It’s getting crazy quiet in here. Like a library. I’m going to whisper from now on.
*whispers*
Which is kind of crazy cause I was sitting in a quiet place until a bunch of teens took over. I feel like an cranky old lady giving stink eye. Apparently I only like internet noise.
I loved the first Summer Games book, so I’m one-clicking the one above.
Also, can’t wait for the It End with Us. 🙂
Read November 9 today. Really good, well-written read with a couple twists. Just what I needed to get me out of the lighthearted, “fluff” books I’ve read lately.
Oooh. Didn’t know there was another Summer Games book coming out. *click*
I really liked Scoring Wilder and the first Summer Games book. This one might cheer me up on this gloomy, wet, wintry day……..
*whispers*
bev… I noticed. I need to break out the martini shakers, and peanuts.
YAY Cheryl & Jan! I knew that one would get a *happy wiggle*
Did someone say martini? 😀
Penny in London is out for iBooks only right now. I usually read kindle but I may just go ahead and get it here, I’m so impatient. Lol
What type of martini? It has to be park friendly, though. I’m watchi g little dude run around the playground playing tag and I don’t think alcohol is allowed.
Ok I get a kick outta this and have to share. This is before the first chapter or anything: “For legal purposes, we are required to include this note from Graham Glen: Piss off, Penelope Beckett!”
I wonder what books would be peanuts now?
Hrmm… for me it’s still Undecided. So if anyone is undecided…
*chucks peanuts at their foreheads*
Is there such thing as a rum coconut martini? LOL!
Tasha I’m waiting on that one… stalking it. I think it’s tomorrow but sometimes Amazon makes them go live early.
That’s not right! No coconuts. Yuck. 😛 Also, Undecided by who?
*throws a peanut at Maryse* Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone.
Whoa, right in people’s faces.
Tessa, Julianna Keyes.
Tessa, my go to for when I was at my kids soccer games, etc. was lemonade from chik-fil-a that I would mix vodka in. No alcoholic smell and just look liked I had a drink from chik-fil-a. Good times!! 😉
My niece just gave me a recipe for summer sangria. 1 bottle Prosecco, 1 bottle Riesling mixed with fresh grapefruit juice. Add in fruit and enjoy!!
*Throws peanut a Simon peanut at Amy*
*sits down*
I jogged over. I’m out of breath.
*runs in after Bev*
*leans over with hands on knees, gasping*
Damn Bev…you just KNEW I would follow you and your peanuts over here from Friday’s post, didn’t ya? 😉
Rum coconut martinis!!!
https://cocktails.about.com/od/Flavored-Rum-Cocktail-Recipes/r/Coconut-Martini-Cocktail-Recipe.htm
Oh if only. That sounds yummy. However, stupid allergies stop me from drinking lemonade. :/ Tonight I might go for something. I so rarely drink, it’s sad. I honestly just like the taste, but I hate the feel of a buzz, let alone drunk. I know. I’m weird.
Holy moly…27 Truths is MINE!! Since I have to wait for It Ends With Us (*side-eyes Maryse while she indulges in her advance copy* :P) at least I found my next read. *in a sing-songy voice* ——> I’m gonna get my hearrrrrt hurrrrrrt!!! (by a book though…only and always by a book! ;))
My Name is Simon…can’t do it. Nope. Just can’t. I’m getting choked up and teary eyed thinking about Rainfall and I. Just. Can’t. GAH I loved Rainfall even though it beat the sh!t out of my heart and then left me to try and mend it…unsuccessfully I might add. *covers eyes and clicks MNiS*
But you know what Simon won’t make you cry?
That’s right, Simon vs the Homosapiens Agenda, Simon.
Look, Maryse is reading it.
*”accidentally” covers Maryse ‘ s screen while pointing”
*covers face with hands and shakes head at Bev*
Amy, I’m with you on My Name Is Simon. Nope, NO, just can’t go back there. My stomach hurts just thinking about it.
Isn’t 27 Truths a series??
