Quite a few books went live today from tried and true authors, and I can’t help but rub my hands together with glee!! Especially over that one there to the left. I can’t wait to get started.
P.S. Don’t forget to check out my review for this 5-star book that I finished yesterday!!! It is going live tomorrow (but mostly likely at midnight tonight!!), the pre-order is bargain priced, and OMG IT WAS AWESOME!!! Book Review – Low by Mary Elizabeth —->
TODAY’S SURPRISE RELEASES!
- Beautiful Burn: A Novel (The Maddox Brothers Series Book 4) by Jamie McGuire IS LIVE!! MADDOX BOY ALERT! Okay it’s not so much of a surprise since we all knew it was releasing today and so many of us have been anxiously awaiting it… tee hee!! *sigh* The final Maddox brother and I’m hoping for that Travis-loving feeling!! And I’m hoping this is a great possibility ’cause even the author said: “You’ve been waiting for someone to make you feel the way Travis Maddox did. On January 31, the wait is over.” *happy wiggle*
- Alexei (Her Russian Protector #8) by Roxie Rivera <— JUST RELEASED & ALREADY #24 in ALL of Kindle books ALERT! TOTAL BAD-ASS ’cause he’s a “…former prize fighter and Russian mob enforcer…” *oomph*!!!! Also… don’t worry about the low ratings… at first I was worried when I saw quite a few of ’em but those are OLD “reviews” (more like comments) from readers that expected the release months ago, and that original release date was cancelled. (Her Russian Protector Series Reading Order)
- The Mind: Reluctant Romantics 1.5 (The Reluctant Romantics 1.5 Book 2) by Kate Stewart <— This is the author that wrote that book “Room 212” that we loved! 😀
- River James: Rockers of Steel by MJ Fields <— ROCK STAR ALERT! Bad boy rock star and good girl with a career… but “a chance run-in with a tall, dark, and handsome, silver-tongued drummer tests her strength and ability to hold her own tongue while trying to ignore the implausible attraction to a man she knows will be no good for her.”
- Hazed (Hazed & Unfazed Book 1) by Brittany Butler <— BROKEN BAD BOY BARTENDER & SHE JUST GOT A JOB AT THAT BAR… “When Taylor finds a local bar that’s hiring a waitress she applies and gets the position. However, one bartender leaves her questioning the acceptance of her new job…”
- Pearl’s Blaze (Devil’s Iron MC Book 2) by GM Scherbert <— DETERMINED BAD-ASS BIKER ALERT! “I will let her heal, but I will not live without her for much longer. She will be mine and there will not be a day that she questions who she belongs to…”
- Divine Ecstasy (The Guardians of the Realms Book 8) by Setta Jay <— Jennifer found us this one! (Thank you Jennifer!!)
- GENTRY BOYS (Books 1-4) by Cora Brent <— SURPRISE SERIES SUPER-BARGAIN PRICE for this series bundle! I know many here loved these guys! And here is the latest release, HOLD (A Gentry Boys Story) <— also bargain priced! 😀
Another release today many would like is Divine Ecstasy (Guardians of the Realm #8) by Setta Jay
Yay!! Thank you Jennifer. 😀 I added it!
I clicked on Low. Not sure when I will get to it with following Amy’s 3/1 ….or 2 pattern.
Makes me nervous. One that it will be like B&C. And I am not sure I’d like that.
Two, Sebring was a little hard for me in that the heroine was a part of the family business.
Cause, three, I’m usually like you and lean a lot more to bad boy/good girl.
If you are like me and loved the Russian Proctecter Series by Roxie Rivera. She also writes by Lolita Lopez and has a Sci Fi Series Grabbed that I devoured just as quickly as the Russian series. All 3 books so far in the series are free on Kindle Unlimited.
bev… trust me that the bad girl is good for a decent portion of the book (and retains a lot of her good-girl innocence throughout), and when things start going crazy, you’re so in, it’s fun!!
What is B&C?
Thank you Kathy!! 😀
I’d say she’s a good-girl with a stroke of badass.
Bonnie & Clyde.
Don’t know if I would be able to root for them if on a spree of killing cops & civilians.
Unless that is what it is, a dark crime type book.
Oh. LOL!!!!!!
I wasn’t ever into Bonnie and Clyde… I don’t like them. They just seem crazy and dangerous to me.
Although the B&C story is interesting. And while this is “like-ish that” (but MUCH nicer), this one has a whole lot more heart and good personality, and LOVE.
