Oh I get a kick out of how Theresa lists her top 10! It looks like a top 10, but it’s actually a top 20plus, ’cause each section has an honorable mention. YAY US!!! Plus she gives us one from each genre. LOVE THAT!
She’s a fairly new member here (at least by way of the comments), but after looking at this list, I know she has GREAT book taste. Just like us! 😀
“Hey Maryse. I know I am a new member to your blog, but I thought I would send over my favorite book list. I absolutely love this posting and have gotten so many great recommendations from the past lists that I thought I would give it a shot. This was more difficult than I originally thought it would be. There are so many great reads out there but here are a few of my favs…”
1. Mortal Instruments Series by Cassandra Clare <— YA Paranormal: The Mortal Instruments series. Loved it, Loved it, Loved it!!! Cassandra Clare makes you cheer for all of the characters in the book and provides such an intricate web between her characters that you are compelled to unravel the many mysteries! The Infernal Devices is a prequel to this series and is equally as amazing. I can’t wait for additional shadowhunter books to be released next year.
2. All Souls Trilogy by Deborah Harkness <— Adult Paranormal: A Discovery of Witches Trilogy by Deborah Harkness. Beautifully told, incredibly detailed, and rich in history. Matthew Clairmont is one yummy vampire! Honorable mention in this category is definitely BDB. Those are some serious alpha males.
3. This Man Trilogy by Jodi Ellen Malpas <— Erotica Series: The This Man Trilogy by Jodi Ellen Malpas Jesse Ward is my ultimate book boyfriend!!! Absolutely devoured each book multiple times! Honorable mention: Crossfire Series by Sylvia Day. Gideon Cross is definitely my close second book boyfriend!
4: Kristen Ashley <— Any and all KA books! Top favs are: Rock Chick, For You, Sweet Dreams, Motorcycle Man, Fairytale Come Alive, and Hold On. Need I say more!! Absolute favorite author!!!
5. Stage Dive Series by Kylie Scott <— Rock Star books: The Stage Dive Series by Kylie Scott. I laughed and cried…who could ask for more! Honorable mention: The Thoughtless trilogy…talk about angst, angst, and more angst!!!
6. Sempre Series by J.M. Darhower <— Mafia: Sempre / Sempre Redemption by JM Darhower Beautiful stories about love, survival, and perseverance!
7. Off-Campus Series by Elle Kennedy<— Sports: The Deal and The Mistake by Elle Kennedy Just perfect in every way. Honorable mention: Driven by K. Bromberg WOW! Just started the series and can not wait to continue!
8. Mia Sheridan <— Hard fought love stories: All Mia Sheridan books Archer’s Voice being my fav, but I have to say that each of her books have stayed with me in their own way…they are the best to go back through and read your favorite parts! Also loved Consolation and Conviction by Corinne Michaels. I loved that the heroine knew what she wanted and never faltered.
9. On The Ropes Series by Aly Martinez <— Fighter Books: Fighting Silence / Fighting Shadows by Aly Martinez These books just felt REAL!!! Real people with real problems fighting for survival, love, and family while overcoming their own personal demons. The banter between the brothers is hysterical as well!!!!
10. Profound reads: Any book by A. Meredith Walters or Amy Harmon. After I read their books I reflect (often through tears) about what is truly important in life. I absolutely loved Reclaiming the Sand and Chasing the Tide. Find You in the Dark is currently on my TBR list. Then you have The Law of Moses / The Song of David (The Law of Moses Book 2) and Making Faces all of which touched me deeply. Thank you to both of these authors for writing such compelling and thought provoking stories.
“OK so those are my top reads today…I could probably add many more to that list but I will stick to those!!! Thanks again for this blog…it helps me discover new reads and new authors all the time. Later!”
Great list Theresa! 😀 I have read many of these too. Love your taste. I have Sweet Dreams by Kristen Ashley on my Kindle, but I have not read it yet. Maybe I should give it a go 😉
Love your list Theresa!!! I too have read the majority of these. Driven trilogy is amazing! I have no doubt it too will become one of your top favorites!! I’ve read so many great books but I also go back to Jesse Ward and Gideon Cross as my all time favorite book boyfriends!! Oh and KA……automatic one click!!!
