SQUEEEE!!! Indebted 6 and 7 are out!! Makes my Monday so much better!! I cannot wait to finish this series, but it will be hard to say goodbye to it too.
To date, I have officially read 197 books this year! WOW! No wonder I need to adjust my reading glasses prescription. Lol… 🙂
Thank you Maryse! I ordered the Harry Potter DVD set on Thursday and called to get my refund. You saved me a good bit of money. If it wasn’t for your site I wouldn’t have known.
I’m holding my breath for Oblivion tomorrow. The Lux series is one of my all time favorites.
Love the Lux series! I also devoured the Covenant series too!
OBLIVION!!!!!!!!
Fabi, did you fill out the preorder form so you can get the Daemon and Katy bonus scene? I LOVED the Alex-Aiden bonus Covenant scene from preordering The Return.
Maryse…the KitchenAid mixer is absolutely wonderful!! It has all these crazy attachments, and it even kneads bread dough. 😀 Now to go check out the crazy Kindle Daily Deal sale…
Cristina, I LOVE hearing when others love the Covenant series! It’s one of my *rare* re-reads. Such an unexpected ending to the series, but I think that’s what I loved about it. 😉
Yay Tina!!! I’m so happy I could help!! *hug*
Wow Cristina… you are a reading machine!!! LOVE IT!
GASP!! Thank you Fabi, for reminding me. I just added it. My mom is devouring that series as we speak! She’s gonna love this!
Amy it’s like a beautiful jewel!! 😀
I love the Covenant series too. 🙂 It’s one I picked up from Amy’s favs list.
Amy, I have not idea what you’re talking about with either of the preorder forms. 🙁
Yeah Maryse. Thanks for adding it.
oh oh oh !!! Blood Kiss comes out tomorrow too!
pfft – so much for getting through my EoY list. It’s coming to a dead stop at midnight tonight.
Oh well, I got 6-7 off the list in Nov. *shrug* Can’t resist the new and shinies. <— is not a word, I know, but you get the idea
ewww, I don’t like the picture of Daemon on the cover. That’s NOT what he looks like. *stomps foot*
shinies!!!! YES perfect word. 😀
LOL on the Daemon tantrum. I’ve seen him cuter, too. 😉
Amy – The Covenant series is a rare re-read for me too. I just LOVED the greek Gods and myths storyline. I had that series read in about a week! Lots of late nights during that series.
There are so many great books out this week and some really great recommendations that I got from fellow readers. MY TBR list is officially the never-ending list. It keeps getting longer and longer!
OK, last post about this, I swear —
New music is being written for the characters in the Lux series
A preview of the one written for Daemon is here:
https://www.jenniferarmentrout.com/2015/this-song-is-all-about-daemon-black/
and *squeeee* “The full version of Turn Your Eyes will be available with the purchase of the Oblivion e book as it is embedded in the e book!”
Wow, I have not read Covenant or Lux series. Just not a PNR girl, maybe that will be my New Year’s resolution- to read more PNR. 😉
*thunk* killed me with the blurb from Letters Written in White.
Tangled Christmas sounds fun and Misconduct- yeh the author notes it’s a standalone and no cliffhanger- love that!!
Fabi…
https://www.jenniferarmentrout.com/2015/get-invaded-with-a-bunch-of-books/
It asks for your age on the form…that’s just f$@&ing embarrassing. *snort*
Cheryl!!! You have to read the Covenant and Lux series!! In that order. 😉 I don’t know about everyone else, but I didn’t feel like I was reading YA nor did it feel overwhelmingly like PNR.
Oh, and I feel the same way about Daemon on the cover of Oblivion…to me he will ALWAYS be the guy on the original covers, no matter how many times they used that guy on other YA covers.
However, his facial expression on the cover of Oblivion is *perfect* for when Katy refers to him as “six feet of p!ssed off alien” or something like that. 😛
*hee hee* Your mom is awesome, Maryse.
She is TOTALLY into “our” books Amy.
In fact… she’s the one that got me INTO “our” books. LOL! 😛
That is so awesome Maryse! My mom is not a “reader” 🙁
Amy, I filled out the form. I’m 49 and I read YA.
