Good morning!! Presently reading The Five on one of the lovelies recommendations. Just started but OH MY intrigued. Off to pick up new glasses!! Yeah!!
Ten Things I Hate About You is 20 years old.
Damn I’m old.
I rewatched that a couple years ago and was angry. I saw it through new eyes and she had nothing to apologize for. I don’t think he even did and she shouldn’t have groveled, he should have. I think that’s mostly what I was mad about, but there may be more.
Agreed with Kristy and Lara. Viper was phenomenal!
Verity is unputdownable! Bit of a suspense though.
When I click on that Kindle link it tells me I’m not eligible! My work schedule changed a few weeks ago so I’m all messed up with what day it is! I thought for a minute I was clicking to see Tuesday new releases! lol
I’m so sad…I was eligible and I’ve had KU before. IDK what their rhyme or reason is. *Shrug*
Omg. I am so done adulting today, I just wanna go hide in the blankie fort with Manny…let’s make this happen!
Yay to the next Nephilim book! I’ll read that next.
Okay… Filthy Rich Boys: A Reverse Harem High School Bully Romance (Rich Boys of Burberry Prep Book 1) THAT TITLE! Just a little overly full. Yet… I’ll read it.
Grey, I think the lack of eligibility is the fact that we have ours still active.
I just got out of Sephora. Rainy day shopping. I’ve exchanged things and got new things to try. And I got the brow wiz. I’m still so afraid to use it and getting used to what they look like done. Better though, I think. Just takes some getting used to. I’ve decided to scrap blush for now. It really clashes with the redness on my cheeks. Once I cover that all up, it defeats the purpose of I’m putting it right back on. So I got a thing, I don’t even know what it is. Maybe a bronzer? You can’t even really tell I have it on, I think I like that look better, for now. We’ll see. I’m finicky. 😛 And new eyeshadow. I loved the matte, but not the color of the Naked2 palette. I’m not sure it totally went with my skin tone. And I only used a few of the colors so I’m trying a Smashbox matte that only has 3. And another eye pencil, cuz why not? Lol
I’m going out of town tomorrow and decided to look at lip cremes at Mac. I’m a little afraid it’ll be overwhelming. And Cheesecake Factory! So excited!!
I feel like my attention span is all over the place right now. I’m watching YouTube and reading blogs.
I want to take a deep breath and refocus. I want to make a small tbr list and to be watch list. It sounds funny for entertainment, but I need a reset. Plus, work will speed up and might be nice way to relax. Here is my list focus on that type thing.
I just need to figure my parameters.
Maybe a spring list? Try to finish before first day of summer.
Have to think of how many books I want to put on it…..
Anyone want to make some lists?
Tasha You should try out Sephoras subscription box. It’s 10 or 15 a month and then you try out different things. I used to get it but dropped it after I was drowning in stufff! I SO subscribe to Dermstore for skincare and LOVE IT and will never drop it. It is always a great value.
Dermstore: (some previous boxes) https://www.dermstore.com/profile_BeautyFIX+Without+The+Subscription_504932.htm
Oh no, those Dermstore boxes look irresistible. I’ve always been more into skincare. I’ve tried so much over the years, everything that’s come out in the last 10 is foreign to me. And there’s so much it’s overwhelming! I’m not usually a makeup buyer/wearer. I was as a teen, but for the last 12 or so, I’ve used the same stuff, extremely minimal. And I never had to buy more bc that’s how often I wore it. Now, I’m updating and exploring a little bc some of my stuff wasn’t the look I wanted anymore and it’s a bit of a struggle getting it just right. But, when I do, I probably won’t buy anything for another 5 years. Lol
Skincare though? If I could find something that worked for 10 years just right, it’d be a miracle.
Small rant – The book I’m reading is a reverse harem, continuing from yesterday’s book. They killed off one of the men. Not just one of the men, but my favorite! Who does that? Kill off Reif. He’s boring.
Ok, my spring lists. Counting the start as April 1 and the end as June 21. Obviously open to new books and shows that I’ve forgotten about, a great rec, or dropping if I dont like it. I want to give things a chance but times too short.
So they are not iron clad but my foundation.
