Shadowed: Brides of the Kindred book 8: (Alien Sci-fi Romance)
Review by Johanne Pearl Couturier
Oh this one is full of action!!! I read it in 3 days BECAUSE I was real busy or else, I would have done it in one day! I wanted to know what would happen next.
Reddix strikes a very bad deal with a witch… and he’s ready to do unthinkable things to cure himself. But when you get why he wants to be cured… well even the lady he kidnaps to fulfill the deal with the witch understands! But then again, beautiful Nina is so nice and has lots of empathy for the people around her. Her character seems too good to be true but I knew someone like her and it is just the way they are.
Of course, like most of the other books of the series, things go wrong in numerous ways, mostly because people don’t understand each other. And why don’t they? Because they assume what the other thinks, not telling the other what they are thinking in the process… rings a bell??? If there is one thing that Evangeline Anderson teaches us about couples is that, DAMN, talk to each other people! Be true! To yourself, to your values, to the other as well! And stop doing things for the others that you believe would be better for them, without talking about it first.
OK so now we know… but will the Kindred and their brides ever get it? lol
Oh! And of course there as to be a funny part to that book and to make sure the dead is done, Evangeline introduces a new character that is just the clumsiest! She is a walking disaster and knows it. but cannot do anything about it. We will hear more of her in the next book as she is stopping to visit a planet we know from book 7 and… even though everybody tells her to stay in the spaceship when she’ll get there… do you really think she is going to stay there? Can’t wait to read number 9 to laugh at all the catastrophes she will be part of! Bring it on!!!!
(4.5 stars)
P.S. Thank you to the author for sending me this review copy.
