Noelene has a reader recommendation request!!! This particular trope seems to be one of my most popular lists requests (but each time, it gets even more defined). Today Noelene is hoping we can make her a list of exactly this:
Noelene: Hi Maryse !
I’m looking for a particular trope. I want an age gap romance BUT where the H knew the h when she was a child. (Like for eg Torn by Carian Cole) Do you have some recommendations pls ?
Maryse: I’ll start a list!! In the meantime, have you read All the Ugly and Wonderful Things: A Novel? Here’s my review.
Noelene: No i haven’t but I read reviews about and it seems like a good taboo book. Thank you ♡
Maryse: My pleasure!! 😀
Oh!! And of course, Undeniable by Madeline Sheehan. (here’s my Book Review)
Reni: Undeniable and Unbeautifully by Madeline Sheehan
Lisa: Undeniable 🖤🖤🖤
Teri: One of my all-time favs!!
What else?
Nina: Blossom in Winter by Melanie Martins AMAZING Read!! Highly recommended! 23 years age difference and the hero is the heroine godfather ^^
Lee: This is one of my favorite tropes- I’m a sucker for anything forbidden/taboo. Just wanted to recommend the Something in the Way series by Jessica Hawkins. Absolutely loved the series. Thank you guys for adding to my to-read pile!
Sandi: I love that series! Something in the Way is so good. I could read it over and over again.
Maryse: Ohhhhhh!!! I remember another one that I just read and enjoyed!! Lana Sky’s “Crossed Lines” 😀 !! He’s her uncle by marriage (and he knew her when she was just a little girl). She looked up to him BIG time… and then he becomes her guardian when she’s a teen. Oh the turmoil! She’s one angry girl. P.S. Here’s my review.
Noelene: am jealous of anyone who has yet to start this book.
Ali: This was a 5 for me! And totally unexpected. For some reason, their characters resonated with me much after I finished reading. First read from this author too, I hope for a short story with them in the future.
Kimberly: Welcome to the Dark Side (The Fallen Men Book 2) by Giana Darling
Laura: Kimberly… This! Still my top read for 2019.
Catherine: Welcome to the Dark Side by Giana Darlings. Love it so much!
Anna: I have one, actually! Roam (Guarding Her Book 5) is a ‘daughter’s best friend’ romance.
Blaire: Skye Warren‘s new books are about just this! I think they start with *Overture,* IIRC.
Blaire: My own series *Runaway Princess* is about a woman and her much older brother’s best friend, who eventually is her bodyguard. They meet when she’s 12, and he has a hard time wrapping his head around the fact that she grew up. First one’s free!
Christine: The Truth about Tomorrow by B. Celeste
Amanda: B. Celeste has The Truth About Heartbreak
Terilyn: Is this a stand alone?
Barbara: Yes!!
Evis: The truth about tomorrow by B. Celeste. It is sooooo good <3
Sandi: The Truth About Tomorrow was absolutely wonderful, I fell in love with the characters! I couldn’t put the book down and wanted to cry when Ollie left, this book was soooo good.
Amy: Entice: A Novel by Ava Harrison
Bethany: It Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time by Kylie Scott???
Kimberly: Wanting Mr. Cane (Cane #1) by Shanora Williams (The Kane Trilogy)
Kimberly: Luna and the Lie by Mariana Zapata
Kathy: I’m not finished with the first book yet, but I think the Ribbon Series by Pepper Winters may be what you are looking for.
Donna: yes!
Jenn: Just finished All The Forbidden Things by Lesley Jones. So good!!
Julie O: ALL THE FORBIDDEN THINGS-really liked. Older rock star, younger girl story with a little different spin that was interesting. And seems like there will be another book based on some of the secondary characters that should be good.
Jan: If you’re into PNR, I think Nalini Singh’s Kiss of Snow (Psy-Changeling Book 10) qualifies. She was only a teen when they first met, and he’s the much older pack alpha. They’ve both been waiting for her to grow up, but it’s not creepy at all. They have lots of chemistry and they do fall in love as actual adults. Great shifter romance – one of the best in the series.
