 broke my heart, but it was soooo good. I bet it doesn’t even make your list of heartbreaker books. Which is why I can’t even go near some of the top of your list. Rainfall left me scarred for life. A year later and I’m still considering seeking therapy.
LOL!! Rainfall *was* devastatingly delicious. And believe it or not, Room 212 was a heartbreaker for me…that part where she visits her mom was the final straw and I broke. Tears, lump in the throat, some sobs…yeah, that hurt. 😉 I’m so giddy about you starting Covenant!
And I can’t wait to see the rest of everyone’s favorties lists!!! 😀 *big group hug*
Is it that crazy that I didn’t like Transcendence, The Sea of Tranquility and Arche’s Voice? lol
I can see why you all love these books, but they just didn’t work for me and I still don’t know why… Especially Transcendence..
Aside from Thoughtless, Avoiding series and Tristan & Danika I still have to read all of them. lol And now I wonder… which one am I really missing out the most?
So, Fabi, are your first two Sea of T & Half-blood? Both are really good.
Carla not at all. For me it’s the Avoiding series, really did not work for me.
Oh, Amy & Cheryl those two passionate and crazy kids.
I’m really going to have to try Taylor Jenkins Reid sometime. She seems to have affected Maryse &Amy the same way Rainbow Rowell did me when I finally read her.
Bev, I’ve ordered SoT from the library because its not Kindle lendable and its a $9 eBook on Amazon. I’m supposed to get it after 7-5 as long as its checked back in on time by whoever has it.
I’ve requested Daimon and Half-Blood on booklending.com, but once I finish my current read, if they’re not too expensive, I’ll buy them outright instead of waiting for a loan.
I don’t have anything lined up to read besides SoT and Covenant for the next week. I’m just holding off on the current new release favorites until their sequels are published.
Thank you Jean, Amy and Maryse for these favorite lists!!!
Carla, Transcendence was not a five star for me either. I liked it OK, but I’ve read other Neanderthal stories that were exponentially better. On the other hand, I flipped for Archer’s Voice and cannot believe it took me so long to read it. There are several like that. We all have different tastes. While a book may be a 5 star for one of us, it may be a dnf for another. But that’s ok. I think we all have similar enough reading tastes that it’s easy to share the majority of recommendations.
Ugh, I have spent the day reading blurbs and trying to decide on my next read. Nothing is working. 🙁 Guess it’s been good for cleaning out my kindle.
Fabi, I’m with you, I’m trying to hold off on the new releases waiting for their sequels.
Have to run a quick errand but don’t want to put my book down. Not a bad problem to have. 😀
Fabi, I love it when we all overlap on a book we like.
I’m glad this is a place we can also feel comfortable saying what we do not like too. Of course what someone doesn’t like about a book may make me want to one click, lol.
Taylor Jennie Reid is so good bev. I will never forget her books!
Oh, I didn’t have the guts to read Forbidden either and it didn’t help that I saw a spoiler for it.
And I definitely think Tristan & Danika was better than Up in Air series..,. Loved them both though!
I’m reading Never Let You Go and absolutely loving it!!!!!
Carla, not crazy at all. 😉 We wouldn’t find as many new and different reads if everyone had the same tastes and loved the same books ALL of the time. Of course, it’s always fun when we start gushing over the same books, but like Bev said, we can all feel comfortable in saying if we DON’T like something. And it can actually get pretty funny if someone *really* doesn’t like what they just read and they need to vent!
Yes Bev, definitely try out TJR’s books…they really are unforgettable. 😀
Fabi…do you have a Nook or a Nook app? ‘Cause my Covenant books are on my Nook and they are lendable!
Oh Cherrrrryyyyyllllll…Jezzzzzzebellllllllll…
Yeah, that was kinda creepy. 😛
Yup, Amy, I used Nook before Kindle. Of course I’d love to borrow them but I don’t want to take the lend option away from one of your favorite books. You may want to lend it to a close friend or family.
Fabi, your so thoughtful. I would never think of that, being favorites and all. I would be running around putting sticky notes on all the books.
Ha ha Bev, I haven’t been called a kid in years!!
Amy, I forgot about Jezebel. Have to figure out how to borrow from goodreads. Not creepy, just took me a second to figure out that was my name. 😉
Just came across these two lists while looking for my next read. Read most of the ones on the love triangle one and some from Amy’s list are on it. Imperfect Truth looks good.

