Reader Question – The book about the blogger that meets a movie star at a convention…

Oooooh fun! I LOVE famous actor/normal girl love stories, and the fact that she once debated with him (not knowing he was famous) makes it seem even MORE fun.

And Kate is trying to remember it. Now, she provides PLENTY of detail for us to figure it out, but I’m not 100% sure if it’s spoilery or not (could be just that these events happened at the beginning of the story?) so go into this question aware that it might be spoilerish.

I can’t remember the title/author of a book and it is driving me insane, I was hoping you or the other readers can help.

There is a girl who is a blogger/reviewer or something of that sort. She and her mother are going on a trip and

the mom dies in a car accident. The girl is injured badly and moves in with her estranged father and his new family, who are pretty horrible to her.

She makes friends with a girl whose two dads are costume makers and eventually ends up going to a comic con of sorts with a walking stick.

I can’t remember how it happens but she ends up meeting a movie star who turns out to be someone she used to debate with on her blog (I think she insulted him without knowing it was him).

There is an incident with paparazzi too. Any ideas?? I have tried looking through my kindle but I have so many books I don’t even know where to begin!
