Motorcycle Man (Dream Man)
She nailed it guys. NAILED IT!! While Tack (from this book) doesn’t beat my love for Hawk…
Tarah: Hawk is my fave!!! Tack may trump him though
Maryse’s Book Blog: Nobody trumps Hawk. Maybe not even Tate.
I mean come on. Hawk has those dimples (hehe). But back to Tack… his book (this book) sure as heck is now one of my all times favorites from this author. This was old school Kristen at her best. From page one, I had that “feeling” back. That starry eyed look of love, that exciting anticipation. Those flutters in my belly just knowing that how I was feeling as the “heroine” … might just end up slapping me in the face. Yep. And then it did. My starry-eyes changed to wide eyes of shock. And then I glared. Let the fuming commence.
What’s it about? A good girl with a steady (yet unfulfilling life) that throws it all away to start over. She’s looking for her dream man, and she thinks she finds it, one night, with a biker from a party. He catches her eye from the moment she walks in, and she can’t stop staring at him. IN LOVE right then and there. And he walks over to her… they spend the party together, and he takes her home.
… him making me laugh a lot, drink a lot and feel so unbelievably, fantastically alive while the party raged around us.
This man called Tack loved life and knew how to live it to it’s fullest. And I knew, as crazy as it sounded, that I was going to live my life to its fullest by his side.
Hehe. Boy was she in for a rude awakening.
… here he was. Living, breathing, gorgeous, tattooed, gravelly-voiced, great with his hands, mouth and other parts of his anatomy proof that I was absolutely right.
His hand left my skin to smack my ass lightly before he said, “Time to get to your own bed, darlin’.”
I blinked but the rest of my body froze.
OH. NO. HE. DIDN’T!!!!!!!
Tee hee!!!!! Oh how can you not wanna go on that wild ride? Read the synopsis. I already knew I HAD to read Tack’s book after experiencing his heart in book #1, but when I read that synopsis, I couldn’t start reading it fast enough.
Maryse’s Book Blog: Loving loving loving this book so far (Motorycle Man by Kristen Ashley). Soooooo real. The conversation in the dark that just took place… Lump in my throat because I felt every bit of it, and the moments leading up to it. I totally relate to Tyra in this.
Fabiana: So Maryse.. It looks like one of your GREAt ones? ‘Cause you posting Squeeheee’s already!!!…:) really, let us know for sure ok?? Bia
Maryse’s Book Blog: Yep Bia. This one is me. I feel like I first did when I found Kristen’s books… Elated.
Debra: So torn — I’m trying to read slowly to make it last, but I just can’t seem to put the Kindle down!
Veronica: Just finished Motorcycle Man. Loved it. Almost as good as Mystery Man (but not quite).
Mariel: … I’m almost done…. Gotta love this man… And its been a while since hawk and he’s one of my favs too do when he came into the picture I was squealing!
Lori: I loved Tack’s book!!!!
Krystal: i freaking loved it !! finished it last night 😀
Maryse’s Book Blog: Grrrrrrr!! 60 something percent and I’m fuming again. Oooooooooo that MAN!! Yep. Definitely mad at Tack. I just …. Grrrrrrrrrr!!!
Krystal: i knowww he drove me insane but i love him so !!! i had a harder time connecting on a deep level with Tyra.. but liked her a lot !
Cassie: Just started it! I’m only at 14%. I really liked him in Mystery Man because Hawk made me mad so many times with Gwen! In that 14%, I’ve already liked him, not liked him, liked him and now I’m back to not liking him. I agree, Grrrrrr!
Maryse’s Book Blog: Oh it’s a book full of that…
Tracy: ME TOO!!!!
Maryse’s Book Blog: Kristen Ashley nailed it! Loved this book right to the very last sentence. I was furious, happy, furious, elated, furious, sad, sad, super sad, delighted, furious, thrilled and just… more of all that. And I laughed and laughed. My heart went through it all… And this one was extra witty. The perfect end to the Dream Man series. I can’t wait for her “Chaos” spinoff.
Barb: Exactly. Cannot wait for more in this spinoff series!!!!!
Tracy: Just finished MM….holy smokes…didn’t think they got an hotter than Hawk Delgado but Tack is so biker bad-ass yummy!!