Amy…Im away at the moment. But email me your address via Maryse and I will put Inevitability of Stars in the post as soon as I get home. I have very similar taste in books to you based on your top books, so I think you’ll love it as much as I did. I must say part of the appeal for me was that it was set in Australia. We have some awesome authors here but often their contemporary romance is set in the US (ie Kylie Scott’s Dive series) so this was nice for a change that I could relate to the context and setting…..not to say I don’t adore US authors and settings!!! Cos I do. Anyhoooo….when you’ve finished reading Inevitability please pass it on and let me know what you think. Cheers!!!!
Aaah great list Amy! A few of these I’ve read and loved (Accidentally on Purpose lovelovelove – one of my first reads after discovering this whole community/indie/self publishing / getting back into reading) and quite a few of these have been sitting on my kindle for AGES and just … haven’t got around to reading them yet … might have to bump them up the list now !!
I discovered that I had the whole bundle of Accidentally on Purpose on my Kindle, so I decided to start that ASAP since it made your list. I started last night. GAH! A love triangle? I don’t know who to root for yet. I’m waffling. I love a bad guy… so…..
I have that bundle downloaded already too MichelleS, but have been nervous about reading it…..keep me updated on how you like it!
Cheryl, just send me your email address by PM on Goodreads…that’s how you loan Kindle books, or at least that’s how with a Kindle app. 😉 And daaaaang…I’ve read so many books from both of those lists, and if I haven’t read one then I at least have it sitting already on my iPad! I’m saving those pages. 😀
Aw Fabi, that’s sweet of you…if you change your mind though let me know!
Thank you so much Lisa!! I’ll let Maryse know, and I’ll *definitely* pass it along after I read it. It’s been literally years since I’ve read a paper book so this will be different for me!
Jen…that happens a lot around here! We all have these great books sitting on our TBR lists and forget about them until someone else shows them some love. 😉 Hope you end up loving them like I did!
MichelleS…I was that way too when first reading it, and then there was no question who I wanted it to be. Oooooh, you’re in for a ride!!!
…and definitely keep Jean updated ’cause lord knows a rec from me just isn’t enough with her! *pbllllltttt* <——- That's for you, Jean…lol, kidding!! *hugs*
One more thing, Cheryl…I’m actually reading Imperfect Truth right now, and the storyline is pretty good, but the writing itself is waaaayyyyy too rushed and tells more than it shows A LOT so there isn’t the *oomph* that there would be had the writing been a bit better. 😕
Aww Amy, you know I love your recs….I read Room 212 and UTEOTW series based on your nagging…..um I mean persistence….. Lol!!!!
I’m taking peek at Daimon over lunch. I won’t be able to really start reading until late tonight, but I can resist my first look at it now. 🙂
Finished King and loved it! That prologue for the second one was just too teasing! On to Sloth!
sorry left my comment on the wrong thread…one of those days
Will say though that I have a lot of Amy’s list on my TBR and have read quite a few too! However, can not find My Life Next Door on Kindle?
ALWAYS good recs here, I could fill my summer just from this list. I recommend Leslie Hachtel, her book Texas Summer is an amazing summer beach read! There are some awesome books out there!!
Amy, good to know, I was thinking of reading Imperfect Truth next just based on the list it was on. Reading The Truth In Lies saga right now (it was on my tbr). I’ll PM you when ready to read Jezebel- thanks; although I may try to read AoP next- I’ve started and stopped it twice so far…maybe third times the keeper. Maybe I just need to read a little more to get into it. 🙂
Paula, try this (posting from my phone so hopefully it works)…
https://www.amazon.com/Life-Next-Door-Huntley-Fitzpatrick-ebook/dp/B006CUDF1I/ref=sr_1_1_ha?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1435626934&sr=1-1&keywords=my+life+next+door
Cheryl…even though Emmy might make some really bad choices (and she pays the price for them), I couldn’t help but hurt for her several times. Then again, I wasnt a Keira-hater with Thoughtless. 😉
I wonder if she has a different publisher in the UK and they haven’t made her books digital there yet?
Like Lisa’s Australian book here.
Mmmmm. I wasnt a Kiera hater in Thougtless either but I loathed the cheating in Overruled. Double standards maybe.
And I just finished Beat and was totally onboard with the cheating in that!!!!!
Oh crud, I didn’t think about that! Sorry Paula. 🙁
Lisa, I am AWFUL about having double standards when it comes to cheating in books…I have so much fun with love triangles when it is between the h and two guys, but if the H cheats then I end up *hating* him and holding a grudge. Never fails.
I read a book like that once (won’t give the title ’cause of spoilers) but once the H cheated – it was dual POV and he cheated during HIS POV chapter! – I hated him and the book and pretty much skimmed the remainder of it because I loathed him so much. See?!? Double standards.