Spring TBR:
1. The Unhoneymooners by Christina Lauren’s
2. The Bride Test by Helen Hoang
3. Storm Cursed by Patricia Briggs
4. Team Player by Julianna Keyes
5. Easy by Tammara Webber
6. My Life Next Door by Huntley Fitzpatrick
7. Speak by Laurie Halse Anderson
8. The Madman’s Daughter by Megan Shepherd
9. Risktaker by Lily Morton
10. A Reason to Live by Maureen McKade
Spring Watch List:
1. Mood of the Day (movie)
2. Forest of Secrets (Already started)
3. Cant Help Falling in Love (movie)
4. Innocent Steps (movie)
5. Reach of Sincerity
6. The Story of Minglan
7. Her Private Life……can not tell you how freaking stoked I am for this one. Please be good.
And the new Marlina Marchetta, of course.
Yes, when it is released here….in ebook. Or my library with the hard copy. But I’ll read it with you.
Linda- I just finished The Five. I had a wtf did I just read moment at the end. The main female character is something else. I kept having flashbacks of that Netflix movie In Plain Sight. She was just as stupid as those parents in the movie. Are people really that stupid? GAH! You just want to shake them and say, “ snap out of it!”.
Now I’m reading a lighter book P. Angelico’s new book about Malibu University’s ( I think she means Pepperdine) water polo boys. It’s called Nothing But Trouble. I love this author. Her books are funny and easy to read with hot guys!
Bev- are you going to watch A Discovery of Witches on AMC April 7 th? I’ve been waiting for this one. Lots of good reviews.
I dont have cable. But it looks good.
*excitedly opens mouth to recommend books for Michele T*
*sees comment about “no crying please”*
*closes mouth and sits back*
I’ll Be Seeing You is MINE…click!
bev…just the thought of making an actual list right now exhausts me. 😛 Kudos to you!
Tasha…isn’t it great being able to exchange items at Sephora? Smashbox is another one of my favorites. Hope those shadows work better for you! For the redness (if you want to try and cancel it out) there are several brands which make color-correcting primers, and I’ve also found highlighters without shimmer work well to cover up the red I tend to get right on either side of my nose.
Sally Thorne’s 99 Percent Mine, Fantasticland by Mike Bockoven, Jewel E. Ann’s Jack and Jill series (wait- there’s probably crying there, maybe don’t do that one), The Lingering by SJI Holliday, Josh and Hazel’s Guide to Not Dating, Sh*t My Dad Says AND I Suck at Girls by Justin Halpern, The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides. I can’t tell if you’ll cry or not yet, bc I’m not finished, but I know this will be one of my favorites- Where the Forest Meets the Stars by Glendy Vanderah.
Sorry to hear that Amy. Your usually a list maker, right?
It actually helped me feel calmer. My library was overwhelming me.
I’m glad you are ok with your love story. Some other bored night I might continue it, lol.
Yes, it’s awesome being able to exchange! There’s a Clinique redness solutions primer/sunscreen that’s green tinted that came in a new skincare kit I’m trying. I wanted a concealer bc bare minerals powder foundation doesn’t quite cover the best, but she suggested Dr. Jart Cicapair color correcting treatment that’s green tinted, but changes to your skin tone. Worth a try.
Amy, I’ve cast you as Tabby in Where the Forest Meets the Stars. Random, but that’s who I imagined. Lol
Oooh. Look at Tasha tossing around a Korean skincare brand. Next will come the dramas and music.
Really? I hope it works as well as I hear their skin products do. I watched a drama once! Well, like halfway. I still liked it, but life is too busy here for me to focus. Maybe 10 years? Lol
And I highly doubt music. I’m picky.
Oooh. Tasha just implied I have no taste.
No discernment.
LOL! I didn’t! You’ve rec’d many of my now favorites. But, I’m not into Kpop. Or techno/edm, not really country anymore, rap/r&b.
Started THE HATE VOW and enjoying so far, will let you know.
Tired of covers with guys without shirts on. I like the cover of CLASH. Something about a guy in a nice fitting t-shirt. That’s sexy too!