Sarah: I’m not one to *squeee* too much BUT seem to be *squeeing* my way through this book!!! Am LOVING IT!!! 50% in so far… Tack!! swoon… lol
And the author doesn’t hold back. That bad boy angst was in full bloom. Tack. Was. Real. Tyra was real. I connected to her 100%. Everything. I felt all of the rushes, the adrenaline surges, the anger spikes… my heart pumping in fury. My eyes tearing up when her my heart (I mean… her heart) would break.
ESPECIALLY during the blow-ups. And what EPIC blowups they were. HUGE. Infuriating. Un-freakin-believable, and there were quite a few exquisitely detailed ones. I dunno guys, I’d say this is the battle book. While the loving moments, and the steamy scenes were fantastic, I have to say that the fights, the arguments, the push and pull made the rest that much better. Honest, genuine fights. Sometimes starting over stupid things but escalating into BIG. Sometimes starting over valid issues, but in the heat of the moment, everything goes totally overboard.
“Too late,” I whispered. “Too late to ask now, Tack.”
He was silent a moment then he whispered back, “Don’t do this, baby.”
“Let me go.” I was still whispering. “I need to go.”
He didn’t let me go. Not for long, breathtaking moments.
Then he did.
He let me go.
And Tyra’s thought processes throughout? Her personal reflection as Tack is spouting off? Her own reactions and retaliations… they felt like they would have been mine. I was right there with her. Ummm… hehe *blush* like a certain “back of the bike” issue that had me scowling and seeing red. Oh sure, there are many things she could have handled better. Said. Not said. Whatever. But it was the veracity of her reactions that made her human. Her mistakes. His mistakes. The overreactions. The spontaneous decisions (even though they both knew better). The astounding moments that had me shaking my head, thinking “what the….???”
Carole: Tack was ‘Kristen Ashley Alpha male’ to the extreme! He would have scared the crap out of me. lol
You are right Carole. I felt the same way a few times. I actually wondered… am I going to even like Tack after all of this? Is he going to redeem himself in my eyes? Some of the stuff he’d say… or his physical reactions were staggering.
I mean, what was I thinking? I thought he was beautiful. Perfect. My motorcycle dream man.
But boy was I wrong. Very, very wrong. He wasn’t. He was a rough and ready motorcycle man, the president of a motorcycle club and he was downright frightening.
Tack has a nasty nasty little habit when he’s mad (or worried) and it held me on the edge of my infatuation for him. It held me back. I have an actual note in the book that says… “What is with that? Okay, enough of this!!” Yet as intense as his anger could be (which would force me to hold back), his soft and gentle moments, humorous side, and especially his loving side was just as fervent. Tack has control of his business life, but when it comes to his emotions, he is wild and unrestrained. Mostly amazing. But sometimes scary. There’s an explanation for everything, though (although I still hesitate… have my reservations… with it). You’ll see. And that’s all I’m gonna hint at.
And his “biker” world. Yep. That too, is something to get used to. Tack may have a good hold on his “boss” life but there are a few situations that have Tyra wondering just how closely she wants to involve herself. A certain way of life, and he makes no apologies for it. It is this raw honesty, that the author affords us, which addicts me to her work.
So that’s it folks. Another amazing (albeit final) installment in the Dream Man series, and I absolutely cannot wait for her “Chaos” spinoff series.
Kristen Ashley just tweeted this:
“I couldn’t let go. Not of Chaos. So I decided not to. And anyway, when Shy made his appearance… well… you know!”
Chaos is Tack’s motorcycle gang, which would lead me to believe I’m headed for many more rides on the back of some hottie’s bike. Squeeeeee!! Yay me!
Oh and a hilarious (albeit quite accurate) description of the series by Tyra herself:
… seriously, they were like out of a movie about cool, badass macho men and funny, sassy women that dressed kickass who all bantered and got kidnapped frequently.
Except better.
