Good morning and Happy Monday everyone!! This weekend has been crazy awesome with the surprise early book releases, and today seems just as amazing!!! Take a look at what just went live. But first…
THREE THINGS:
1.) I’m pretty much into Billie Eilish right now. Is that weird? She’s kinda weird but holy moly, every song I hear of hers, just once… and I’m hooked. And they just get better. She’s got this… Fiona Apple/PJ Harvey/Lana Del Rey/Kate Bush feel to her. LOVE IT!!!! And come to find out, so many of in our book world (authors and readers alike) are totally into her, too. One author is even playing one of her songs on loop while she writes. Eeeeeep!!! That will be intense.
2.) THREE HUGE RELEASES (by some of OUR FAVORITE AUTHORS) just went live on Saturday so I added them to the top of the Friday Finds list! One dark bully book (L.J. Shen), one hilarious-sounding comedy romance (Tara Sivec), and one “falling for her best friend, as she’s trying to “find his match for him” (Melanie Harlow & Corinne Michaels) ➔ so check it out if you missed it!!
3.) Riders on the Storm: Waiting for the Sun, Part Two by Robin Hill JUST WENT LIVE EARLY!!! Our very own R. Renee!!!! 😀 I loved book #1 and now we finally get relief through this Duet conclusion. I can’t wait to find out where this one takes us. P.S. Here’s my review of book #1 (Waiting for the Sun)
Cheryl: ROBIN, DID I SEE THIS CORRECTLY…RIDERS ON THE STORM RELEASED YESTERDAY?!!!!!!! I’M SOOO EXCITED TO READ IT. *JUMPS UP AND DOWN* Think I will re-read Waiting For the Sun first. What great timing now that I’m done with the birthday and prom drama. Off to read…

Good morning! Happy Monday! I’m so excited about this week and am looking forward to reading ALL the books!
3 Things:
1) I’m so thrilled for Robin for Riders on the Storm! She has worked her butt off to make sure it’s the best it can be, and she definitely succeeded. It is an AWESOME book and is already getting wonderful reviews. I just know everyone is going to LOVE it! Congrats, Robin!
2) I cooked my first big meal last night since I broke my leg. It was just hamburgers and Italian sausages that hubs grilled, but I did all the prep stuff. My leg was screaming by the time I finished, but it was great to finally make a meal (kinda) for my family again!
3) Game of Thrones — OMFG!!!!!
YAY NAY!!!!!
LOL! I always love saying that. 😉
Also I am not caught up on GoT, but by all of the GASPING reactions yesterday, I sure wish I was.
I’m starving and your supper sounds SO GOOD!!
Thank you! And YOU are equally responsible for Riders so don’t even pretend like you aren’t. BEST EDITOR EVER. I could not have done this without you. ❤❤❤
Comment:.GOT was AMAZING!!!..
One word…ARYA!!!!!
OMG. Just OMG. Maryse, get caught up. That episode was pure emotional upheaval, from the tension at the beginning, the fear and anxiety in the center, and that end. GAH. It’s a lot of emotion packed into an action battle. More emotion than battle at a lot of points.
Drogon wrapping himself around Daenerys at the end…oh, my heart.
1. Bad night of sleep. Will be dragging.
2. Watching Epik High’s 1 min vlogs from their North American tour helped.
3. But according to one of the blogs I’ve been pronouncing Toronto wrong….since forever? It is the 4th video.
https://www.kchatjjigae.com/2019/04/28/favorite-things-epik-vlog/
I had great sleep, but woke up with a weird kind of headache. Like not awful, but tight. Like my ears hurt a bit, too.
Ugh.
Toronto, Canada? I lived there for most of my childhood!!
Uh oh. Hope you feel better soon and its not a cold coming on.
Maryse I’m not getting any email notifications.
I’m not sure, bev? Nothing has changed.
Is anyone else not getting email notifications?
I am…
Are they ending up in your spam box again? If so, you might have to whitelist them.
They are no where. I can try deleting all my subscriptions and re doing it.
I’ve also pronounced it wrong, good to know!
I have never heard it pronounced that way, lol.