Great list!
I’ve heard a lot of good things about Reclaiming the Sand. But I’m a bit hesitant because of the heroine. Unlikable heroines are hard door me.
I also have held off on the final book of the All souls trilogy. Though unlike some, I did like the second book. May make for a nice fall read.:-)
Thanks Marit!! Push Sweet Dreams to the top of your TBR it is FANTASTIC!! Enjoy!
Wow! I’ve read most of those and loved them. What a great list. Fighting Silence looks good with some major angst. . I don’t know if I could handle Reclaiming the Sand. Little dude has autism, so… yeah. I don’t think I could. Law of Moses looks good.
Only other book I haven’t read is Infernal Devices (I have the first one though!) and all those KA. 😀
Bev, read the third. Everything gets all happy and tied together without being predictable. I liked the second one as well.
Oh also didn’t read Mia Sherridan but reading Archer’s Voice right now.
Theresa you have some of my all-time favs on your list, so I’m super excited about the ones you mention that I haven’t read yet. All Souls, This Man, Stage Dive…
Maryse, this is still such an exciting blog post. I look forward to it every week.
Ladies, if you haven’t shared your favorites with Maryse yet, please do so. I very much look forward to seeing your list.
Thanks Linda! I am about 50% through Fueled and am loving it! It has such an honest feel between Colton and Rylee. I am enjoying their journey. I am also glad to hear from another Jesse and Gideon fan!!! Gotta love the alpha males!
Love the lust…oops, I meant list… Dang autocorrect! 😉
BDB, The Deal, Driven series, Crossfire, Stage Dive, Thoughtless…loved them all! Great list, I love Saturdays!
Thanks Theresa for sharing your faves… And Maryse as always!
Hey Bev, thanks for the nice comments. Reclaiming the sand can be a challenging emotional read. The heroine is difficult to like, but the author gives such poignant insight into her past that the reader develops a strong understanding of her motivations. The Book of Life is a perfect conclusion to the trilogy. Enjoy!
Oh Tessa, read Infernal Devices….it is sooooooo good! It ties so many characters of the Mortal Instruments together….and you will love Will Herondale! I sobbed like a baby at the last book….Cassandra Clare gives one of the most beautiful epilogues I have ever read. It is also one of my favorite love triangles. Heartbreaking!
Thank you for posting my list Maryse. I am glad everyone is enjoying it. Please keep this blog going….I look forward to it every Saturday!
Totally agreeing with the comments above – great list! Read and loved most of this list too! Stage Dive series … those books have been sitting in my kindleTBR list for far too long. Everyone seems to love it … might be time to finally do something about that lol.
Wow Theresa…..except for Sempre Ive read ALL of your top books. Great list.
Great list Theresa. I have read many on your list. I do have to get back to the Stage Dive series. I also started This Man, but dnf, maybe it was my mood…have to try again. I love Gideon Cross too, but damn is that author ever going to finish that series!!! 😉
Yes everyone please!!!! Share your favorites with me (send them to the “contact me” link up there), and I will post them for all of us to oooooh and ahhhhhh over!!! This is one of my favorite posts every week. I get to know each of you even more, through your specific favorites.
Profound reads? you have my attention. I adored Making Faces, totally agree with that choice! Now I need to look up this A. Meredith Walters person.
I, too, have every single KA book ever written. So happy to see Fairytale Come Alive get some attention. That is a fave of mine too. Also, Play it Safe – which is a total stand alone and not part of any series. It’s just this outlier of hers that is so so good.
I love the clever way you set up your list, Theresa! 😀
If you like A. Meredith Walters then you will probably *love* Find You In the Dark…so emotional and heartache inducing with a nice splash of angst thrown in.
Theresa, great list! The only ones I haven’t read are 1 and 2! We have the same great taste…haha!