Cheryl, it’s part of a duet and I’ll probably be kicking myself if there is a CH. The author’s note after the blurb mentions something about other series but they don’t have to be read. Good for me because I want to read 27 Truths NOW! 😀
It wasn’t until after I posted that I thought, yeah….probably not a selling point for Amy.
Hahaha Bev, that’s so true. 🙂
Coconut martini cocktail. Mmmmmmm……….
*Squeeeeeeeee!!* thank you so much for the mention, Maryse! Alongside HP… I can now die happy, right!!?? Thank you all for the support and *sorry* ladies 😉
Guess what, I haven’t read ANY of the books you guys were talking about above *giggle* except Harry Potter of course *side eyes Maryse*
I just HAD to 1-click My Name is Simon! Yes, I’m a sucker for punishment!
I hope you enjoy it, Jean! *fingers crossed*
So……Jean. You like Simons?
*sits next to Jean*
Haha bev! You are so persistent! Yes, I do like Simons.
I’m scared Melissa! Rainfall really did a number on my heart (and stomach). Lol!
I see on FB that Maryse is losing her mind over the new CH book… she’s even predicting a 5 star rating. *grumbles* I need another 5 star read.
Ugh Grey! I wish it wasn’t so much money!
I’m at a loss… No ARC’s to review right now or anything, I don’t really know what to do with myself… geez. *twiddling my fingers!* Football season starts today for my boys. Happy August everyone… lots of us August babies around here I think I remember from last year!
I saw that Grey. I like CH, don’t love, but my reading buddy is obsessed with her and I hear this is the book that will convert me. We’re planning to start it when it hits my kindle tonight if you want to join us!
R. Renee and Grey- I plan to read the new CH book too. I’ll BR with you! 🙂
Tessa Bailey’s latest ” Made in Jersey” book 3 is out today.
Yay Cheryl! Let’s do it!
I like Simons! I will second the peanut for Simon vs Homosapiens Agenda. Loved that book.
Okay – it’s August, so time to decide what was my favorite July read. Easy peasy… definitely Wolfsong, by TJ Klune. Nothing else even came close. Sigh. That was such a fabulous read.
I am now on to book two in Exiled Series, by V. Dannan. Called “Crave”. Love it. Totally the kind of classic PNR I like.
I am SO all over CH’s newest book as soon as it comes out. As much as I’ve loved all of her books, the last 5 star from her (for me) was Ugly Love, and if Maryse is saying the new one is a 5 star then it will be a “drop everything” read for me. 😀 And that cover…I LOVE it!!
Wait…does it come out tonight?!?
yes Amy!! read it with us! Cheryl and I and maybe Grey!
R, I’m with you. CH is s total hit or miss for me. Ugly Love was a DNF. The hero’s voice sounded like a lady & didn’t feel the romance between the MCs.
*SQUEEEEEEE!!!!!*
*happy dance*
I lover CoHo herself. I follow her on twitter and IG and I think she’s freaking awesome. And very inspirational. But her books have never gutted me and I like my insides pulled out. I think this book may do that. *crosses fingers* I know I’m masochistic!
Amy yes it comes out tonight!!!!! 😀 I waited until the last minute to read it and OMG!!!
OK you guys! I’m in too. I just splurged and ordered it. Ugly Love is my favorite of hers, but really love all the books I’ve read by her. Never did get to Hopeless which I downloaded years ago……
Oh for crying out loud, you guys are totally blowing my book budget all to sh*t… yes, I’m in for the CoHo book. *grumbles about arm twisting and pushy book blog buddies* 1 question will there be drinks? silly question right? *giggle*
*shakes head at Grey’s silly question* Isn’t Amy joining us? Of course there will be drinks!
Silly ladies, OF COURSE there will be drinks!! Since “It Ends With Us” we will be having Bitter End martinis:
https://www.bistrobellavita.com/recipes/the-bitter-end-martini
Ugh! I have to bowl tonight! I wanna come to the martini pre-party! Oh well, at least I should be home about the time it hits my Kindle.
Jean…really?? REALLY?!? Woman! You have to read Hopeless! And Finding Cinderella was a nice little novella with just the right amount of emotion to go with it.
*sigh*
Again…really? 😛
MARYSE!!
Is it a Marmy read????