Lol Amy, it’s kind of interesting how we have our triggers in books. I know I have mine. I remember abandoning an awesomely good recommended series last year due to a trigger scene. I finished the book but refused to go on with the series since the h was completely ruined for me.
There is so much (fantasy) that we enjoy in books which we (I) wouldn’t go near with a ten foot pole in real life, yet there are still those triggers for each of us that just…no…not happening.
PS reading Daimon and the h is kicka&&. I love that. I hope she stays strong.
Totally agree Amy and Fabi. If the character being cheated on is a bit sketchy I can usually justify it in my heart….but when I really relate to the h and she is being cheated on……no way, not happening. I have abandoned books too when Ive got that yuk stomache churning feeling or the ‘woman
-scorned fury’ feeling.
Love a bit of angst….but not the heart wrenching pain!
You know what’s funny? If the h gets cheated on by the H but doesn’t go back to him then I am okay with the book, but if she forgives him and goes back to him then the book is ruined for me because HE is ruined for me. And yet I don’t feel that way if the H and h are not exclusive when he messes around or if they are separated…if that is the case then I usually still want the H and h to be together because it’s not really cheating. Does that make sense?
And Fabi…I *love* Alex!! 😀 She is kicka$$ but not in the obnoxious way where she thinks she is awesome, but rather she is that way because she HAS to be. She is goofy and always shooting off her mouth at the wrong time and impulsive (wait ’til you see her use an apple as a weapon *snort*) but she is fiercely loyal to and protective of those she cares about.
I’ve read quite a few of those but the one that stood out for me is Forbidden. Everything in me rebelled against reading this story but the author wrote it soo well, did a brilliant job of drawing me out of my judgement and revealing the other side of the coin, leading me into empathy then absolutely gutting me at the end! Brilliant book can’t recommend it enough.
Hey Amy, I assume you finished FFD….. how’d you like it? Still Team Logan??
Exactly, Marion! You described it perfectly. Have you read Drowning Instinct? SOMEone around here has to read it so Maryse and I aren’t the only ones affected by it! Come on Marion, you know you wanna… 😉
Jean, I don’t know why I put it off for so long ’cause it didn’t go where I was afraid it would go, and I am so happy that it didn’t! It DID feel a little different from the others because of the changes going on (transitioning to senior year and college for Mason), but it was still really good. And even though Logan is special and I love that guy, I’m still alllllll about Mason. 😉
Gah! You and Tessa can keep Mason. I love him, no doubt. But, he’s much too self contained manly for me. I prefer Logan’s vulnerability and even Adam’s stoicism. *heart Logan*
I’m with you Fabi….LOVE Logan!!!!! The last book definitely had a different feel to it.
I found the last book more angsty than the previous ones. It was also the first book where I thought Sam was being a bit stupid.
Jean, have you read the Covenant series?
Logan reminds me of someone I would want as a best guy friend. In fact, I *had* a guy friend in HS very similar to him. 😉
So yeah…I WILL keep Mason in all his sexy glory and his I’m-an-ass-to-everyone-except-those-I-love, thankyouverymuch!! 😛
Awww. I can see that too. Because you’re so outgoing and friendly yourself. I’m more like Mason so I need that social butterfly Logan to get me engaged with the world.
Ha! I can’t believe we are so in tune with fictional characters. Goes to show how great the characterisation in those books is.
Amy, me too but only in books. I love book Travis but in real life…..no. Being around some one who is quick to anger, throws down, breaks things, those people are exhausting. Feel like walking on egg shells around them. But in the book I loved him, lol.
I agree with Amy. I seriously want to hug and hang out with Logan, but the ass to everyone but those he loves thing always makes me melt.
Bev, you just described why he’s NOT my book boyfriend and never has been. He angers too easily. He kind of scared me in a few parts.
OTH I totally related to Travis, his moods, actions, all felt completely normal to me.
Awww, this is so cool hearing everyone’s reactions to these characters.
*giggle* Imagine a 16-year-old guy sitting beside you in class with a mannequin forearm and hand sticking out of his jacket sleeve (still have no idea where the eff he found that at school)…then he leans over the aisle and starts running the mannequin hand through YOUR hair and rubbing it over YOUR leg. We both ended up with detention ’cause I was laughing so hard I cried my makeup right off.
My hubby is a big ol’ sweet teddy bear but he does have a temper…he just knows better than to direct it at me. 😉 I’m with you Bev, and if he ever started breaking things or if I had to walk on eggshells around him then that would be the end of things. Even though those guys are fun in books. Once again, in books…always and only in books!
