Happy Halloween my friends! It’s time for trick or treating, and author Emma Scott is giving away treats right here on the blog!!
She’s giving away a copy of RUSH (City Lights: New York City) and the follow-up novella, Endless Possibility: a RUSH novella (City Lights) to a winner (and the giveaway is open internationally)! Remember that one about the blind, angry recluse (and she gets a job as his assistant)? I absolutely LOVED IT!! Here’s my review. You’ll see… 😉 It’s awesome!
And Emma also sent me over some fun tidbits about her inspiration for this amazing story (and her research):
“The entire idea for Rush came to me on a morning run. My mind started playing this dialogue between a bitter young man and a woman he was interviewing for a position. He was asking her what she looked like and being super grouchy about her answers and I realized he was blind. It was like I was eavesdropping on this convo in my head! So I ran home and wrote it up, and that became the backbone of the story, where Noah interviews Charlotte to be his assistant.
I did a TON of research on blindness and tools for the blind, much of which ended up in the novella, and I walked around with a blindfold on for a day, once for Rush, and again for Endless Possibility and let me tell you, it was NOT easy. But I could take it off at any time, and blind people are not so fortunate. I tried to channel that into Noah’s frustration.
A devastating moment came in Endless Possibility, which is about Noah following Charlotte’s tour, alone. He ran into some trouble in Amsterdam and that was hard to write. He was at such an emotional low. Another, in Rush, was when Noah leaves Charlotte to seek his worthiness. But when I wrote the aftermath of the Planet X party, I was like, “What is Noah going to do now?” And I hated that he had to leave her but I knew immediately it was the right thing to do.”
Ahhhhh YES!! That whole party scene was devastating. I had knots in my stomach the entire way through.
Now for the giveaway!! 😀

Wow I didn’t realize there is a novella. I really enjoyed Rush. It had a Me Before You feel that I loved. Thanks!
I adored both these books.
I discovered Emma’s writing via a Goodreads read it/review it opportunity and absolutely loved Rush! Very much looking forward to starting Endless Possibility.
Rush is on my kindle, but I haven’t had time to read it yet and now their is a novella. I am falling way behind. Great giveaway!

Happy Halloween Maryse! Would love a chance to win these highly recommended books!
Rush and Endless Possibility were both beautifully written, with well-developed, perfectly-matched characters. Noah stole my heart as Charlotte stole his, and in Endless Possibility, his determination and strong devotion stole my breath away. LOVED these books, and Emma Scott. ❤️