I’m finishing the Fall Away series by Penelope Douglas. Book 1 was Bully (4.5 stars Tate’s POV). Book 2 is Until You (5 stars, Jared’s POV, absolutely wrecked me!). Book 3 Rival (4 stars…although the way I plowed thru it… Makes me think I may revisit my rating and give it a bump later was Madoc and Fallon’s story). Book 4 is Aflame, and it seems to be back to Jared’s POV which I must admit, I really dig. But, wait just a cotton picking minute, *record scratch* wtf is this? it’s 4 years later and Jared just got a Skype call from his mama asking him to come home because she hasn’t seen him in 2 years and it’s time…and not to worry that Tate isn’t there. Um, I repeat, WTF?!?!
If you don’t hear from me the rest of the day, you know why… This damn series has held me hostage!
You guys! The first chapter of Kings Rising is up on Penguins site! Just read it and I can’t wait till Tuesday! Here’s the link if you want to read it: https://www.penguin.com.au/content/kings-rising/extract
Until You is only 1.5. You miseed one, Grey. 🙂 Jax’s book is Falling Away. It will make Aflame make MUCH more sense.
Anne!!!!!
“Take the fort.”
&
“He said,”Fight.””
Gah! Almost makes it worse.
Bev I know!! What is Laurent doing though? I think he knows who D is!
I’m having major issues with the fourth book in this series. The boyfriend MAJORLY messed up in the last book, and I’ve yet to see any anger or dealing. I’m hanging in thinking she’s dealing with other crap before she goes off, but seriously, the stuff he did would have me saying, “See ya!”
Which series Tessa?
Almost rented the Martian. But I haven’t read the book. And with how much it was loved, especially by our Fabi, figure I will read it first.
Probably watch an ep of the new Poldark with dinner. Have meant to watch this show for months. Any on here watch it?
Anne. I figure he has known for awhile. But is his absence been part of his plan?
Can’t freaking wait!
Sorry. Jane Yellowrock series by Faith Hunter. I’m hoping it changes and she deals with them after the supernatural crap, but if it’s quick forgiveness… hell no.
Tessa, kept seeing one of those books on sale. So overall do you like them?
I do! She’s normally very kick a** and really, in romance, it’s boyfriend. Not main male. I don’t know where romance stuff is going, thus why I’m waiting for her to smack him multiple times. I get that what’s going on is priority, but the way she’s talking, well, again, could be the deal with the now, later, deal with what he did thing.
Liked the blurb for River James. When I looked at the cover my first thought was that looks like Joey from “Friends.” *snort*
Even though you said Friends, I was thinking Blossom. Then thought he doesn’t look like Joey Lawrence. More like a Freddie Prinze Jr.
I spent the weekend with the Consequences series. Definitely one of the most mentally and emotionally taxing reading experiences of my life. It was the most unpredictable love story I have ever read. This series shocked me and twisted my tummy over, and over, and over again. I say “love story” lightly. This series is not for the faint at heart. If you like an easy love story or an easy hero/heroine, run far, far away from this series. Is it dark? The first book yes. But after that, it was more emotional than anything else. I would call it a psych thriller. One quality I look for in my hero, in a dark series, is redemption. That’s what makes it a love story for me. It’s here, but it doesn’t come easy. I wasn’t sure after book #1 it was even possible for me, by Romig’s superior writing got me there. This series is going to stay with me for a while. These kinds of feels don’t go away easily. It’s time for a glass of wine and a light read. Phew! I’m brushing the sweat off of my forehead. Well done Aleatha Romig! Well done indeed!
Anne, don’t make me more anxious but seriously after that teaser, I can barely wait for Captive Prince on Tuesday! I hope, I hope the trilogy finishes up on a high note…just like Morning Star the following week. Fingers crossed!
Tessa, I’m having the same issues with Chicagoland Vampires. I now remember why I didn’t continue with the series. One word. Ethan. He bothers me. He can’t change that fast (I really do not like him either way) and what he did to Merit I really wouldn’t forgive him in like the span of a book or ever. *sigh* I’m on book 5 but I dunno. I know what happens in this book already…not much and then a convenient fix. I might abort again. Have you read the series?
Oh and let me know about the JY series. I only have read the first book and apparently it didn’t grab me enough but if the same quick forgiveness is a theme, just no. No.
I might try Infinity by Shanora Williams tonight for a change up.
Amy! This is all your fault! Reading Therapy… Gah, it hurts… It really hurts…. My heart, where’s Manny? Man, I am not having a good weekend with the feels!
lol Michelle, I’m seriously hoping quick forgiveness is not happening. I like it, a little too much weapon love, but meh. She’s a bad a**. It’s not awesome beyond awesome, but enjoyable. However, if all ends up peachy with no pain or at least major something to the BF? That will be it.