I know Fabi…I’m supposed to be doing my work right now but I’m having too much fun chatting about our book guys with y’all.
Oh I love them both, Mason and Logan, for different reasons! I had lots of guy friends like that too Amy, but ended up marrying the “bad boy”! I always tell him I saved him! Lol!!
No Fabi, haven’t read the Covenant series……(waiting for the peanut throwing)!!!!
Still thinking about Ground Rules days later…….guys seriously, if you haven’t read it, DO IT! And as much as everyone is talking about a CH, I didn’t really think so. It’s more the sneak peek at book 2 that had you saying WTF but not angsty……
*grins and throws a peanut* It’s not just on Amy’s favorite list, you know!
Eventually, I might try Ground Rules. It seems only angsty, not bad horror reminders. I think I’ll be buying Sloth first. That blurb did get me, but I haven’t gotten it yet. I have too many library books right now.
Sloth is next for me too Tessa. Just bought it yesterday. I agree, too many to choose from right now!
OK Covenant series….. Moving it up because I do love the author!!!
I just started it so I don’t know for sure, but I think it’ll have a FCH feel to it.
FCH feel… Huh. I guess I have a type.
Oh Tessa, you soon have a type. I love the books you love! But I’m more “all over the place” with my favorites.
*soon* = *soooo*
Huh. Just looked at my list and yeah. Almost all of the heroes are a Mason type or have a Mason type as a secondary. There’s one or two that don’t fit but… Yep, a type!
Ha! I was referring to a “book” type not a “man” type. But yeah, lol, I guess our book types reflect our -ummm- tastes in men. (why do I feel like giggling now?)
YEAH Jean!! My hubby is a “reformed bad boy” too! Although it wasn’t fun to deal with his crap in HS. 😕 Angst and drama in books…FUN! Angst and drama in real life…NOOOOOO.
Tessa, I am really, REALLY liking Sloth right now. 😉
Fabi…we feel like giggling ’cause we’re talking about BOYS! *hee hee*
In books love Travis. Like KA Rock Chicks, I love Luke. He is totally Alpha OTT. But if they magically came to life? Totally pick Hank. Hot cop, who bought a gorgeous family home and a cute dog. Yes please.
hahaha Amy, you make me feel like a little girl again. And yeah, my hubby was a bad boy too. Unfortunately, his reformed ways only lasted until his 30s. At that point, with two little ones to raise, I wasn’t quite as understanding or forgiving so I had to relabel him my Ex.
*hugs Fabi* Some bad boys need to be exes.
I’m giggling too over the boys. Though, in real life, I have a tendency to fall for the darker type, and that rarely ends well. *sighs* However, books, YES PLEASE!
Amy, I will, when I get around to buying it. Right now, I’m reading a second of a randomly decent book. The Vampire’s House of Pleasure! *snickers* With that name it should have been horribad funny! Instead, it’s decent! WTF, right?
Ha! Bev, that title. I am so resistant to books whose titles don’t appeal. It has to be a strong recommendation for me to overlook a bad title.
Thanks for the hug. 🙂 It was a long time ago. My kids are all grown up. lol
Fabi…that is not an easy decision to make, and the amount of strength it takes to make that sort of decision is admirable.
Can I give ya a hug? Pffft…you know I’m gonna hug ya anyways!
*squeezy hugs Fabi*
Awww Amy, so sweet as always
*can’t breeeaaath* *pats Amy on the back* you can let go now
🙂 lol luffs ya
*smacks Fabi’s rear*
Luffs ya too!
*runs away cackling*
I’m.at close to 30% with Half-Blood and I’m hearing echos of the Carpathian stories. Anyone else got that from the Covenant series?
Oh, and echos of Acheron too huh?
I didn’t notice any similarities with those two. For me it was Vampire Academy. Really need to read more in both those series.
I was up until 5 this morning reading Half Blood. 😮
eeek I just saw Seth for the first time. This book! twisty turny stomach butterflies
*grins* I can kind of see the Carpathian. I didn’t get Acheron other than the whole myth thing, but then, we each see similarities others don’t. Soooo glad you are liking it! That’s the best part.
Bev, both series are awesome and also complete! I’d say finish them if you can.
Ooooh. LOVE SETH! *swoons*
The Acheron thing: you know Apollyon, God killer powers…
And even when there’s two…
I’m supposed to be working, slept 3 hours, but I can’t put it down. I just got so annoyed because I HAD to answer a business call.
Ummm, saying I like it is an understatement. But I also see the appeal for Amy because already my stomach has knotted up a time or two and I can tell the series is going to get bruttal from here on out.
