These books were just what I needed when I came across them back in January. Sweet, funny, and romantic but with just enough of that “real feel” that I love so much. These guys rocked my world!!
Found it by accident while looking for a new book, thought the synopsis sounded great (even though the book covers were, at one time, nondescript). Didn’t matter to me. The premise was right up my alley. It’s as if I was *magically* led to them and I was sucked in from the very beginning. They made me laugh like crazy, but I crushed HARD too. The “heroes” are gorgeous, sweet, and deliciously infuriating (driving their female neighbors crazy). In a bad way. And… in a good way too! And now they’re even better with the hot new covers!
My fellow readers agreed! This one took us by storm:
Johanna: “Maryse, I read these two books a couple of weeks ago. When I started the first book I was laughing so hard my hubby would look at me like a crazy person. I would shrug my shoulders and say…What it’s funny, then he would roll his eyes at me shaking his head. Jason is so funny and an easy guy to fall for although he can be annoying at times. The whole foodie thing is hilarious… Thanks for another great find ;)”
Lisa: “love both books. the third one looks good too. such a happy read!”
“Corrina: “Laugh out loud moments, the hotness and the romance!”
About the series:
Every neighborhood, whether it’s located in the best part of town or across the tracks has one very important thing in common: they all have the one neighbor that you wish you could club upside the head, throw in the back of your trunk, and dump a hundred miles into the woods all while giggling hysterically and promising yourself that this time would be different, this time he wouldn’t find his way back.
You know who I’m talking about. Its’ the person that steals your newspaper, lets his dog walk on your freshly mowed lawn, blasts their music at all hours of the night, steals your parking spot, leaves their alarm clock blasting twenty-four seven and just annoys the living hell out of you.
What if I told you that this person really wasn’t so bad once you got to know him and that by the time I’m done spinning you a tale that not only will you find all of his quirks endearing, but that you’ll fall head over heels in love with him? What would you say then?

- Book Review – Playing for Keeps (A Neighbor from Hell Novel)
- Perfection (A Neighbor from Hell) … This Isn’t my “official” review just yet, but I loved this book!! <— haha. I remember when I wrote this, I was going to visit my family in Canada, but posted this early in the morning before I caught my plane because I just couldn’t contain my enthusiasm.
I read both books and I agree, I liked them both. I have to say tho, that playing for keeps was my favorite.
Loved the first two books can’t wait for CheckMate!!!
I read both of the books in the Neighbors from Hell series and gotta say I really loved them. They were smart and FUNNY. The Bradfords’ need a 12 step for food addiction but that was part of their charm. I can not wait until the 3rd book comes out but is sadly not a member of the Bradford family. Lets hope for book 4.
I read playing for keeps straight through last night. I laughed out loud several times! It was a good read!
Playing for keeps was an excellent feel good laugh out loud book, especially after the emotional roller coaster of the last two book I read! On to Perfection “my little grasshopper!”
Here is the thing if someone can help me…I have read the first two books and loved them, so funny much needed relief! Anyways I would like to read Checkmate however I have a KOBO reader which I am starting to really dislike because I can’t figure out how to get half the books you all mention because they are not available on the KOBO site….I was able to download a program to convert some books from smashwords but unfortunately this and several other titles are not available there either. I am beyond frustrated and I guess I will have to purchase a kindle very very soon but in the meantime if someone could let me know if it is possible to find Checkmate to read on a KOBO that would be awesome. Thanks 🙂
I read all three books in the series and love them, however now I have the problem that I need something else to read. I’ve read all R.L. Mathewson’s books so I would be gratefull if someone could give me some recommendations for other books to read that are similar. Thanks!
If you want a similar feel I’d recommend Alice Clayton’s “Wallbanger”.
So good, sexy and sweet and Simon reminds me of a Bradford!

You made the dedication page,Maryse. So sweet!
what what whaaaaaaat?? I did??!
I found these books a couple of weeks ago based upon one of your lists. But I didn’t stop there – I now have read every single book that she wrote as well as the chronicles from her website. I love that she gives us these small epilogue updates – especially Trevor & Zoe’s twin sons, who are hysterical and holy terrors.
Yep,you sure did. It was short and sweet, but seemed very heartfelt . Loved ♡
Lol. Sorry I meant to write acknowledgement page…which i think is amazing. Hopefully you got what I meant :)-
I knew that you were mentioned somewhere else as well. Here is the link for the Chronicle for A Reclusive Heart ( which I loved) – anyway, you are specifically mentioned as the organizer for The Book Bash in this chronicle.
