Leonie needs our book help and this one sounds INCREDIBLE!!! I feel like I’ve read something similar (in regards to the child running errands for the mafia part), but I don’t remember the baby being found, so I’m anxious to know what this one is!

Hi Maryse,
I have been following your book blog for a while and I have read a lot of your recommendations. I would like your help in finding a book I read a couple of years ago and can’t remember the name or the author.
It is about a young boy, around 12 maybe, who doesn’t have a good upbringing and I think he lives on the streets while running errands for the mafia to get by.
While on one of these errands he finds a baby girl around 2 or 3 behind a trash can. The story is about how the two of them look after each other over the years and how he doesn’t want the mafia to know about her.