YAY Fabi! They read fast, don’t they? I haven’t read the Carpathian or Acheron books but I have read the Vampire Academy books. I actually read the VA series first but loved the Covenant series so much more. Obviously. 😉
Yep, Tessa LOVES Seth with his whole arrogant hottie thing while I’m in love with Aiden for his protect-Alex-at-all-costs thing…especially when she needs protection from herself and her decision making. *snicker*
I love reliving this series when you guys experience it for the first time! 😀
And yes, the series does get darker as it goes on…but with JA’s perfectly-timed dry humor to keep it from getting TOO heavy. 😉
Oh.my.God.Amy !!! You haven’t read Acheron???? I didn’t realize there was anyone left who hadn’t read it. *looks totally shocked*
OK…breath Fabi, breath…
Acheron is dark and angsty and heart wrenching and punches you in the gut time after time after time until you feel like nothing but a black and blue completely done in punching bag. <= run on sentence *forgot to breath*
Oh umm, yeah, its pretty heavy already but I’m looking forward to the dry humor. I love that in a book!
0.0 Amy? What have you not read Acheron? Seriously, it is one of the biggest heart pain, tears, sad stories ever. So much heartbreak, seriously!
Alright, Fabi, god killers. I get that. *grins* Did you read Styxx book? Definitely God killers involved. 🙂
Oh boy, time for me to duck. Acheron turned into a skim for me. Just couldn’t get into it. I was so excited to see him fall in love and think I felt it was just , meh.
Maybe I’ll have to try reading it again sometime.
Oh man, y’all know just what words to use to draw me in! Is Acheron the Dark Hunters series by Sherrilyn Kenyon? ‘Cause I have book 1 (Fantasy Lover) of that series, but I just looked on Amazon and there is a set with all 22 (!) books for $147… 😯
I don’t know about all that, ladies…you guys have seen the list of my unread books. 😕
The irony is, Fantasy Lover doesn’t delve into the world as much as the others. She wrote that as a standalone, then wrote Night Pleasures, and added the couple from Fantasy Lover for flavor, and it became the unofficial first book. Acheron can read as a standalone. He’s just the big, sexy mystery up until then. Also, a LOT gets explained, but won’t ruin the others to know ahead of time. And erm, 25 books now, with 26 coming soon. And some books are just little novellas, not really books. Like, book two is referred to as four. 🙂
Tessa, I read Styx but it was one of those where I had such impossibly high expectations that the book couldn’t help but fall short.
Amy, IMO Acheron would be a gut punch even if you have not read the series. Each book in the series is ultimately a stand alone, although being UF, it continues with the same premise and we do see previous characters. I REALLY think it can be read alone..
Although, on another note, its one of my favorite series of all time and very very popular so you know its gotta be good. Each book focuses on one tortured MC, and boy, are they tortured.
Oh, and if you read Acheron and later decided to read the series, it wouldn’t spoil hardly anything.
Oh and last fyi, that first book in the series is probably the worst of them all. They keep getting better and better as the series goes on (up until Acheron). I read the entire series (as many as were published at the time) back to back and ended up in a total booknslump when I had to wait for the next release.
OK…sorry, putting soap box back in the corner now.
Hahaha Tessa we were saying the same thing at the same time.
Oh, and I have the official reading order if anyone needs it.
Hey guys…Deacon reminds me a tiny bit of Logan. Heart squeeze.
Read Acheron! Just skip to book sixteen and read Acheron!
Deacon’s a huge sweetheart. 🙂
Oh and Fabi, I agree on Styxx, but I was refering to the God Killer part. That was interesting.
But hadn’t the god killer thing already come out in previous books? I remember already knowing about it. Even as part of the “Apollyon” name.
Isn’t that why the heifer got so scared when she would push him to far?
And I totally think Nick has a right to hold a bit of a grudge, lol. Felt bad for him.
Yeah, but remember the end? That’s the part that I actually liked best.
Gah, I guess I don’t remember the end.
On another note, I guess I’m not going to get anything done today because I can’t tear myself away from HB. It’s after 2 and the most I’ve done is handle a few phone calls.
He plays guitar!!!! I am in loooove. Head over heals. Sorry Seth camp, I’ll be on the opposing team this time.
Okay, I’m one-clicking Acheron since you guys say it can be read as a standalone. Gah, y’all just had to use the magic words!!