Kimberly: From Lukov with Love by Mariana Zapata. In this one the age difference isn’t huge, but there is one. And they knew each other when they were younger 🙂
Josephine: MC Chronicles by Bink Cummings!! It’s the bomb
Heather: MC Chronicles by Bink Cummings
Kathy: Before I Ever Met You by Karina Halle
MichelleS: Have always liked this author’s writing. It’s the older man, younger woman trope I like to throw in once in a while. She remembers him as a teen as her dad’s partner. Now she’s back in town, back with parents, and dad gets her a job as Mc Hottie’s assistant.
I know, I know… been there, done that… but he’s pretty swoony. Such a gentleman. Slow burn for sure. Dual POV for those of you who care about that (aka Amy).
SE Hall: Her Dad’s Friend by Penny Wyder. There’s 2: “Her Dad’s Friend” and “Summer With My Dad’s Best Friend”
Josi: The Vow: A Student-Teacher Romance (North Woods University Book 4) it releases on Friday!!
Other suggestions (similar to – but not exactly what – Noelene was asking for – but she just might love anyway!!)
Michelle: And K Webster has a whole series of age gap stories of which Dr. Dan just came out!!
Jessica: it’s sooooo good!
Harper: North Security series by Skye Warren has a lot of fans. Is a bit of a taboo because the H is her guardian and teacher
Gabri: Jane Harvey-Berrick’s Duet The Education of Sebastian and The Education of Caroline. The Hero is the younger one, but omg these books are just wonderful
Maryse: YESSS!!! A classic in our indie forbidden love favorites!! 😀
Marion: This story was soooooo good!!!
Missy: Vi Keeland’s All Grown Up! Fantastic May-December romance!
Michelle: Secrets & Lies by Nicky James but it is TABOO. And M/M so if those don’t intrest you beware. But it is an age gap romance. Amazing book!
Kimberly: Wolfsong (Green Creek Book 1) by T.J Klune if you don’t mind reading M/M. Ok. I’ll stop. 😆
Elle: Does The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough apply? Not exactly just an age gap romance… But so good!
Harper: Also, Unconditional and Love Unexpected, both by Q. B. Tyler. Both taboos (guardian and stepfatber).
Harper: Just remembered another one that I really liked, Tainted Black (Mr. Black duet) by Shanora Williams

Lana Sky gymnastics series
Hi Kelly! I wasn’t able to find it. Do you know the series name?
If you’re into PNR, I think Nalini Singh’s Kiss of Snow qualifies. She was only a teen when they first met, and he’s the much older pack alpha. They’ve both been waiting for her to grow up, but it’s not creepy at all. They have lots of chemistry and they do fall in love as actual adults. Great shifter romance – one of the best in the series.
Yesssss!! I added it. 🙂
What about the BALANCE SERIES by Lucia Franco? I believe he is older and has taught her for awhile?
Absolutely!!!
Undeniable and Unbeatifully by Madeline Sheehan
Does The Thorn Birds by Colleen McCullough apply?
Not exactly just an age gap romance… But so good!
Added it!! Thank you Elle. 🙂
Thank you all
This is one of my favorite tropes- I’m a sucker for anything forbidden/taboo.
Just wanted to recommend the Something in the Way series by Jessica Hawkins. Absolutely loved the series.
Thank you guys for adding to my to-read pile!
I love that series! Something in the Way is so good. I could read it over and over again.
Also: Tied by Carian Cole
The Truth About Tomorrow was absolutely wonderful, I fell in love with the characters! I couldn’t put the book down and wanted to cry when Ollie left, this book was soooo good.
Blossom in Winter by Melanie Martins
AMAZING Read!! Highly recommended! 23 years age difference and the hero is the heroine godfather ^^
Ooooh! I’m adding it. 🙂 Thank you Nina!
North Security series by Skye Warren has a lot of fans. Is a bit of a taboo because the H is her guardian and teacher
Thank you Harper! I’m adding it! 🙂
Also, Uncondicional and Love Unexpected, both by Q. B. Tyler. Both taboos (guardian and stepfatber).
Adding them!
Just remember another one that I really liked, Tainted Black (Mr. Black duet) by Shanora Williams
Added it, too! 😀
Hawke by R. J. Lewis. Biker age-gap romance. The H knew the h since she was born and promised her father to take her of her. This one fits perfectly on this list.
Hey!!! I am looking for a book where the hero saves the heroine while she was young and meets her again when she’s all grown up
Hi Sarah! Is this a particular title you’re looking for, or just a list of suggestions in this genre?
