LOL!!! This reader question is pretty much the whole story in a nutshell, but Robyn is looking for it desperately. So I’ve spoiler alerted a little bit everywhere in case you haven’t read this one yet but want to.
And for this that know it, we’re all ears!! π
She asks:
Ok Maryse, I’ve been pulling my hair out for months trying to figure out a book I read a few years ago. I read way to many books And can’t remember this title. Here’s the info I remember and I hope I’m not combining stuff that I’ve read from other books……see frustrating!
The book I think takes place somewhere I think in Afganistan because there is a war going on and it’s in the desert.
The H is a doctor of some sort and was also a soldier. He was kidnapped by the rebels and was forced to work as their doctor in a small makeshift clinic. He’s been their awhile when…

After they’ve been there awhile they fall in love and have a baby. The h finally gets into a locked door, an office, and alerts someone to help/rescue them. She and the baby leave first with the rescuers and then they come back for the H and get him. They meet up in a hospital in Germany.
That’s all I remember. I hope someone recognizes this book and I can stop thinking about it! LOL
Anyone know it?
No idea but wantbyo read lol
It is sort of reminding me of Vanguard but in Vanguard its a fictitious place and not sure re the baby?
I’m in a book funk and I remembered reading a book about a woman who rescues her estranged dr. Husband/lover in soviet-like country. Reminded me of parts of Bronze Horseman (the rescue part) but I could not remember the title and I was going to ask a reader question. So I go on your lovely blog and the first reader question I see posted (this one) answers my question . . . The book is Vangaurd!!!
IDK the name of the book this reader question is posing though