Oh wow, I’ve been pronouncing it wrong as well. I had no idea.
There are a bunch of cities here in Washington which I had to learn to pronounce. I was kindly (and sometimes not so kindly 🙄) corrected after we moved here years ago and mispronounced the names.
YAY for California accent! I’ve never pronounced the t because it’s at the end. lol Who knew I wasn’t screwing it up like I do everything else?
I’m from California but still pronounced the hard T at the end. Puttin’ my Cali roots to shame here.
However, I do say some things certain ways which get me funny looks from others here. In fact, I was talking about the “5” one day (people here say I-5), and an older gentleman asked me if I was originally from California, LOL!
lol It’s funny when people give you an odd look because you say “the”, isn’t it? And you are from California and said CALI? 0.0 Tourist! 😛
Oh shut the heck up! Do you know how many times I’ve heard California referred to as Cali since I’ve lived here? It’s rubbed off on me. So neener-neener-neener! *blows raspberries*
So… since you’ve moved, you’ve become a tourist? *blows raspberries back*
LOL!! You cheeky little brat. 😛
P.S. Okay as for the “Toronto” pronunciation. Both are correct. I lived in Toronto from the age of 3 to 15. Depending on the areas, it is ToronTO (that’s how I say it), or the more “lazy” way of “Trono”.
I kind of liken it to a Canadian “southern accent” type-thing. Some of ’em even say Traunah. Just sayin’ 😉
I lived in ToronTO also and that is exactly how you pronounce it.
I wish I could like your comment, Susan. 😉
Hrmm… maybe I will bring that feature to our comments soon.
Thank you for sharing Maryse!
1. Four years later…Riders on the Storm is LIVE!!
2. I’m an emotional mess.
3. Nay is my hero. Like seriously. I want to hang a painting of her pretty mug over my fireplace. I probably won’t, but I want to.
Oh, please don’t! 😜
Comment:…Four years well spent! Thank you for sharing your beautiful words with us!! I loved every minute…well most of them…you know the ones I didn’t love…the ones that made me want to hyperventilate 😉
Thank you Michele!
Congrats, R! 😀
Thanks Amy!
Congratulations R, I just have to refresh Waiting for the Sun before I start Riders on the Storm.
I think Nay is everyone’s hero.
you have nothing to worry about Robin it will be fantastic. I know it already. ESP.
Thank you Melinda!
I finished an ARC of Riders yesterday and am here to tell you it was outstanding!! There were a few moments that I wasn’t sure my heart would survive… but here I am. WFTS was an amazing book and I gushed about it (and still do) but Riders really just made that duet something even more special. Now, it’s time for Robin to get to writing the next book…I’m ready…more please!! 🙂 Seriously though, job well done! It was sooo good!
Thank you Michele!! I cannot wait to get into the next one. Whichever one it is! I’m on the fence between Magnolia and Jane! BUT…I promised the hubs I’d try the whole “wifing” thing for a little while first! 😂
Comment:…Ok, well you’d best give him a little attention….
Nope still saying subscription fault.
Can you try on a different browser? What browser are you on? Maybe delete the cache on your browser?
I use chrome on my android. I cleared my cache……if I did it right and checked spam. 🤷♀️
Will see what happens.
testing the comment subscription from my “reader” account…
Okay that worked perfectly (and this account is not associated as the admin on the blog). I’m just “reader” on this one…
Quick question:
bev is getting a “subscription fault” when she tries to subscribe to the comments.
Are any of you able to subscribe to the post comments okay? I am getting all the comment updates and no errors when I subscribe, but am curious if anyone else is having a problem similar to bev’s?
Comment:…Mine indicated all was good…
Mine is fine too, Maryse.
I answered on the other post, but I’ll do so here as well. No problem subscribing for me.
1. My library informed me that they bought The Seven or Eight Deaths of Stella Fortuna by Juliet Grames that I recommended and that has never happened before. Now I’m number 1 on the list that releases May 7!!
