Was planning on reading The Allure of Dean Harper, but then I happened upon Fade to Red, which is a standalone, but it has Ian and Sparrow from True Love Story. REALLY.GOOD!!! 🙂
Ooooh YES THAT SOUNDS SO GOOD!! I LOVED True Love Story!!
I loved True Love Story too Maryse and not sure how I missed Fade to Red!!
Finished reading The Allure of Dean Harper and loved it!! Liked it more than the Julian Lefray one. The chemistry between Dean and Lily was off the charts! Loved the banter too. A solid 4.5/5 for me.
Don’t know what to read next. But great books on this list. Thank you Maryse!
The Finn Factor sounds like fun! I love roommates romance. Maybe I’ll read that next 🙂
My pleasure Anne!!! 😀
I DO love the roommates ones too.
Thank you for telling me you loved Dean Harper!
Okay – I feel like I’m complaining – but…. I looked up Tiffany Snow’s latest from up there because 1. I loved her other books, and 2. the cover is hot… and then the blurb turned me off completely. Parker, Ryker, Sage…. what? Too many names in just a few paragraphs that all sound like an upper crusty urban pre-school role call…. nothing to catch my interest. Who writes these blurbs? I seem to be making very quick decisions about a book based on a few paragraphs – but I always did that. Remember reading the back cover for details? And putting it right back on the shelf when it didn’t catch your interest. Seriously, go read that amazon blurb! Crazy.
Okay. Rant over. (I’m out for a week and come back swinging? go figure). I missed you all so much…. I’ll be nice!
I’m joining in your rant MichelleS! I loved Tiffany’s Kathleen Turner series until the very last book, which she totally fudged the whole triangle up!!!!!!!!!!! I was so pissed even though my team one but the way she went about closing the circle was just ridiculous!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You’re going to absolutely adore After You ,I laughed and cried, a wonderful book that I didn’t want to end x
I can’t WAIT for After You!!!!! 😀 *starts jumping up and down* Squeeeee meeeee!! And I just read MBY not long ago so the emotions from it are still fresh. As soon as it shows up in my library…BAM!! MINE!!! *sigh* I just wish I had enough self-discipline to stretch it out and make it last…
I’m also getting Reprieve because that is a new and different storyline (to me anyways) and sounds right up my reading alley.
I’ve never read an RS Grey book, but I guess they are all KU and I put quite a few on my wishlist. I’ll look into those next. I keep hearing about Scoring WIlder so that might be first. 🙂
It’s no secret that I would read the phone book cover to cover if Victoria Ashley wrote it….so I am definitely gonna start with Something For The Pain. Her Walk of Shame series ROCKED!!!
I’m with you Lauren. Reading just the blurb that Maryse shared for Something for the Pain already gave me goose bumps. I have to get that one.
AAAAAMMMYYY??? Sock it to me. What did or are you thinking about APTCH?
*peeks with one eye*
Oh, for foodies on here. The Sweet Life in Paris is 1.99.
*shrug* I one clicked.
Bev, it is just what I was craving! 😀 It has that whole small town-Sweet Gum Tree feel, and while there are some things which are similar, there are enough differences to make APTCH its own sweet story. It’s longer than what I expected and seems to be taking me a little longer to read but it’s NOT dragging by any means.
Thanks for the perfect rec!! *squeezy hug*
😛
I don’t know how I missed all of this, but Me Before You has Sam Claflin as Will (I swear I’ve been in love with him since Pirates of the Caribbean) and will be out in March next year?!? And Louisa is played by Emilia Clarke (Khaleesi) from GoT. All of this awesome info and yet…I’m nervous again that it will be another movie that doesn’t do the book justice. 😕
Good lord…I really have become a book nerd. *sigh*
OK – what’s APTCH? Not that I should be asking as have just one clicked 7 of the early bird releases… After you was out last week here but the price tag is stopping me from one clicking!!
Amy, just looking at pics from movie shoot makes my heart hurt!

The Finn Factor looks fun to me! And all this talk about The Allure of Dean Harper has me curious, but I feel like I have to read the first book even if it is a standalone because I’m anal like that….
I have had Me Before You downloaded for probably over a year and am still too scared to read it. Maybe next?
Jean, I would recommend reading The Allure of Julian Lefray first, even though TAODH is a standalone it involves characters from the first book.
I’ve had Me Before You twice from the library and both times chickened out from reading it. I just know it’s going to be heartbreakingly good. Buddy read?
Me before you was heart breaking but a great book
MichelleS, I’m sorry that your week was so hard. 🙁
I hope things are better now.
Knock on wood, but this month has been stressful. So ready for October.
I’m looking at the big book coming out. And thinking a lot of tears coming. I hope it rocks your worlds. But, no more tears for me this month, so bid a slight adieu and see you all in October. 😉
Cheryl, would love to buddy read MBY, that way we could keep each other company in the blankie fort with the manatee! I could probably start tonight or tomorrow. Just finishing up Wrong Number Right Guy which was a really cute read!
I NEED a book!!!!!!!!!! Something epic and wonderful to read with a HEA!
Jean finishing Fade to Red, which was really, really GREAT! Has suspense, romance, angst and a rock star!!! 😉
Have to see if MBY is available at library.
Ok Cheryl. Sounds good. I haven’t read True Love Story yet either (and I have it too)! Ugh!
Paula…it’s A Place to Call Home. Bev recommended it to me a while back when I was craving something with a Sweet Gum Tree feel. 😉
Jean and Cheryl…you definitely should read MBY!! Yes, it makes the heart hurt (understatement) but for me it wasn’t a depressing kind of heartbreak, more like heartbreak from the unfairness of the situation he was in. And I loved Lou and the dynamics within her family. I’m so thrilled to be back in her world right now! 😀
Ooooh who is the author? Is it good?
It’s by Deborah Smith and it’s pretty good, especially if you’re wanting that small town feel in a time before computers, cell phones and electronic everything.
Though I’m not complaining about all the electronic conveniences…
Yeah – u cant one click without them!!
Has anyone read Emphatic by Kaylee Ryan? I’m thinking of starting it next.
I just finished Undeniably You and loved it! I didn’t agree with all the characters decisions but it was the perfect mix of funny, sexy and angsty. Definite book fog for a few days after.
Lots sound good on the list above. I added The Allure of Dean Harper, THe Finn Factor and Pretend It’s Love to my TBR.
I have read it Julie and gave it 3* – quite good from what I remember – quite sweet
Thanks Paula. 3* huh? Maybe I’ll look at one of these new ones that have caught my eye instead.!
Amy, the unfairness of the situation is what gets to me and knowing there is only one way it could/should end because of that very fact. 🙁
So that means you’re going to read it Cheryl, right? Right. Glad that’s settled. 😛
But seriously, it is about so much more than his situation. Yes, that plays a big part in the story but the prevailing theme, to me at least, is the growth of Lou’s character and his influence on the change that takes place in her as well as her influence on his state of mind. AND the best part is you won’t have to leave her world right away because we now have After You!
Just finished Fade To Read and OMG is was so good. It had suspense, a slow-burn hate to love romance, angst and a hot rockstar. The very end was wtf?!!! Not a cliffhanger, but there has to be more. It was also enjoyable to get more of Ian and Sparrow from True Love Story. 🙂
Yes Amy I am going to read MBY. Just got back from library and have it in my hands. Pouring a glass of wine, climbing in the blankie fort and getting started…have manny on stand-by please *wtf reaches for manny*
Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm…..should I join in the heartache???
Yes Ela you should!! 😉
