Danielle is looking for a specific genre, ’cause she’s in the mood for more like this! And I have a feeling there are plenty of our fellow readers that know just the book recommendation for her (and for us!)
She asks:
Hi, i’m hoping to find a few good recommendations.
I’m on a bit of a kick lately having read
Linda Howard’s Tears of the Renegade, After The Night, and Shades Of Twilight, along with Karen Robard’s Ghost Moon, Sandra Brown’s Slow Heat in Heaven, Ella Grace’s Midnight Secrets: The Wildefire Series and J.R. Ward’s Bourbon Kings (just the first one of those since it didn’t really float my boat so to speak).
Anywho, I’m looking for similar books, contemporary romances with prestigious southern families.. think old money, complicated family dynamics (which Midnight Secrets was missing), big mansions/manor houses/plantations and drama or some suspense (I love me some suspense) 🙂
Can anyone give me some good recommendations??
(p.s. I’ve also read pretty much everything else that Linda Howard and Karen Robards have written, which include some other southern romances, but that aren’t quite what I’m looking for with the family stuff, although are undoubtedly still good)
Thanks in advance for any recommendations and for taking the time to check out my post 🙂
Anyone have some juicy recommendations? 😀
Lindsey: The Bourbon Thief: A southern gothic novel by Tiffany Reisz is really good!
Kimberley: Landry Family Series by Adriana Locke and they are all available on Kindle Unlimited!
Leslie M: Ooh, ooh…I got one!!!! Infidelity series by Aleatha Romig
Sherry: Oh she has to check out the Infidelity series by Aleatha Romig
Grey: Yep, both of the ones I was going to recommend have already been mentioned. The Bourbon Thief by Tiffany Reisz and The Infidelity Series by Aleatha Romig.
Trisha: Why not the “the royals” series by Erin watt? I loved those books. Lots of drama and wealth. Not sure if its southern though. But man I consumed those books in days.
Ashley: The Beaneath Series by Meghan March.
Jan: I liked the JR Ward book, although I haven’t read the sequel either. Alessandra Torre’s Hollywood Dirt is about a good southern girl and her momma too, although it’s not exactly a big family saga. But it is set in the land of old, wealthy southern families and beautiful mansions. It’s a great read anyway.
Jen: What about Sugar Daddy: A Novel (Travis Book 1) by Lisa Kleypas?
Dani: How about some classic Nora Roberts – Carnal Innocence, Carolina Moon, or Midnight Bayou?
Kelly: Old school – Gone with the Wind. Wasn’t there a mini series on TV during the 80’s that was based on books? North/South or something like that.
Alisa: How about some older classics–Kathleen Woodiwiss wrote several that are in the south with big plantations and family strife. The classic “The Flame and the Flower (Birmingham Book 1)” is always wonderful. It starts in England, but most of the book is in the American south. There is a sequel to that one as well, and she has a couple of others set in the south.
Trisha: Omg alisa!! Kathleen woodiwiss!!! Yes she is my all time favorite and I read “the flame and the flower” over and over. I just love all her books.

YAY!!! Keep ’em coming guys! 😀