2. The dog slept really well last night. I had to get up at nearly 4 so he could relieve himself and then again at 6:30 for good. A very successful night. Just need to figure out leaving. Well, he’s showing signs of another issue too. Boo. He’s growling (and snapping) and not in a nice way at my daughter and now she’s afraid of him. When she tries to pick him up. And also with the leash. Did to my husband with the leash today too, like he’s afraid all the sudden. And it was worse with hubs. I dk if I’ll put up with aggression if it progresses. I need him to be well adjusted to my whole fam, not just me. He’s so young, I wouldn’t think it’d be an issue.
3. J boy smells like dog food every time I kiss him. Because he was sampling a dog bone. Hahaha!
LOL!!! When I was little I used to sample the dog kibbles in the bowl. They were pretty plain-tasting and boring. Yet, I’d snack.
😉
And OH NO on the aggression issues. Maybe training?
Ew! I’ve sampled Kitty food when I was little and it was not plain tasting. LOL!
Is that crazy to have to do training at just 9 weeks? I mean obviously, we potty train from the get go. And we’re working on his play biting. Which is a LOT. And simple stuff like sit and treat training. I wouldn’t think we’d have to teach him right away to work with aggression. I don’t even know where to start. Besides the don’t sass me stuff and lots of interaction. Which we do, so? That’s a big one.
I’d talk to his vet. Maybe he is in pain from something.
I talked to my cousin. She’s a vet tech and her hubs is a vet. Really good with animals. She said if it’s true aggression you can’t train it out of them and I expressed my concerns with my wishy washy thinking that we can fix him before he’s too old to find a new home and I realize we’re in over our heads. She said to talk to the breeder, give it a week and see. I really want this to work so we’re trying hard. All the tips and tricks I’ve watched, I’m trying. He really is super smart. And I think he has great potential. He’s not like that all the time, but I don’t want it to be a problem.
Good morning, ladies!
1. Sweet mother of mercy, GOT nearly made my heart stop last night!! Not as many died as I thought would, and it can only mean the worst is yet to come. 😩
2. I’m at 40% of I’m Fine and Neither Are You, and I’m STILL enjoying it! The writing isn’t flowery or overly descriptive but rather the author packs a punch with her minimalist and straightforward style. The interactions and relationship between the h and her husband are absolutely relatable and just so REAL.
3. Again…GAME OF THRONES!!!!
I read a recap and got shivers when they mentioned….”Not today.”
All in favor of Maryse watching Game of Thrones NOW say aye.
Aye! Not for the action or fantasy, but the emotions, backstabbing, sadness, joy, and political turmoil.
Though the fantasy is pretty awesome. FROZEN ZOMBIES!
Aye, aye, aye!
AYE!!!!
*whoops* The ayes have it!
My 3!
1. My bathing suit came in and it fit. The only issue is it is one where the “bra padding” insert is removable. Um… I’m going in freezing cold water and jumping out again. I need that to stay in. So, I’ll be sewing that sucker into place.
2. So I’m trying to convince Dude that, yes, he wants to go to Disneyland. He’s almost 14 and I promised him he doesn’t have to go on the Ferris wheel. lol If only I could guarantee Baymax or Maui being there, it’d be easier. Perhaps Olaf? He thinks it’s going to be too loud and full of scary rides.
3. So… On a GOT thought, I’d like to say, far fewer people died than I expected in this last episode. So, Maryse, watch it! 😛
Me too, Tessa (re: people dying)
1. I’m excited about Riders on the Storm. Yay Robin! I need to go back and reread Waiting For The Sun before I start the shiny newie.
2. I might try American Witch. I haven’t read any Thea Harrison in ages. I haven’t been able to get hooked on the Lauren Gilley pnr series, though. Not enough romance for me, and too many vampires. Eek! She’s still a fav author for her MC books, though.
3. A shiny new release HR just downloaded onto my kindle this morning too! The latest Grace Burrowes – When A Duchess Says I Do. It’s second in her new Rogues to Riches series. I liked book 1 😀
BTW I seem to have been getting email notifications like normal. Didn’t get one yet for today’s post, though, but maybe it’ll come through later?
Thank you Jan!!
Did you all see Maryse’s new post?