Anyone wanna make somfin outta dat?! Huh huh? Lol, kidding.
I’m not ashamed though. In fact I read an awesome book last week intended for the 8-12 audience. It was so good!
So there… Nanananabooboo *sticks out red koolaid tongue*
You know, it was all of your love for Obsidian and Lux that had me convinced this site was for me. Any group that loved those books had to be good. 🙂
I got Final Debt and here’s the sad thing. I’m too sick to read it! *CRIES* I’ve tried reading today and all I’ve done is sleep or stare at the tv. I hate being sick.
Okay fabi what book is it? 😀
I loved Covenant, but never read Lux series. I tried, just didn’t grab me.
I picked up The Nightingale for 1.99. Early birthday present. Yipee!!!
I finished Eighteen (18), that student-teacher romance. 3 stars for me. Just too many “unbelievables” for me.
I am now reading one of Bev’s recommendations, an “oldie” in the Chicago Stars series (Nobody’s Baby but Mine). She’s a nerd, he’s a jock. That formula totally works for me.
Next it’s back to Illuminae. I think I may be ready to tackle it soon.
oh, I think I mentioned it on Friday’s thread. It’s called Sidekicks by Jack D. Ferraiolo. It was sooo good. The cover and title (and even the blurb) do not do it justice. It’s easily in my top 2015 reads. It’s about a boy and a girl and superpowers and good/bad guys and…but wait…it’s really a coming of age story with some pretty deep topics concerning bullies, and morals, and loyalty and shame and betrayal and…well, shoot. I loved it. In spite of the lack of “s*x”, it had a sweet love story.
This is the review that sold me on it: https://www.goodreads.com/review/show/1306612752?book_show_action=false&from_review_page=1
My only regret is that I let it sit in my tbr for months.
Tessa, so sorry to hear you’re sick. 🙁 It’s definitely been going around here too.
I hope you start feeling better soon.
MichelleS you’re not a huge fan of YA so I never recommend YA books to you. Illuminae…as great as it is…is YA. NOT that I’m steering you away from it, only in the form of full disclosure.
Illuminae is bought and paid for (ouch) on my Kindle – so no swaying me away now. YA is okay when there is a great story or characters. When it is set in modern day then I am too far removed from that age to appreciate it. I’ve read a bunch, I just tend to like adult books better – a wee bit more of everything (including sex!), but it doesn’t have to have that at all for me to love it.
It’s that time of year when I am stuck indoors and I get time off, and I just wish I had THAT book on my Kindle. I probably do and don’t even know it. I am keeping my fingers crossed and hoping it may be Illuminae or Nightingale.
(I even thought about revisiting Clan of the Cave Bear recommendation, LOL – after that epic The Last Hour of Gann, I figured I had it in me to read a monster book).
ahh man, we should totally trade, you read Clan of the Cave Bear and I’ll read The Last Hour of Gann. CotCB is NOT YA. I’d planned on reading TLHoG either during the holidays or right after the new year. But…I’m flexible.
and…another…oh man…I really wish you’d gotten the hard cover of Illuminae. They were practically the same price on Amazon. The book is as much an art form as it is a story.
Anyone who likes sci-fi (even a little bit, *cough, cough* Lux series) should read Illuminae.
Sorry Maryse, I know you didn’t get into it. But, sheesh, when the punches started coming in that book they were a one-two-upper cut to the throat”. I will probably be all crazy recommending this one for the rest of my life.
I like book-punches!!!
book throat punches on top of that??? *gasp*
I need to pick it back up.
Feel better Tessa. That’s when I lay and put text to speech on. Sounds terrible but……
MichelleS, oh hope you like it. 🙂
I’ve always wanted one of those mixers. Just can never justify. Love the retro color types like the yellow and pink. Lol.
Ok, so I don’t know how to post cute little links. But… I wanted to share something.
Um yeah. 50k words. I’m going to go have that nervous breakdown that’s been waiting for me all month.
*hugs* Congrats Grey! I totally failed. That’s okay, though. Eventually I’ll figure out that death. It’s pretty awesome you did it! Yeah!
