Short heart-wrenching true love story…
Once upon a time, my best friend and I were at a subway terminal and we saw a young couple clutching each other, sobbing uncontrollably. Her face was in his chest, soaking his jacket, while he held her tight and sobbed in her hair. Kisses and tears mingled together in an emotional devastation, neither wanting to let go. It was utter desperation. Absolute heartbreak.
But the time had come, and she finally had to let him go. She boarded her train, while he stood there watching what seemed like his whole life, leaving him. Staring after her, until the very last moment. She was gone. And now he was alone.
He looked around, and momentarily glanced up at us. We had tears in our eyes, as tears continued streaming from his. He tucked his chin in, head hanging, and trudged away. Our hearts broken with his, he’ll never know they took a part of us with them that day. And we took a part of them.
I will never forget that moment. Love at its most intense. Love at its saddest. This was goodbye. Temporary or permanently, I will never know.
P.S. My memory is brought to you by a heartwrenching scene that reminded me of this moment, from “Dear Aaron“. 😉

I nearly cried while reading this…… 🙁 So sad (but intriguing…..)
We were so heartbroken… we tried not to stare, for fear of being rude and letting them have their moment as privately as they could, but we were so stricken.
Well hopefully they are both very happy now.
I would have bawled my eyes out like a lunatic if I witnessed that. But just like a perfect romance novel, let’s say they got their HEA.
Maryse, your confession selfies make me giggle.
It’d be funny if Maryse and her bff are now a part of their story.
You remember that time at the subway when everyone was staring and we made those two ladies cry?
I love this!! <3
I would’ve definitely cried watching them. But as sad as it is, it’s also kind of amazing – to see that two people can love each other that much.
Well that brought tears to my sappy heart!!! What am I supposed to do with that? Ohh, I know…I’ll just sit here and make up their story for them, and ask Robin Hill to write that one for me!!!
LOL!!!! You guys warm my heart. Sharing in my angsty-tears!!
She had to leave for a few months due to her having an illness that this hospital far away could fix. 14 months later, she’s cured and went home, and they lived HEA.
Seriously, that moment is just SAD and I’ve have been crying too!
OMG… *sob*
😥
Hubby and I have had a couple of those moments over the years. Here’s to hoping their heart-wrenching moment, too, was just a temporary goodbye…
I finished that book last night. It was a goodie 🙂
