I downloaded this werewolf series and was floored by how good it was. Nice long books, that capture you and tell an amazing story (werewolf pack issues, werewolf meets human – lots of danger and romance). I didn’t want to put it down, and this was another series that kept me up late into the night. I had one of my friends read it, and she said “I think I liked it better than Twilight”. That’s saying something cause she’s a Twilight addict.

The Mating was fantastic and whats funny is I downloaded it for free on my IPad and I had it for the longest time until I read a couple of pages and I couldn’t stop. Took me three hours i couldn’t put it down page turner. she is a fantastic writer I wish I could buy it in paperback.
I just have to say the mating series is amazing! I usually only read stephen king, dean koontz, type books not into all the lusting loins but the story was so interesting I just couldn’t put in down! I really hope a fourth book is to come! Thank! Penny

Normally I stay away from books about wolves but decided to give the mating a try,I couldn’t put it down I loved it and the finding now im on the third book which is another im hooked on.
Nicky Charles is a inspirational author , she has a deep passion for writing , i would love for these books to become a sequell of films , i can just picture the beautifull , breath taking lands in which these handsome, mysterious men live . I love the twightlight saga but my god these books top them by miles, 🙂 x

I loved these books. I found them when I was looking for free NookBooks right before I bought my Nook. I think there are a few grammatical errors, but she is an incredibly talented author. I loved these stories, way more than Twilight. I finished the third book last week and I still feel sad that I’m not reading about the characters anymore. I hope she heals up and continues writing about these characters!!!
So, i just finished reading the first one in 12 hours.. and i think they need to go ahead and make this a movie 🙂 featuring the lovely joe manganiello as Kane. even though he is older than the kane in the book. i couldnt help but think of him the entire time i was reading it! LOVE IT!! CANT WAIT TO READ THE OTHERS!

When I started the Keeping, I had no idea it was a trilogy. Because I enjoyed it so, I went looking for something else by Nickey Charles. Thus the Mating. Then I realized I should have read it first. Now I have started the Finding.

I found all 3 books for free on barnes n nobles nnok site. I cant believe it! to find a whole trilogy for free. What a great read they are. Once you pick them up you don’t want to put them down. Thanks again!!!! I hope there’s more to come!
I loved these books ! I was also looking at the free ebooks on barnes and noble and came across Nicky Charles and had all three read in a weekend. By far the best books I have read. Hope there is a fourth book and many more to come !

I agree totally with Ella. I know Nicky mentioned she is interested in the Sam character, but I’d rather read about Daniel and Tessa, personally. I hope Nicky’s arm is feeling better soon. Not just for purely selfish reasons of wanting to read another book about these intertwined wolf packs, either. 🙂
By the way – I found out about this author through reading “First Grave on the Right” by Darynda Jones. I really recommend her books. I don’t want to give anything away about her series, but I can say it’s about a private investigator named Charley Davidson who also just happens to be THE Grim Reaper. Her dad is a retired police officer who now owns a bar in which her office is located on the 2nd story of the building. Her uncle is still on the police department and uses her in some cases since she can see dead people. She is also very hotly involved with an intity that is other than human (like I said, don’t want to give away too much).
Just finished reading the 3 book series. (in a weeks time) What a surprise! Could not put the books down. Am so glad did not have to wait to see what happened after reading book one, then 2. Am curious to see if there will be a book 4. The story gets you from the very beginning, and draws you in to the lives of all the characters. Great reading.
The best free books I’ve read!!! I would have paid for these!!! They were sufficiently long to give you great insight into each of the characters and the situations. I was on a roller coaster with each one–almost like I was there with them. NC did a great job at bringing you into the story. I hope to see more from here SOON….

I’ve been reading Laws of the Lycan Series ever since she first posted The Mating. But I was wondering, what would you recommend for an e-reader? I’m really concerned about my eyes since I’ve noticed that my eyesight is actually getting worse the more I stare at my computer screen so I’ve been debating between an amazon kindle (since they advertise it looks like real paper) and an ipad.

As for reader, I’m reading on my iPad so it’s still sorta like a mini computer. I love it, but I’ve been told that the “eye” issues are simply from training your eye to look up close all the time (which us readers are doing). From how I understand it (as per my doctor ) he told me it doesn’t matter what we read on, the problem is simply that we are always focusing up close.
Therefore, since our eyes are constantly focusing up close for hours on end (books, at work on computers, e-readers), our “distance sight” eventually loses it’s perfect focus 🙁
Here’s a positive side to all of this. Supposedly (again as per my doctor) avid readers keep their almost perfect close-up vision longer than “regular” people who start losing their “closeup” vision naturally, once they hit forty. Apparently, us readers will have highly developed “close-up” sight and might not lose it as fast, (or as I’m hoping, we won’t lose it at all). Maybe wishful thinking?

I cannot believe you have not discovered fictionpress.com yet! That’s where most of the great indie authors that I know started out from. It’s this free online writing community, the only downside is that anyone can plagiarize your work.
And yeah, I read mostly on my mac though I used to love reading books but lately just haven’t had the time to look up any good ones so I depend on online reading communities which I’m a member of. It’s making my eyesight really bad. I just noticed a few days ago that I can’t even read the menu from my local cafe anymore. Thank god I remember many of items listed so I didn’t look like an idiot squinting at the cashier and the menu =/

I can’t wait for her fourth book called Bonded. She said it will hopefully be done by Christmas 2011. These are some of the best books that I’ve ever read, and I read a lot, and they are free! She does it because she loves to write. She is amazing at it! If you haven’t read them you need to ASAP!
And do you know who her hero inspiration is for it? She told me, and he’s awesome!
I finished all 3 books in about 2-3 weeks. I could NOT put them down- I am now a werewolf fanatic!! As I read each book, I imagined Bryan Fisher as Ryne and Kane and Bryan as Jake McDorman in AquaMarine lol. I LOVE these books!!!

I loved every last one of these books. As a matter of fact I really didn’t know what I was downloading. The last book was fantastic; it played like a miniseries on TV. I’m waiting for the next book beginning where the last book left off. It would be interesting to follow Cassie and Bryan as we did Kane, Elise, Mel and Ryne.
I’m so excited that Nicky Charles’s books are getting the love that it greatly deserves. I would’ve recommend her books sooner but I thought that she was a well known indie writer. I downloaded this series for free from barnes and noble for nook. I was expecting the normal free book…short, poorly written, bad grammar, horrible plot, etc. And couldn’t believe how great these were! I hope there are more coming…I would pay for it in a heartbeat!

All 5 books are free on Amazon. However, Bonded is named as a “Prequel to The mating” and Betrayed as a “sequel to Bonded”. I’m not sure of the reading order since I read the initial 3 in 2011, before Bonded and Betrayed were released.