Just an FYI on Maryse’s pot roast… It always makes way more than the two of us can eat (even with leftovers) so I put it in a freezer bag and throw it in the freezer. I just took it out because I refuse to leave the house during my Riders crunch and I’m having to get creative. I put in in a pot on the stove, tossed in a drained can of green beans and a can of rotel tomatoes and heated on low. OMG. Sooooo good! I recommend trying to get out the pepperoncini stems first!
I mentioned before but the leftovers in an egg scramble are amazing too!
It is too quiet…..so playing the song I’ve had on repeat since Thursday. Even if Tasha does sniff at it. Lol.
https://youtu.be/vUiaG1EpN7A
It’s not awful. My daughter might like it. I could see it being the ending song in a movie where all the characters dance. I’d probably get tired of it if I had to listen to it everyday on the radio though. But, did you hear all those positive words?! 😉
We shopped forever yesterday/last night. It was pooring, windy and eventually snowed. And we were at an outdoor shopping mall. Miserable, but we mostly got what we set out to find. And I’m going to eat my cheesecake for breakfast bc I didn’t get any last night. It’s mango key lime. I’m feeling fruity, lol.
Whoop! I’ve finished Where the Forest Meets the Stars and it was wonderful! Just, perfect. No tears, safe for a cruise read. 😉 Not classified as romance, but does have just what I like! And it’s kindle unlimited.
Finally caught up on posts and comments. Was super busy finishing my kitchen re-do (had another section of the kitchen I was debating on tiling vs. some other wall treatment and trying to find a wine fridge to fit a cabinet. Sadly couldn’t find one). Also was getting my daughter ready for her school trip to London! Did some shopping for some new clothes and other things needed. She is now there and sending great pictures. My son has been home for his college spring break, but will go back today.
I’m looking forward to a week of catching up on what I want to do before she gets back on friday. Have to get my yard and house in order for an upcoming birthday party/prom celebration. She still hasn’t picked out what she’s wearing. She would like to find a dressy, patterned pants suit. Think female version of a tux with stilettos and jewelry.
Tasha I love makeup and love Smashbox and UD. I have Tom Ford primer that works well for blending and has a little “glow” to it too.
Maryse, I did buy the L’Oreal mascara you recommended. Have only tried it once so far. 🙂
Just finished The Hardest Route. Cute, funny at times with a little angst sports romance. Now I think I will read Hook Shot.
Robyn finished reading The Five last night!! It was absolutely unputdownable!! Went in blind by recommendation!! No spoilers here. Highly recommend!!
London??
Jealous.
I’m sure she will look gorgeous.
I know I’ve posted this song before but I just love it. Especially on a beautiful lazy Sunday morning. And no not kpop, lol.
https://youtu.be/_3zNl6NsOyY
Though after I posted the Amy video I’m in love with Gashina. The lyrics are a trip.
Fine, I’ll forget you
I’m gonna live like a flower, I’ll be myself
Can’t nobody stop me now
No try me
Everyone wants my scent
But only you don’t know, like a fool
Are you sure you’re not crazy?
Why are you leaving the pretty me here
And going?
My spring lists start tomorrow. Whoot!
Cheryl I’m going to try The Hardest Route and Hook Shot. Thanks. I just read the new Julianna Keyes Team Player and liked it, so I’m in the mood for sports romance. I usually don’t mind which sport. That one was baseball.
Wow, a school trip to London. Lucky girl.
Finished Year One by Nora Roberts. So good, and such a dark book as far as an end of the world story, especially involving the fae. 5* big time.
She is a lucky girl. It’s an english department themed trip. Loving all the pics she has sent so far. London street, Harry Potter studio, London Eye. I’m so jealous; I haven’t been to London before. Christmas/birthday gift from family.
Maybe she’ll even find a suit for prom! 🙂
Wizardry robes would go great to prom. 😛 Or a Shakespearean dress of Ophelia from the Globe.
Oh wow Cheryl. I’m an English teacher and that sounds so fab!
Cheryl, what an amazing trip! I’m jealous!! I hope she has the most amazing time! My daughter is going to Prom this upcoming weekend too *sniff sniff* why do they grow up so fast?
Last chance to sign up for the Pick-for-Me Challenge on Goodreads, I will randomize everyone today…
Hope everyone has a great Monday!
