Elke is looking for genre recommendations! I’ve read a few that I’ve loved, but let’s make a list!! π
She asks:
Hello, I reed a lot and lately am a little picky, trying to find a book about a certain subject and would like to know if you have any suggestions.
You see, I would love to read a book where the h goes on a weight loss journey in order to find a second start.
I know you will probably think that it shouldn’t have to matter whether big or small, but you see, I find them inspiring.
I have read the redhead, but haven’t found any other book that breaches the subject. So, if you could help me there I would truly appreciate it.
Thanks a bunch!!!
Maryse: I have TWO for you that I loved!! This one: Sweet Dreams (Colorado Mountain Series Book 2)Β by Kristen Ashley (and here’s my review) and this one!! Noah (5th Street Book 1)Β by Elizabeth Reyes (and here’s my review). But I think it’s time to make a nice list of ’em!
Let me know if you have any to recommend.
MichelleS:Β Definitely Sweet DreamsΒ by Kristen Ashley.
Carla:Β Iβve read great books about this subject matter this year.
- You Don’t Have to Say You Love MeΒ by Sarra Manning
- The WingmanΒ by Natasha Anders

Claud:Β Loved βYou Don’t Have to Say You Love Me,β by Sara Manning.
Stephanie: Fern Michaelβs. Pretty Woman: A NovelΒ is a good one to read.
Patty:Β Here goes my first ever post on this fabulous website that has been my go to place for book recommendations. I love this list! My number one all time favorite book of all time (Did I say that already?) has to be BEAST, by Pepper Pace. Itβs a βbeauty and the beastβ type of story with a Heroine who is on her own journey towards health, and a hero, Beast, who helps her on her journey. Iβve read and listened to this book countless times. Kelly, the book you are looking for sounds a lot likeΒ Unbound: (InterMix) by Cara McKenna.
Maryse: Oh YEAH, Patty! I bet Β UnboundΒ ISΒ the one Kelly was talking about. GAH I LOVED THAT BOOK!!!! Is that the one, Kelly?
Morgan:Β R L Mathewson, I canβt remember the name. Neighbor from Hell Trevor/Zoeβs book. The Wall of Winnipeg and MeΒ Mariana Zapata makes me want to start runningΒ
Maryse:Β Morgan YES!!!!!
Kathryn: #TripleXΒ by Angelisa Stone and Christine Zolendz β a journey of two women in their forties who learn self-love. I read this 2 yrs ago and it is has stayed with me since, definitely a favorite. One of the funniest books Iβve read about a woman starting over, losing weight, and finding herself. So many laugh out loud moments! I also really related to these women and their struggles.
Suzanne:Β Diary of Fat Girl by Moira Mugweni. Book #2 (Diary of a Girl) comes out in February.
Sherisse:Β This oneβs a YA but still good and along this theme β Measuring UpΒ by Nyrae Dawn
Melissa: Jemima J: A NovelΒ by Jane Green! With a fast-paced plot that never quits and a surprise ending no reader will see coming, Jemima J is the chronicle of one womanβs quest to become the woman sheβs always wanted to be, learning along the way a host of lessons about attraction, addiction, the meaning of true love, and, ultimately, who she really is.
Leslie M:Β He Loves LucyΒ by Susan Donovan
Jen C: Iβve read a couple that kind of fit the brief that I enjoyed. The first one inspired me to start running lol!
- False Start: an Assignment: Romance novelΒ by Barbara Valentin
- Within This FrameΒ by Lindy Zart
This was so dang good….
FUNNY
SEXY
DELICIOUS
Very refreshing change to the normal.
Rock Chick Revenge by Kristen Ashley
Ava loses weight because she is in love with Luke and wanted him to notice her. This is a really awesome series

I like weightless by Kandi Steiner.

Maryse, I’m pretty sure you reviewed a book about a woman who had been on a weight loss journey and decided to go on a hiking trip. While hiking something happens and she is rescued by a hermit. I don’t want to spoil it so I will say there are some role-reversals in the plot. Sound familiar?
Yes Kelly!!! π Very familiar and very recent, although it wasn’t a weight loss journey (in fact, she was already so thin due to depression, remember?). She was on that trip to feel closer to her dead fiancΓ©.
Unless it’s not the one I was thinking of? Either way, good read, and she was certainly not as “fit” as her fiancΓ© and his sister who was worried about her abilities on that hike.
Fern Michael’s. Pretty Woman is a good one to read.

Thanks a lot everyone, I have certainly read some of the ones you have recommended, and have so loved them all.
One I also enjoyed a lot was the undefined redhead by Alice Clayton. The h doesn’t go on the journey perse but she was at some point very overweight and got a grip back on her life. It was also hilarious!!!
Now I’m going for the ones I haven’t read yet, see wat it will be π
Have you tried Elle Aycart – Heavy Issues? Alpha male too!
Another book about a woman who goes on a weightloss journey after suffering rejection by her husband – and meets a gorgeous younger man – is Watermelon by Marian Keyes. I loved it, and read it more than once!
A good story is the Cinderella Pact by Sarah Strohmeyer. Itβs about 3 women who make a pact to lose weight and each one goes it about it differently. Itβs light reading but I found it inspiring.
Someone else recommended Big Girl Panties by Stephanie Evanovich. I loved this as well