Interested in the series? YES!!! One of my favorites —> Kristen Ashley – Dream Man Series Reading Order
5 stars
Well, now I want to read this one but I have only read the first book of this series! Do you have to follow the order….??!! I don’t want to now….I just want to read this one! You have me too intrigued!! 🙂
WOW! All I can say is WOW! Its been awhile since a Kristin Ashley book had me this much on the edge of my seat. Loved Tack and Tyra, Tyra so real and so great. She was a perfect leading female, so much of how she thought was definitely right on the money and how I would feel or act. And Tack, wow, definitely do not want a relationship with him but I love him! So much emotion, so much the whole book. This one is now one of my favs along with Dream Man, Sweet Dreams, Lady Luck and At peace. Loved it! And looking forward to more of Tack and Tyra in the Chaos Series with Tabby and Shy!
When he kicked her out of bed I really did an “oh no he didn’t”. I wanted to smack him. I loved this book to pieces and can’t wait for the chaos series. Tack is definitely going to the smack down on Shy!
Jill: Well. It would be best to read them in order, BUT!! I haven’t read Mitch’s book yet (#3) and I wasn’t in the least bit lost. Since i knew Tack so well already, I was good to go. I hear Mitch’s book is FANTASTIC so I don’t feel ruined at all for it. I’d say go for it, especially if you already have Hawk under wraps.
Kimberly. EXACTLY! Everything you said. I GOT her. I was her!!! Her nervousness, her in love so much (too much for her own good)… he was coloring her world good and bad… and yet she couldn’t resist. And yet… sometimes she did. She did things, said things and reacted in ways, that even though (my) her heart wanted different, my head (her head) was actually… right on. She stood up.
Mary Beth. LOL!! Oh and the “back of the bike” issue… (considering the pancake morning etc…) grrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!
I can’t wait for the next book!!!
Motorcycle Man is right up there in my rotating spot of #1 KA books. It alternates between Ty, Tate, Joe, Hawk, Knight, and now Tack. I will be re-reading this book, like today:) Loved this book so much, loved Chaos, Tack and Tyra, seeing all the Dream Men dudes again, loved it all! One of KA’s best books! (Even the “it” Mary referred to ended up being sweet in a twisted sort of way).
First off, this is my first comment here on your website but I always open it everyday since I came across it last year (no joke!)… and all I can say is thank you for introducing me to Kristen Ashley. I would never have known her alpha male books if it weren’t for your site! so thank you!!!! and I must agree, KA did it again! YEY! I just fell in love with the main characters. I’m so happy that it didn’t disappoint since i’ve been waiting for it since dream man. HAHAHA
…and now i’m waiting for tabby & shy’s story.
Jennifer –> Yep. That ending… that epilogue *gulp* wow…. I get goosebumps just remembering it…. All of it.
Fritz: Awww thank you!! Feel free to join in with us ANYTIME!
And you ‘n me both. Desperately waiting for Tack (and she did him justice!!!) and dying for the 1st in Chaos. I have a feeling THAT one will be angsty, BIG time considering… you know. 😉 hee hee!!!
Okay so you have me convinced to read it, but I haven’t read any of the series. I tried looking them up on Amazon and I see they are not numbered, can you confirm the order to read them for me? Looks like Mystery Man, Wild Man, Law Man, then Motorcycle Man. Is that right or am I missing one?
Right Angela. I have posted a link to the reading order at the end of this review for future reference 😉
Thank you! I just finished a book today and am looking forward to starting the series!!
Ok, I’m 30% in and you are totally right. Nobody but Kristen Ashely can put that heart in you throat feeling while making you want them like her alphas. I’m also reserving my opinion of whether or not he’s on top of my list considering Ty, Hawk, Joe and Knight are pretty hard to beat. Thank you for introducing me to Kristen Ashely. She has ruined other alphas for me, why is it so hard to find another to grab hold like her alphas do?
Okay!!! Thanks, Maryse – and Kimberly, Mary Beth, Jennifer, Fritz, and Mary Jo – your comments have convinced me. I didn’t read the Colorado Mountain series in order either. Why start now?! 😉 I am downloading it now!!!!!!! 🙂
I was worried bc wild man, lawman were awful( just saying) lawman ..what she did to Mitch story painful.. I hope she redeemed herself.. Starting Tact story now
Wow! I stayed up all night because I couldn’t leave Tack and Tyra. Soooooo Good! And the first night out with the girls, OMG! I laughed out loud the entire time, I love Elvira. I also loved all of the cameos, this is all around great stuff!
Maryse, great review. She did nail it!