Is it? Is it?? IS IT?!?
Oh Amy it IS.
But I don’t want anyone getting assumptions just because it’s a Marmy book!!!! READ IT. Seriously!
Aw come on Amy, don’t give me a hard time. I broke down and bought It Ends With Us!
(Ummm and I assume you mean Manny not Marmy….unless I missed something)
Maryse + Amy = Marmy
LOL
Ya’ll are tempting me, but…idk
Okay now I have to wrote this review and I can’t say a WORD about it. LOL!! I mean… I can’t tell you what it’s about. You HAVE to go in blind.
LOL Maryse. At least it won’t take you long!
Thanks for clueing me in Jan! Started The Summer Games earlier and kept thinking it reminded me of Kulti…but since I also read Scoring Wilder maybe that is what it reminds me of. Either way, so far it is good…got high hopes for this one….
Sooooo…it’s a Marmy book but not a SCARY Marmy book.
Hear that, all y’all? Nothin’ to be scared of!!! 😀
Er… I dunno about the “not scary” part Amy. 😉
C.H. is hit and miss for me too. I like a lot of what she writes and how she writes and am into the books when I reading them, but then I completely forget what they were about after! except Slammed. That’s the only one that I remember. It was also my first CH book.
I’m still loving “Crave” and being in that PNR world. Tortured hero. The whole nine yards.
Weeeellll, all of her early books were big hits for me. But the last 1 or 2, not so much. This new one does not sound like her typical NA novels.
Hey girls, I read the sample of It Ends With Us last night on Amazon. The only format that was available was the paperback version so it was missing a couple of pages here and there. I was scrolling down reading the sample and then boom it went straight to the epilogue!! I immediately stopped reading it- just wanted to give y’all a heads up if you were thinking about reading the sample. What little I did read was great! I can’t wait to start it!
A five star Marmy book. But not one of THOSE Marmy books. Nothing else needs to be said. Trust me.
Lol.
I don’t trust it.
When I first read Slammed I was really into it. Then I read it again a couple of years later and I was like, Whoa Lake. Slow your roll girl. Those are some big serious consequences that don’t just effect you two.
*glares at Bev*
*chucks a peanut onto bev’s nose. Just because*
*glares at Bev*
Yeah, I think that missed me.
*chucks peanut at Bev’s head*
*cackles and drags Maryse into blankie fort to hide*
*pokes head out and blows raspberries at Bev*
Luffs ya Bev.
😉
Ha bev…..always the troublemaker!
R. I’m borrowing your projector.
*crawls into fort with it.*
*projects Sherlock on one wall*
*Throws popcorn at Maryse & Amy.*
It’s all yours bev. I’ll try to remember to remove Debbie Does Dallas first.
OMG!! MY EYES!!!
I just saw Debbie’s hoo-ha!!!
Good lord how Amy? It was the 80s!
Oh my, I can’t trust none of you all to behave for a minute!! My goodness! We’ve got nuts flying and bushes exposed… good Lord…
I wonder how the lack of grooming in the hoo-ha region was written in books. I wonder if it was mentioned at all.
I did! I did see it!! It was a big, hairy, scary monster!!!
Er, I’m *assuming* that’s what you were referring to…? Confession…I haven’t ever seen DdD 😕
“Haven’t ever seen” <—– Good lord, that was some awful grammar there. *snicker*
I haven’t really seen it either. Just flashes of scary…
Hey, a blog i read guess what the book club book is? Simon vs the Homosapiens Agenda, lol. They loved it.
Maryse, his favorite food is oreos, just saying.
My favorite are Oreos too!!!
*giggle* “flashes”, sure… that’s what they all say, *makes popcorn*
That’s enough if that.
*pops out DdD and tosses it over shoulder*
*puts in Sherlock*
Sigh.
Just listen.
*turns up volume*
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it…
*rocks in corner*
Find a happy place…find a happy place…
NO, Bev.
*puts finger against Bev’s mouth*
Don’t say it.
Stay away from bushes Amy…
and strategically placed hanging plant baskets
because behind the plant…
Haha Fabi! The figurative figure leaf!