Tessa you did NOT fail… you started something BIG!!! When it comes to you the way you want it to… you will finish it. 😀
I can’t help it Maryse…I kinda cringe when I think of recommending something like The Tied Man or Her Master’s Courtesan to Ms. Maryse’s Momma. I feel like I should get grounded or something. 😛
LOL Fabi!! You tell ’em, my Kool-Aid drinkin’ friend!
Aw, poor Tessa. Being sick sucks. Here, I’ll make you some echinacea tea with honey. *hands tea to Tessa* Oh, wait a sec… *pours shot of whiskey in tea* There, that should take the edge off. 😉
CONGRATS GREY!!!! 😀 So proud of you, lady.
And Tessa…you may not have completed as much as you wanted to, but you still TRIED and I’m proud of you too for that!!
Bev, I thought of you last night when we went to see Spectre…you know, ’cause you like saying Moneypenny and all. 😉
GREY YOU ROCK!!!!!! :D!!!!!! *happy wiggle*
Grey- CONGRATS!!!!!!!!! So proud of you and Tessa. What an accomplishment!!!
Tessa, sorry to hear you’re sick. Nothing worse than being sick AND not being able to read. *hands cold medicine*
Fabi, you go girl!!!
Amy, I do like saying the name. I’m not even a big bond fan.
I read a review and they missed the old M aka Judi Dench aka Jean.
*snuggles Tessa and builds blankie fort around her and leaves Manny cozied up to her*
*Lysols blankie fort*
*snort*
Oh oh. Wait… was that me snort-giggling? Or am I getting sick? 😉 😛
We have got to stop making each other sick, lol.
Since we are all going to squeeze into this blanket fort couldn’t we, for Dec, squeeze into the Holiday cottage. Just looks like the best place to be for the holiday.
A huge congrats Grey. How many novels have you written? At least 3 right?
Tessa Kudos for competing. I wish I had even a smidgen of creative talent.
One clicked Kristen Proby’s Saving Grace. Loved her earlier stuff and at 99 cents can’t go wrong.
YAY GREY! So cool. Was always a secret dream of mine to write a book. So instead, I just read like an addict now.
Bev – love it so far! Marshmallows and the Escort… all of it.
CONGRATS GREY AND YOU TOO TESSA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
OMG SWEET RUIN!!!!!!!!!!!!!! AND BDB SPIN OFF??????????? I THINK I’M GOING TO CRY…..
Hope everyone (who celebrated) had a wonderful and thankful Thanksgiving! We of course had some brother drama but all is good…
So many of our favorites won the Goodreads Choice Award this year!!!
The Girl on the Train
The Nightingale
Confess
Golden Son
Red Queen
Queen of Shadows
and more!
Over 3 million votes – we are reading the best there is ladies…

Wheeee I LOVE it Fabi!!! 😀
By the way, Bev…I’m not a Bond fan either (hubby wanted a date night and I wasn’t going to say no ;)) and have actually only seen Casino Royale, so Judi Dench’s absence didn’t really affect me.
But OMG the guy sitting next to me!! There I was all comfy in the recliner seat with my popcorn, Hershey Drops, Twizzler’s filled licorice bites, Sour Patch Kids and vanilla root beer (all movie staples, of course) when the guy next to me starts making MOUTH SOUNDS!!! Clicking sounds, smacking sounds, loudly chewing, loudly gulping, trying to suck out every last drop of his soda…arrrrrrrgh!! Then, THEN he left his seat no less than three times, and everytime he came back he was out of breath and would breathe heavily through his nose for several minutes. DUDE!!!!! Then hubby had the nerve to sit there and giggle (grown-a$$ man was giggling) because he knew I was getting distracted and irritated. Other than that it was a good movie. 😉
Now I want sour patch kids. Listening to people eat, grr. Some just have this way of crunching, idk. Sorry you had that experience, but at least your husband had a good time.
Tessa! You did not fail. Any words written is a win in my book, and I am super proud of you. *super big smooshy huggles…and a special manatee and blankie fort just for you*
And thank you my dear book addict friends, I knew if any one would appreciate the sacrifices *read number of books that I haven’t read in order to write my own this month, LOL* it would be you!