Do you see that, Fabi? *happy dance* <—- That. Right there. That's for you. 'Cause you're loving HB. 😀
How weird and funny…I was just thinking the *exact* same thing a few minutes ago about Deacon being like Logan!! I was thinking that and then thought you would like this, Fabi…I've probably posted it before but I gotta post it again:
https://deityisland.blogspot.com/2012/11/deacon-plans-aidens-birthday-party.html?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+DeityIsland+%28Deity+Island%29
Oh my…the black guitar pick she gives him. Just remember that little bit ’cause…yeah, just remember it. Trust me. 😉
Oh Amy, I love love love love love … (Repeat a million times) the birthday list
on another note:
I’m still in a bit of shock that any pnr buff has not yet read Acheron. Grab your big girl panties cause you’re in for one wickedly viscious ride.
Seriously. Your heart will ache.
That list, Oh my gosh. Such an awesome response. Gah, now I want to read the whole series all over again.
Throw some peanuts my way, because I, too, have never read Acheron. Thought I had to read the whole series. I read Fantasy Lover, it was okay. Acheron is that HUGE book with cool cover, right?? **ducking, dodging pesnuts **
I need to finish Covenant Series. Loved it, just didn’t finish ’cause you girls keep distracting me.
*diligently scribcles A.c.h.e.r.o.n on world’s largest peanut* heads up MichelleS – incoming –
Gah! Read Acheron, MichelleS! Of all people, you should have consumed all of the books by now. It’s nice to read them in order, but seriously it’s not important. Don’t read Styxx or something, but to get into them, Acheron doesn’t contain spoilers.
I know! I know! I think it every Stinkin’ time I see that book at the library or Wal Mart or everywhere else it constantly pops up!! It’s like Surviving Raine & Amy… Where we are all surprised! Oh the shame…, ** hangs head ***
Tessa, you have a better memory than I do, which one was the guy who lived in Australia I think? The super loner one? The scary guy?
It was an earlier book, well before Acheron…
*hugs her* It’s alright. Get the first one from the library. If that doesn’t get you motivated, nothing will. Well, Acheron is insanely good, but I can see you enjoying the mystery of OMG, what is Acheron. Also, the series has my favorite character of all time! Yes, even more than Mason.
It has Simi!
hahaha MichelleS, that’s funny. But I have to admit that it feels great to be picking from yall’s favorite list. These are books I should have read but somehow missed or put off for whatever insane reason. They are soooo good.
MichelleS, Fantasy Lover isn’t on par with the rest of them.
omg Tessa who is your favorite character? Mine is Acheron…no surprise.
I just saw your last line. /Simi!!!!!!!!!!!!
Amy would love adore and keep for all time – Simi
Where is Maryse? She has to have read these in her PNR phase.
I sure did!!! I read ’em. Here I am!!!! 😀 Been going through three books this week… Only one am I almost finished though.
Oh Fabi loved him!! But mind blank. Z something. Alaska so he hated cold. Quotes The Little Prince to her.
Zarek from Dance with the Devil. His story was so good and so sweet!
Yes yes yes yes yes. If always think of him as Z and sometimes have to remember the two different Zs. Alaska, absolutely. That was the ultimate heart wrencher of the series. Gah! What is it with Z characters being the favorite in PNR series?
Man Tessa, you’re good. *claps hands happily*
So many of these are dark, bitter, heart wrenching, heart melting stories. But Zarek’s and Acheron’s are my favorite.
I confess, I think I’ve read almost all of them twice or more. Even Styxx. So far, the only one I haven’t is Son of No One. That one was a little Blah.
Yes, Tessa! My favorite. That and Night Play.
“and she has only four thorns to defend herself against the world”
*grins* Bride is so sweet. You just want to hug her.
Alright, In the categories section, Maryse has a whole section dedicated to Sherrilyn Kenyon. In fact… https://www.maryse.net/books/book-review-acheron-by-sherrilyn-kenyon.html Acheron, Five Stars!
GAH!!! Did I put spoilers in Acheron? What a NOOB I was. *sigh* 😉
Did I at least spoiler-alert?
Hrm, don’t read that. It’s from five years ago and there are definite spoilers in there.
Tessa, right? As Fabi is reading it I am getting soooooooo many flashbacks from both major and minor scenes and everything in between, and I wanna go back there. Oh! Remember when Alex thought she was all tough and tried to challenge her uncle Marcus and ended up getting her a$$ handed to her? And right in front of Aiden. *cringe* That was kinda tough to read.
So I can read Acheron as a standalone, but how about this Z guy’s story? Come on now, I heard heart wrenching so you know I want to read it now…
And who is this Simi guy?
“Simi guy”, lol.
Amy, If you read the sample to Dance with the Devil you’ll meet Zarek, Acheron, & Simi. And would give you a taste of her writing style.
