We love this series!!! Okay to be fair we’re only 1.5 books in so far but it’s fast, gritty, super-sexy and fear-adrenaline inducing. You know… ’cause we’re on the run from a bad guy or two. Or three. Dangerous guys with bad attitudes, a swoonworthy tattoo artist (who’s pretty moody, too) fast cars, guns and the Vegas strip. Oh and tattooing right in a hotel room. And yes, there’s romance to top it all off, but it’s not the sweet and sappy kind and may not make you feel good in the end (I guess it depends on who’s “team” you’re on). Who knows? Only time will tell. Either way, I’m raring to go!
Kristina: On Every Street by Karina Halle.. Baby bejeezus I have become a full-blown Karina fan girl 🙂 This book gave me exactly what I wanted & needed. An inside look into the who/how/why of Javier & Ellie. Although I thought Camden from Sins & Needles was hot, I had this bad boy crush on Javier that I just couldn’t fight. I found him so intriguing & was dying to know more about him. OES delivered! Everyone is so flawed, but yet you still feel endeared to them. Can’t rave enough on how much I loved this story. I’m excited to see where it goes.
Kirsten: How is it that Karina just continues to wow me? So deep and emotional. I’m still thinking about it days later… how could he, and then he… ugh! I’m sticking to my I love him, but I hate him.
Maryse’s Book Blog: And don’t we LOVE when that happens? I mean the love/hate thing?
Jules: … It goes to show you how good the author is if she can get you to love and hate him.
Shanda: What is the best experience, should I read this first then move onto Sins & Needles or Sins & Needles then this???
Kirsten: You can read in any order On Every Street is a stand alone.
Lisa: I say read Sins first then follow up with OES, that is how most of us experienced it and it was so good.
Johanna: It doesn’t matter in what order you read them. Karina said she wrote OES as a stand alone but to have the overall effect. I would read Sins & Needles first.. I think it opens the door for OES.. Btw these books rock. OES is already on my favorites shelf.
Maryse: I personally wonder if I had read On Every Street first, if I would have been extra excited (or nervous but in a different way) for a certain character’s appearance in Sins (knowing what I do now, after reading On Every Street). But I read Sins first and it worked perfectly for me to do so! And I prefer reading in the order an author writes her books so… Sins first, then OES.
About book #1:
Ellie Watt is used to starting over. The daughter of a grifting team, Ellie spent her childhood being used as a pawn in her parents’ latest scam. Now she’s much older, wiser and ready to give her con artist life a rest. But returning to the dry desert town of Palm Valley, California means one more temptation than she bargained for – Camden McQueen. Once known as the high school weirdo, Camden is bigger and badder than the boy he used to be and a talented tattoo artist with his own thriving business. Ellie’s counting on Camden still being in love with her but what she’s not counting on is how easily unrequited love can turn into obsession over time. When Camden discovers Ellie’s plan to con him, he makes her a deal she doesn’t dare refuse, but her freedom comes with a price and it’s one that takes both Ellie and Camden down a dangerous road.
- Sins and Needles (The Artists Trilogy #1)
- On Every Street (The Artists Trilogy #0.5 prequel)<— it was written AFTER book #1 however it can be read first (either way is fine, however you’ll likely experience “Sins” a little differently if you read this one first…)
- Shooting Scars (The Artists Trilogy #2)
- Bold Tricks (The Artists Trilogy #3)
- Dirty Angels (spinoff!!)
- Dirty Deeds
- Dirty Promises (Dirty Angels #3)
- Black Hearts (Sins Duet Book 1) (spinoff!! Their kids!)
- Dirty Souls (Sins Duet Book 2) – March 19th 2017
Yea! Just bought it!
Maybe I’m a little weird but I had to go back and re-read sin after OES because the first time around I was crushing Camden until the very end and became intrigued by Javier. After OES I had to go back and read sins because I felt like my routing for Camden was almost cheating on Javier the first time around. I mean I know he did some hate worthy things but I had to go back and really scrutinize the small glimpse of him in sins to see if I, I mean Ellie could love him again! Weird right?
Nope I totally GET it!!!
I was tempted to re-read Sins knowing what I now know and see if I would experience it differently team-wise. 😉
So? Teammmmm…..?
CAMDEN!!! Was there every a doubt? Okay just a small one. 😛
LOL!!! BRAT!!!
omg, I just finished sins and needless, I think my heart is broken. I can’t wait to read On every street but I really can’t wait for the story to continue. Guess I will have to find another book to obsess about till then.
I can’t wait to see what you think of On Every Street, Leslie!
I am definitely team Javier. I totally love the anti-hero. He is unapologetically himself. There is just something sexy about him and his decisiveness. I would totally be addicted to his attention and love. I am obsessed!