Book 5. *clutches heart* Just finish book 5 and if at the end you feel it’s simple, okay. Stop reading. That’s the book that changed it from cute and fun, why not? to OMG must read series. Warning, that end was a DOOZY!
*hands Grey a insta-blankie fort, Manny and a shot of Kamikazee* Drink that. It’s nasty, but it should alleviate the pain.
Cristina. Consequences… I never forgave him. LOVED the series, but I never forgave him. I’m weird like that. I may hate the H/h but still love the book. Kind of like Fear Me. Kieran scares me. I would be changing my name and moving to a different country. I still LOVED the book, though. All that twisty angst and fear just keeps me entranced.
Tessa, are you thinking of the ending of book 4 being the doozy? I quit for now and switched to Infinity. I will keep going since it’s definitely entertaining but I’m just not into Ethan yet. Maybe he will redeem himself…yes I really do know what happens 😉
A-HA!!! So this is where y’all have been hanging out. And here I was over on Friday’s post just a-babbling away. Go me.
I know, Grey!!! It had me feeling so many different feels, and feeling them SO strongly. Here, we’re having pinot grigio tonight… *hands glass of wine to Grey* Need a snuggle as well? ‘Cause I love any reason to snuggle!
As for me, I think I’m about to get my mind f%$ked. Just how I like my books to treat me. 😛 I’m reading Every Ugly Word and holy moly, 21% in and my tummy is already in knots. I LOVE when I randomly find one like this and haven’t heard anything about it so I have no idea that it’s going to kick my mind’s a$$. 😀
On second thought, Grey…take Tessa’s shot. Therapy definitely calls for a mind-numbing shot like that.
And I am sufficiently intrigued by Low…5 stars? Daaaaammmmmnnnn, you are gettin’ all kinds of lucky with great books so far in 2016!
Michelle I hope it ends on a high note too! I’ve been waiting for this book for nearly 4 years so it better deliver lol!
Michelle, I got them switched. Then yep. Just stop.
Amy – what are you reading?!?!?
Done with Indebted – wow, for a while there didn’t know if I would make it. Kinda like hopping on a plane for a 18 hour flight and you are at the boarding gate….just want to get to your destination already! But oh so loved the journey…finished it late yesterday and could not bring myself to commit to any other quite yet. Think I need to reread a happy feel good – maybe fav passages only. Then I might need some alpha MC love from the new release list…Pearl Blaze….maybe…..
On another note *jumping up and down* Tuesday and Feb 9th releases are coming!!!!!!!!!!!!
Woohooo….Wicked Sexy Liar and Legend!!!!! *dancing around*. More excited about Legend – GAH! Hoping, praying it has the same feel as Remy but with a different shake to the story..
Apparently I have been in a book series coma…Distraction by Aurora Rose Reynolds comes out tomorrow also and at the end of the month….Beautiful Boss! *replaces I.V. drip bag with bag of caffeine*
LOL DG!! Bag of caffeine. I DO love my coffee…
DG, it’s Every Ugly Word by Aimee Salter. It has me feeling all kinds of intense feels, much like Therapy did. She has an “older self” that she sees in the mirror who tries to guide her without telling her exactly what will happen (and her older self appears to be quite a mess), and it has before and after alternating segments…before, when she was bullied mercilessly and her best/only friend (who she secretly loves) refuses to see the extent of it because he is friends with them, and then after, where something horrible has happened. Let me tell you, I need those “after” segments to break up the anxiety-inducing “before” segments
Tessa and Cheryl (and anyone else who read Groupie…sorry I can’t remember who all did!), I was going to give Rock Star a shot until this song came up on the playlist while I was driving…
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=NqEBhrSXXas
That song is SO Vanni, and it made me p!ssed at him all over again so NO ROCK STAR FOR ME thanks to a song!!!!
Chicago Vampire readers- do not stop reading- it changes again- Ethan turns it around. I’ll leave it at that. I am up to date with series and still reading so that says something. I have dropped allot of paranormal book series.
Terry Spear is so sweet my teeth hurt. Laurel Hamilton went of the deep end.
I still have others – The Beast is coming soon.
Amy, what a depressing song!
I am not starting anything today. Waiting for Kings Rising! Hopefully it’ll be up by midnight 😀
Yeah Cheryl, but is that Vanni or what? 😉
I finished Know Not Why, the light hearted romantic comedy about a 22 year old guy who is attracted to the 25 year old store owner… that one…. anyhoo… started out with a huge bang. 5 stars. Then I’m not sure what happened. Fizzled a bit. Second half, 3 stars. So…. 4 overall I guess? Still liked it a whole lot and would recommend it when you want a light, funny read.