Amy, I would love you to read the series, but its long, as you said. You really shouldn’t miss out on Acheron though.
There’s a little build up in previous books to Dance with the Devil. Not much, but enough that we already have a hazy, scary picture of Z before Dance with the Devil starts. It will still read as a stand alone. Just giving you a heads up.
HB, as usual, once I get close to the end, I don’t want to go, so I start reading only few pages at a time to try to make it last. Man, am I ever in love with Aiden. And Alex, YES, a tough heroine, my favorite. This book has had me emotional all the way through.
Simi is not a guy. Simi is……Simi. You just have to meet her to believe it.
She is THE Simi. 😀
All of them are pretty much standalones. You can start from Night Pleasure and get a taste of Zarek there, but with so many, you can pick and choose. Just don’t read any that come after Acheron before you read it. That would be a spoiler big time.
So…. Done with Ride Steady. Acheron or Sloth? You guys are totally throwing a giant peanut wrench in my plans! Ugh!!! Killing me with my big weakness. PNR or UF. Killing me,
GAH! 816 pages…. 7.99 for that old book??? seriously? Anyone got it on Kindle to lend?
Really Michelle, as much as you like adult PNR and UF, I can’t believe you haven’t read this stand-out series.
The only one I have on Kindle is Son of No One. All the others are on Audible with a few hardbacks thrown in. I’m pretty sure I have Acheron in hardback. I could get that copy to you since you’re not that far from me.
MichelleS, have you read Burn for Me. Really good. On sale.
Acheron check your library, I know mine carries her books. I tried before i had an ereader.
I checked with my library and they have the audio-book, so I downloaded it!! I guess I’ll be spending some time by my pool. I hope it’s a good narrator, I am not a huge fan of audio books. The voices in my head are usually better.
Burn for Me – nope! haven’t read that one either!!! I think I tried something by that author once-upon-a-time and didn’t connect with it. So I have avoided hers. But this is a good one? It’s only 1.99!
Yes, slow burn though. I may be remembering wrong but want to say Niki, Michelle, Tessa, & I all liked it.
Just finished Hearts Blood. It was so so so good. I can’t believe I missed this series when it first came out. It is so in my reading alley. Thank you for putting it on your favorites list Amy. It gave the excuse I needed to take the plunge and read it.
MichelleS, It makes me wonder what book by Ilona Andrews you tried. Maybe an Edge book? *shrugs* But now I’m curious! Yep, Bev, I loved Burn for Me. Almost as much as the Kate Daniels books. 😀
MichelleS, I don’t think I even have a copy currently. I had a hardback, and it got destroyed. (My own fault) Then I got a paperback, loaned it to someone, and never got it back. Now, um, I need to buy it for my Kindle or just buy a used hardback. 🙂
Tessa – i think it was Magic Bites. I was in my PNR craze back then and if I remember, maybe it just didn’t have a great love story??? I know that back then I needed the classic PNR, with a couple in each book – that’s why I gobbled up BDB, Nightwalkers, IAD, Midnights Breeds, Breeds, etc etc etc. I may like it better now. Throw more peanuts, because apparently that’s part of the Kate Daniel’s books – which I also have not read! GASP!
*throws peanuts big time*
Though, yeah, it doesn’t start with a love story. It’s a true slow burn, where the first few books, it’s not lovey dovey. The classic love/ hate is going on. Yet, in the end, they fit, you know? If you can, see if you like it again. I know that’s asking a lot (especially since my teenage issues still prevents me from reading Outlander), but if you can, the romance is there. It just takes a while.
hmmm, I have no idea how to ask this without a spoiler…reading Pure now…
Is Aiden more than?
LALALALALA – I am not going to read any Aiden / Covenanat spoilers, Fabi!!!
Tessa – you haven’t read Outlander? That’s like my numero uno favorite book and favorite series ever in the history of ever. There is nothing in there that even compares to some of the books we read (ok, it gets real and gritty). And he’s my book husband. I am sad that you don’t get to fall in love with Jamie Frasier, because I just know you would. You wouldn’t be able to help yourself. What can we say that may help you? Girls? We need to help Tessa here!
I have the first book. I’ll get to it, eventually. Give me like, ten years or something. I recently tried the show and got so bored watching her with her husband I never even got to Jamie.
Alright, I finally found something to read. Yep, re-reading Half-Blood. 🙂
Fabi…do you mean more than a pure?
And you think you love Aiden now? Just wait…it will grow tenfold by the end. 😀
MichelleS…if you’re talking about Acheron then I can lend it to you if the audiobook doesn’t work out for you.