I’m so mad at Javier …Grrr…I loved him, then I hated him, but I will always love Camden…can’t wait for Shooting Scars.
Maybe they’ll all live happily ever after 😀
hahahah!! Yah right!! 😉
So I think I’m the only one who read OES first! Just met Camden in Sins and I can’t stop thinking about Javier. I’m so mad at him, he ripped my heart out!
I’m scared and I need someone to hold my hand. Gah, sleep is overrated!
Thinking team Javier, but I want to kick his butt! I cant wait for the next book! Then we will have to wait again – sigh! I keep swearing that I am going to stop reading trilogies…
Ok…I started with Sins and LOVED it. Team Camden all the way, hated the other guy. Read On Every street next and LOVED it and Javier. It made me rethink what I thought of the relationship in Sins, so I decided to read Sins again. Now I don’t know what to think. Ugh! I love this series but now I hate what this author has done to me. Bring on the next one!
When does the next one come out?
Just finished OES and it hurt like a bitch ,but I FREAKIN loved it!!!!! I did however tweet Karina Halle and beg her for this to be a misunderstanding. Pleeeaaase. I love Javier and I need this to be wrong. *shakes head while muttering. ” just cant be” to myself* Soooooo I guess I’m team….well shit…..um … undecided. 🙁 Need the next book like yesterday. Anybody know release date?
I hear its been possibly moved up to May!! 😀
Thanks Becky! I loved your perspective since you started with the prequel. I can’t wait to see how you perceive it all after Sins.
I’m confused…. Not sure which book to start first. I haven’t read Sins & Needles but maybe I should read in the order she wrote them. What do you guys suggest???
Oh my gosh…. I never would have guessed it but I think I am team Javier now too! When he is good, he is just so… I don’t know- sweet but not mushy, still forward and direct, very manly but still sincere. And thats what kills me! Though I am dying to hear his reason for what went on! Hate him but just know there HAS to be something good there! I agree Lisa- it HURT. I FELT her pain in the pit of my stomach! It also makes me understand and like Ellie a little more, it gave me a better perspective for when I went back and re-read Sins. Anxiously awaiting book 2- May would be amazing!
Ok, so I just finished Sins and read OES first and here are my thoughts. I fell HARD for Javier in OES until…well, you know. Then, I hated him but I loved him and wished that it didn’t really happen. I was pretty much Team Javier at this point just hoping there would be an explanation for…. you know.
Started Sins and I really grew to LOVE Camden and hate Javier even more. So, I’m Team Camden (for now). I had totally written off these trilogies and cliffhangers but here I am again. Hopeful for the next release soon.
I’m so glad you shared with us Becky. Most of us read the opposite way of course and I was wondering what the feel would be doing it your way. I have to say that I love Camden when I read Sins. Hated, HATED Javier. Then I read OES knew what was going to happen, but swooned over Javier, until well a few things. At the end I was so conflicted because I wanted to get over everything, but I just didn’t know if I could. I then re-read Sins and fell in love with Camden all over again!
Karina is normally really great about the sequels. She bumped Shooting Stars up a bit to May and I am so anxious to see where all of this goes. Thanks for sharing your thoughts with us.
I read on every street first and then sins & needels I’m glad I did but I also felt someone was watching me I mean Ellie the whole time I was reading sins. 😉 both books were Intense, sexy, heart breaking and loved the *hellmouth* mention ♥♥ I can’t wait till shooting scars is out what will I read till then?
Read OES then Sins & I can totally so how your perspective would be different had it been reverse. That said…. I was sooooo upset with Javier at the end of OES, BUT even at the end of Sins I’m still Team Javier. I know, I know he committed the worst sin ever but I just can’t walk away. Lol. I absolutely cannot wait until the next. Sooooo happy it’s been moved up!!!
TEAM JAVIER!
He is so freakin hot hot hot!
I can’t wait for shooting scars to come out.
I like Camden, but am truly in love with Javier. I know it’ll be rough, but I’d choose Javier over and over again. Even though I’m still LIVID with him!
Ok, so I am a little late but just read these books and made the mistake of reading OES first…..I call it a mistake because I am in love with Javier and I have a sinking feeling she won’t be having a happily ever after with him! Sigh. Maybe if I had read Sins first, I would love Camden. I’m in emotional turmoil. A good book will do that to you! Thanks, Maryse for your blog! You have not steered me wrong once!
I am so confused. I see this trilogy and another one coming out that is called Dirty Angels. Well which one is Javier suppose to fall in love with? I don’t like books where they love more than one woman. So I am confused. I think I will start with the Dirty Angels and forget the first set. Sins and Needles trilogy. To confusing.
Can anyone tell me what Javier’s excuse was for cheating?
