I don’t have many bodyguards under my belt… er… GASP!! *snort* I mean in books… always and only in books. π
I tended to go for the “bad boy” and “bad guy” books mostly, and not so much the hero types (although that is changing for me, now – I LOVE true heroes and men in uniform and police hero romance big time!!). So I am ALL ears, too!!
Priscilla is also looking for these:
How about bodyguards? The typical young spoiled rich girl and her grouchy hot bodyguard who wonβt fall for her?
I guess I love when the girl falls first and he kind of pushes her away. He maybe lovers her but doesnβt show it until boom he canβt contain himself. Β I donβt like insta love.
Sorry if this is too long hahahah after reading more than 1000 books I became super picky, a more selective reader. I used to give 5 stars like pancakes now the higher is 4 and those are the ones I liked. Hahhaha now mostly I give 3.
Thank you very Much for all your help.
ADDED ON (Priscilla is hoping for YOUNGER characters – under 30): “…harder for me to find books about, bodyguards. I guess I have too of a specific of things Iβm looking for hahaha. Is hard finding a twenty something bodyguard who has to take care of a teen (17 or 18).”
Any favorites? Let’s make a list! (P.S. doesn’t have to beΒ characters under 30, but if you know they are, include that in theΒ recommendation). π
Priscilla: Broken Beauty by Chloe Adams… Like the closest that I can think on the top of my head is this one. She is a senior in high school something bad happens to her and she meets Dom a cop. Sad part about this is that the author didnβt finish the series, too close to personal experience she told me when I asked her if she will finish the series.
Marit:Β I just read Hero by M.S. Parker!! Oh my π This book is sooooooo hot, girls. He is her bodyguard. And she is a spoiled, rich brat! I have already clicked home book two now π Yaaaay!
Kelly: Like Us series Krista and Becca Richie.
Jan: more classic alpha types: the bodyguard/cop/military e.g. Joe Callahan from KAβs At Peace (The ‘Burg Series Book 2). Classic big strong protective quiet damaged alpha.
MichelleS: Justus De Gradi in the Mageri Series is a badass bodyguard type! Did you read that series? LOVED IT. It got better and better and better⦠the subsequent books, I mean. The first one is called Sterling (Mageri Series Book 1).
Michelle: I also am obsessed with Pritkin from Karen Chanceβs Cassie Palmer seriesβ¦I guess like a badass bodyguard type with a love for badass cool weapons that is just yummy haha yeah yummy sums it up. …He is a stubborn, coffee addict mage/secret incubus that at first wants to kill the main character but then becomes her bodyguard/trainer and starts to develop feelings for her. Another slow burn romance and this one also has a sort of love triangle going on so very complex with great character development.
Leslie: I think you need to add Out Of Line (Out of Line #1) and Out of Time (Out of Line #2) by Jen McLaughlin. Hot tattooed Marine who is a surfer by day and body guard by night. Finn is funny, gorgeous and super hot!
Leslie M: I havenβt read this one yet, but what about The Protector by Jodi Ellen Malpas?
Mary: The Protector, Jodi Ellen Malpas
Cheryl: I love these kind of books too β what about
- Bodyguard (Hollywood A-List Book 2) by CD Reiss,
- The Protector by Jodi Ellen Malpas,
- and I also really enjoyed Suzanne Brockmannβs Troubleshooters series although her books are more romantic suspense β Breaking Point: A Novel (Troubleshooters Book 9) is probably my favourite but the books make most sense if they are read in order!
Krista an Becca Richie Like Us series.
YAY!! Thank you Kelly! I’m adding it!! π
Omg I would add a few to my List!
I have read Out of Line and some books in the Like Us series.
I haven’t read this one yet, but what about The Protector by Jodi Ellen Malpas?

Wild Fire by Mari Carr – I read it earlier this year. He was ex military turned bodyguard and was hired to protect a former teen pop star.
Also, The Lies We Keep by Danielle Rose (it’s part of a duet – book 2 is Truth We Bear)…I liked both of these as well. She’s an author with a stalker who hires a bodyguard. The bodyguard is haunted by his own past.