Yes Amy, that was my question, but I was trying to disguise it so it wouldn’t be a spoiler answer. hahaha
Oh hurry Tessa. I just started Pure today. Yippeee
Not a spoiler question and no, he’s just a good ol’ pure with awesome fire ability. 😉
Ok, thanks
Nope, no spoiler alerts. Maryse, tell them how awesome it was and how it would CRUSH their heart.
Fabi, I’m on Pure now!
Squeee Tessa. I’m about halfway through.
“A short hour later, Seth reappeared with hamburgers and fries— my favorite—and I kind of forgave him. He’d had hamburgers; what else could I have done?”
Alex is impossible not to love.
*grins* Isn’t she? I love her logic. She’s so wonderfully flawed, but good, you can’t help but like her.
Though!!! She dips her fries in mayonaise!
I LOVE Alex. Love her. Like, girl-crush level love her.
She’s so dang impulsive, and I loved watching how it worked for her at times and at others…*cringes*
And Aiden. *swoooooooon* And yes, Tessa, even Seth, the delicious jerk-head. 😉
Is this series complete?
Yep! I started the series back before Deity was out, or maybe it was Apollyon? Pretty sure though it was Deity. Either way, I had to wait for each book and UGH, it sucked.
Book #3.5, Elixir… *sigh* Don’t. Miss. That. One. 😉
Ok, guess I’m starting 3 next then.
*squeals and claps hands*
Addictive, right?
“I’m afraid of something.”“What?” I whispered. He drew in a deep, shuddering breath. “I’m afraid of never being allowed to feel what I do.”
my heart is now on the floor, a little puddle of melted mess
Deity, right? Oh, Aiden. *sigh* Soooo much happens in Deity. 😉
Yeah, and I thought Pure was brutal…
Aiden has been perfect from page 1. What an incredible H. Love him!
Fabi, I am loving reliving those books vicariously through you! 😀
@80% of Deity. The Covenant series is hard to read. It keeps my stomach tied up in knots.
I’m on Apollyon. There’s more tummy twists to come, Fabi.
Of course…its an Amy recommendation. *snort*
What fun is a book without some tummy twisting?!? 😀 And you haven’t even hit the CH in Deity yet, Fabi…
Tessa…please tell me you read Elixir?? Oh, my sweet Aiden.
Wait, I forgot…you’re a Seth girl. 😛
Yeah, I just finished it. I’m reading Elixir next.
Tessa, did you go straight to Apollyon?
Shhh
*whispers*
Its late. Turn off the flashlights and go to bed.
Hey Fabi, what–
Eeeeep!!! Bev heard us!!
*giggles and ducks under blanket*
G’night Bev. We luuuuuufffffs you!! 😛 <—— said from under blanket
Read under the covers with my flashlight. 65% of Elixir. But…shoot, I gotta get up on less than 3 hours.
Of course. This is just a re-read, but Elixir is good. Poor Aiden. Elixer is short, but so good. Not “needed” but you miss so much if you skip it.
I just started Apollyon, I can’t believe Elixir is not needed. It has so much information in it.
Yes, it does. Boy does it. However, I said technically. 😛 You’d just miss so much it’s insane.
Yeah, I agree. I’m calling it required reading. 😉
You know who surprised me was Marcus…that guy would p!ss me off at times (even though Alex DID bring some of his wrath on herself) but in Deity he started showing a different side, and he was great through the rest of the books.
Ohhhh Elixir…was that emotional at times or what??
I always had a feeling about Marcus. He seemed like the strong slilent type. Although, to be honest, he was probably written as too much of a d!ck at first.
Elixir was my favorite so far. But both, Pure and Deity, had some serious gut wrenching scenes.
Hey, at least with him being a d!ck at first then we could appreciate the change in him a little more later on. 😉
Yes 2 and 6 are both series you got me to read that I LOVED! Although I can’t think about 6 or I will get in a mindfunk again…
I bought My Life Next Door after you rec’d it but still haven’t pulled it out. Forever, Interrupted is a fav for me too. I need to read After I Do still and might like that one even better…and the new one she just put out…I need more hours in a day!
Geesh, all this mind funk talk, I really got to get around to finishing The End of the World’s series. I am just scared!
Finished re-reading the Covenant series. So good, even the third time around. *sighs* All the emotions were evoked all over again. I can’t wait for Fabi’s reaction to Appolyon.
I haven’t had any reading time today. 🙁 But, sheesh, that was fast Tessa.
I read fast. *shrugs* Probably about a page a minute or less, depending on font. Oh and if I’m distracted into playing random games. 🙂