Now what??? Captive Prince #3, still have a few days to wait there, right? So it has to be short…. on the hunt for a short read now….
MichelleS Captive Prince 3 (Kings Rising) is coming out tomorrow! I am hoping it goes up at midnight 😀
Pssssst…MichelleS! *whispers* Therapy. Or drowning Instinct. Or What I’m reading now, Every Ugly Word.
Just suggestions. 😉
MichelleS I snuck in Know Not Why over the weekend too. Exactly. It started with a bang. But for my sleazy self, it didn’t have enough smut. Still a very cute, sweet read. I think I rated it 3.5 on GR. Thanks for the rec. It made for a nice weekend read.
I guess I’ll be starting CP 3 tomorrow. Cause I wanna BR. It’s one of my fav things to do. 🙂
Amy, I’m sending you a bill girl… For Kleenex and chocolate and wine…and and and… *wah* omg 83% of Therapy I’m crying so f@*king hard I had to put the damn kindle down.
*quietly removes Therapy from Kindle*
LOL Fabi. That was one of the funniest “actions” I’ve read here…
*stares at Therapy with extreme trepidation*
I’m with you. I’m terrified of Therapy too. Nobody escapes that one without the massive ugly cry, I hear…. YIKES!!! What am I gonna do, ’cause I kind of REALLY WANNA READ IT!
Amy – I read therapy June 2104 – but I don’t remember much. Drowning Instinct. Sounds so familiar, but it is not on my Kindle, so I must not have read it. Every Ugly Word? Okay. Not sure I want to read about another person that’s 17. I need someone a bit more mature. Maybe…. hmmm…. going to download some samples.
*smacks hand on Fabi’s Kindle*
Don’t. You. Dare. 😛
Oh Grey…hun…I know what part you’re at and…um…*wrings hands*…uhhhhh…just don’t put the Kleenex away yet, m’kay? You’re still going to need them for a bit.
*opens another bottle of wine for Grey*
Oh MichelleS, EUW is so freaking…scratch that, F&$#ING intense with what she is dealing with that the whole 17-year-old thing doesn’t even matter. I’m a basket case right now, and you KNOW how much it takes for a book to do that to me. But I’m loving it!!
And Drowning Instinct…holy moly, I am so not kidding when I say that it is different from all of the other teacher-student books. I started it at one point and then stopped (I was probably in a mood), but when Maryse reviewed it I had to go back and BAM! It kicked my mind’s a$$. And my heart’s a$$. And my a$$. In other words, it was perfect. 😀
What is EUW??? GAH!!!!
Michelle S….Read Louder Than Love!!! More mature H/h, a widower and a washed up rock star. But its not really a rock star romance. Its just……amazing. One of my favorites.
Finished Therapy. Currently in need of therapy myself… Christ on a cracker… That was intense. I can’t even talk about it right now. I need to go eat my feelings. I’ll be back.
That’s why I read. To have all my asses kicked.
MichelleS Act Like It. Or Eyes of Silver Eyes of Gold.
You go through just about every emotion, right Grey?? And just when you think it’s going to ease up…BA-BAM!
EUW = Every Ugly Word. Holy freaking moly. ANXIETY.
*giggle* But it’s so FUN Bev!
Here’s what you’re gonna do…
— get cozy in the blankie fort
— make sure you have a box of See’s candy, some pinot noir, and kleenex
— muscle through Therapy, even the tough parts (as I know you can ;))
— get drunk and eat the whole box of See’s
— come here for snuggles
See? It’s a plan. 😉
Theresa, I’m not giving up on Chicagoland but I needed a break. They really are very good and addicting. I read 4 in a row.
And set up camera so we can see your husband’s reaction when he comes across you laying under a make shift fort drunken crying with a ring of chocolate around your mouth.
Here’s the plan Maryse. You read it. And I’ll sit back and watch your reaction. 😛
Yeah Maryse….you go first. Fabi and will be right behind you. Wont we?
*sneaks off to file Therapy away in the Do Not Enter file*
Doh. Fabi and I. Dammit.
Help! I’m so disappointed that City of bones by Cassandra Clare didn’t quite work for me. It could be me but I found it is too young adult if that makes sense? I’m currently in book rut and really like to read good fantasy/paranormal books (NO triangle romance) with good world building. By the way, guys, thanks for guiding me to Golden Dynasty by KA. Loved it!!
Hi Young. Sorry you didn’t enjoy City of Bones. If you found that too YA try A Discovery of Witches by Deborah Harkness. It is a trilogy but really good….the H/h are more mature.
Thanks Lisa! I will try a discovery of witches.