OMG, have I not learned to not drink while reading this blog. Such a spit-take with all the comments above, and just ewww with the bush visual.
Can’t wait to start the CoHo book. I did read a little of the sample on Amazon. Glad I quit before getting to that epilogue.
I hope to finish Summer Games tonight. It’s good, but I’m surprisingly bothered (and not in a good way) with some of the “interaction” between the H and h. There’s a 9 year age difference and maybe that’s part of the problem.
Fabi, that reminds me of the commercial with the “grooming” shaver that has the 3 women trimming a bush that is strategically placed. Hahaha!
ha! I haven’t seen it but it sounds hilarious
Am I becoming predictable?
Lol.
Review is up. Maryse tells us nothing about the plot. I’m guessing split personalities or evil identical twins.
Tee hee bev!!!! 😉 It’s deeper than that…
I’m not looking at anything until I read it. I want total blindness.
Uh-oh. Um…ok. forget I said evil twin. Nothing to do with twins. Evil or nice. Really.
*nervous laugh*
I’d never spoil a book.
*whispers*
Uh-oh.
Bev!!! Please tell me you’re kidding! :’-(
Ok.
I’m kidding.
*hums*
*backs away*
You are soooo grounded bev! Amy take bev’s cocktail back!
So, who all is reading that book?
The usual masochists…and Fabi.
hahaha, I like how you put that…the usual, …and Fabi
idk about me, I went and read the blurb and I can’t say that I’d pick it if it wasn’t CoHo and peer pressure. I may wait to hear from some of y’all first. Me and contemporary romance aren’t getting along well right now.
Fabi you’re right about that blurb, but I realize now, why she wrote it kind of … generic like that. You have to go into this one blind.
I get absurdly happy when I get final jeopardy correct, lol. Even if I suck at the rest of the game.
Just read blurb. Not sure.
Though Maryse says it’s her favorite of the year.
LOL. Too funny, R is talking about the usual masochists and I just finished the new Tiffany Reisz novella…talk about appropo timing!
OMG bev I’m obsessed with Jeopardy but I’m behind. I just got the Beatles final jeopardy today and you’re right. Final jeopardy is everything!
Summer, Summer, Summer Games!!!!!
*dances out the room singing*
It’s here! It’s here!
Reading Graffiti Moon and am really enjoying it.
So it’s almost 9:45, I’m tired to the point of my head feeling heavy because of crap sleep last night and being up since 3:30, and I keep staring at It Ends With Us on my iPad.
Not reading it…just staring at it.
Because why would I actually start it?
Only normal, non-weirdos do that.
Good lord I’m freaking delirious and should probably sleep. *heavy sigh* I’m starting it tomorrow. 😉 G’night all!
Wait! What was it that was Maryse’s favorite read so far this year? I missed it.
I am waiting (for real) this time for some feedback on CH’s new book. I went ahead and bought BtB when it got all crazy frenzied here and then…. fizzle…. now I don’t know if I even want to read it. I will just wait it our patiently this time.
I finished Crave. Sigh. One of the best gestures of love ever. Ever ever. And I got my HEA. Yay. Now what?
MichelleS!!!!
Colleen Hoover’s new book is the one I love the most!! 😀
Okay. So go in blind with CH’s new book. It’s Maryse’s pick of the year so far. It’s kind of pricey, but worth it. I think I got it all!!! FINE. I’m going in…. and I might buy some Oreos while I’m at it.
I feel your pain, Amy, with the “crap sleep”. I got my new puppy yesterday, and let’s just say that it’s like having a newborn. UGH. OMG. The crying and howling for his momma. And the poop. Dear god with the poop. My other Havi was already 3 1/2 months old when I got him, so it’s been way too long since I have had a needy little creature like this. I might as well find a good book if I am going to be up every two hours.
Just finished Summer Games: Out of Bounds by R.S. Grey. I loved it! Great sexual tension between the characters. Mild taboo with him being her coach. I immediately went back and got the first Summer Games book (Settling the Score) because I want more Olympic hotness to amp me up for the real Rio Olympics. This author writes sexy sporty in way I can’t get enough of.