Good god what a fantastic book. There were times i didn’t know if i wanted to kick Tack’s ass or kiss him. He’s so infuriating, bossy and sweet.
Tyra is also great, she’s in my KS”S favorite heroine list. After Gwen and Nina.
That end was perfect too, not just for the book but for the series too.
Its’s great we’re gonna get another series in this biker series. I would love to read Tabby’s book. And i still didn’t give up on Elvira’s book. Seriously, that woman is the shit.
I agree with Maryse 1000% I just finished this book and I am IN LOVE with Tack! He was an ass more times that I liked but it added to his appeal at the end. OMG I got chills during one part and was seriously reaching for the Kleenex and wanted to skip to the end to make sure my heart wasn’t about to be broken. The secondary characters were so well written that it added to the book and made me want to get to know the newer characters.
This was the first book I read from the author and LOVED IT!!! Tack sure knew how to get my eyes to pop, there were many times I said Oh no he didn’t…There were times I wanted to kick his ass and kiss him all at the same time lol. I have since moved on to The Gamble, Lady Luck, and Sweet Dreams…..hottness 🙂
After reading all these there should be a man for Elvira!
OMG I loved this story!!! Ok so i had no idea i should be reading these in order but this story was oh so good. Tack had his rough moments but he was fierce and loved Tyra with all his heart. Now i have to read the rest of them and i can’t wait for Tabby’s story.
Me too. I love her bikers!
Someone out there……can I start with this book in the series or do you recommend I start with book one????
I LOVED THIS BOOK!!!! KA is my fav. I do not know which of her male
alphas i love the best.. Luke from her “Rock Chick” series is up there as well as Hawk and Tack. I am rereading this book once again. I think it is my third time. lol I can’t get enough.
Hey Nicole if you were wanting to read this series I would start with “Mystery Man” this book is actually the last book in this series.
The order is :
“Mystery Man”
“Wild Man”
“Law Man”
“Motorcycle Man”
Thanks Brittany. I read Mystery Man and loooooved it! Hawk, DREAM man. LOL Then I jumped to Motorcycle Man….is that book blasphemy? I just couldn’t wait any longer and I really liked it. Tack is one of my favorite male characters now. Oh, and Reaper’s Property REALLY rocked. Now I’m off my biker dude kick (for now) and on to Sea of Tranquility………..hope it’s good. Fingers crossed. 😉
I couldn’t agree with you more about Hawk and Tack. You can completely understand why Gwen was a little torn between the two in Mystery Man. I mean Hawk was intense and sexy and had a past that you just wanted to find out more about, but Tack was just…mmmmmmm. I can’t chose between the two. If only I had the choice :-).
I read Mystery Man and loved it. But now, I want to skip directly to Motorcycle Man. Bad idea? Do they have to be read in order????
I think would be fine, Regan. Tack’s book flows perfectly right after Mystery Man. 🙂
I just finished this book. I’m crashing and burning here, I don’t think there’s a hero that can compare to Tack, he takes the CAKE! That being said, I am now twiddling my thumbs wondering, “What next?” How do you top this? Ashley raised the bar so high I don’t think I’m capable of picking up another and enjoying it. *Sigh* It’s going to be a long weekend. If you have any recommendations for me, I would REALLY REALLY appreciate it. Major book hangover over here! I’ve read Mystery Man and Law Man, not Wild Man yet… I can’t find it in me to like Brock Lucas.
I know I’m late to the party but OMG it’s a blast! I’m in love and ashamed of it…hee hee hee.
Every chapter has me smiling or laughing so far (only 21% in!?)
Just what I need to get me back on track…Tack!
Ok sooo WHEN IS ELVIRA gonna get her a hotttt guy. She’s been kickin it with the rest of the girls. I think she deserves a good man too!!!! Unfortunately, I read the books a bit out of order and just now realizing I should’ve read wild man before motorcycle man, BUT oh well. I’m getting started on wild man tomorrow ANYWAY!
Hello!! I’m italian and i love your blog. I’m a fan of unrequited love of heroine stories, and i search on your blog for this plot very often XD. I’m listening this audiobook, actually, cause your recommendation about unrequited love romance novel. I don’t love possessive hero like Tack, but this romance is funny, a little.
Please, add other romance for unrequited love list *___*
P.S Sorry for my english.
