Here’s my latest TBR list so I don’t forget. ‘Cause I keep forgetting. And I WANNA read these so bad, so I have like, 10 windows open on Amazon with a different book on each page… that makes me go “OOOOOHHH I wanna read thaaaaaat!” And then… I overwhelm my computer with too many open windows and programs going on, and then I have to reboot my computer to give it a break from my book obsession, and then… I lose ’em. *sigh*
So I’m making a list and keeping track of ’em right here. And this doesn’t include my 2015 Reading Challenge list that I’m doing. LOL! This is a whole other list. Yep. I love reading too much. I’m like a kid in a candy store, stuffing my face with a bite of each one and I can’t pick my favorite so I just keep clicking… So here are the latest 5 that are making me *squirrel* big time!
- The Hurricane by R.J. Prescott <—
‘Cause I keep hearing this one’s on the whole “Beautiful Disaster” love and bad boy level, and well… I’ve never stopped my search for the next one like that, to fulfill my “more like Travis” needs. 😉 We’ll see… we’lllllll seeeeee. We’ll see so much that THIS is the one I’m starting right now. And Marion just commented saying: “I’m currently reading The Hurricane by R.J Prescott, fans of Beautiful Disaster this is one you need to get to pronto! (I’ll even go out on a limb and say this one has got me more hooked than BD)” <— WHOA. I gotta start it NOW!!!READ!! Here’s my Book Review
Maryse: I’m starting it now!!! *happy dance*
Alyssa: Just finished it. So. Good.
Linda: I’m 60% into Hurricane and looooving it!! Get on it guys!!!
Alyssa: Gah. You are killing me. I need someone to talk about it!!!
Maryse: Already on it!!
- Kyland by Mia Sheridan <— ‘
Cause everyone keeps telling me this is on her “Archer’s Voice” level and y’all know how much I LOVED Archer’s Voice!! And especially now, since MichelleS loved it like crazy, too. “I just finished Kyland. 5 stars for sure! I had a lump in my throat and lone tears kept squeezing out of my left eye for the entire second half of the book. It was just so dang sweet and achy and beautiful. I’m totally in love with this man/boy right now…. until the next one comes along anyway. It had an epilogue, and all that angst…. just perfect.” MINE!!! 😀 READ!!!My Book Review - Confess: A Novel by Colleen Hoover <—
admittedly, it’s not out yet, but HOLY MOLY YES PLEASE!!! I can’t wait to read this. I’ve loved everything by Colleen Hoover so far, and I can’t wait to see what she came up with by way of how the “confession might be worse than the sin”. YIKES!! YAY!!READ!!! MY Book Review - Eleanor & Park by Rainbow Rowell <—
I HAVE TO READ THIS!!! Her name is Rainbow, it’s got 2,222 reviews on it so far (and they are pretty much all AWESOME, and #2 is one of my favorite #’s so it must be a sign). PLUS!! What makes it that much more of a sign that I need to read this is when our own fellow readers say: “So, I know I’m late to read Eleanor & Park but I’m loving it. I read almost all of it last night, just so good.” (that was bev!!). And then she said: “I’m so excited about E&P. Just one little plea, Maryse & Jean? If the audio is not working for you, please (see pleading) try reading it. If it had not been a library book I probably would of highlighted over half of it. Seriously, the writing is wonderful.”READ! MY Book Review - Three, Two, One (321): (A Dark Suspense) by J.A. Huss <— Mega-twisty and gasp-worthy… so I keep hearing. And I LOVE “book-gasping”! My favorite!
So far so good on Hurricane. There’s some repetition, where the writer keeps saying the same thing or making the same point, but I like the characters so far….
Me too… so far, good writing… has a similar “fighter/good girl” feel to others, but I’m hopeful it’s going to blow me away! 😀
You have to read Kyland!! It’s a hands down 5.0 star read!!
I agree Melody, Kyland sucked me in a lot quicker than Hurricane is.
I have to throw my vote to Eleanor & Park. Kyland was really good but E&P was great.
I’m reading it in snippets, so not very far at all, but so far Hurricane is alright.
Another vote here for Eleanor & Park. 😉
Has anyone read Love Hurts (Caged Love Book 1) by Mandi Beck? OMG, I was blown away!!! Within a couple of weeks of its release, it already had over 150 5-star reviews….and when I read it, I understood why…it’s freaking incredible!
I do love how they fall asleep together… even though they’re still in “just-friends” category. Warms the cockles of my heart. 😉
Bev – you liked Eleanor and Park? It sounds very Sweet Gum tree-ish. Is it? Put it on the list of Sweet Coming of Age stories…. another one-click… ya’ll are killing me here…
Maryse , please put Rough Canvas by Joey Hill back on your list, LOL!!!
I enjoyed Kyland, can’t wait to read Confess!! 🙂
LOL Lynne!! Okay I’m doing it! 😀
MichelleS, I loved it. Not really the same as SGT. A little of the same feel as the first 50% of Kyland. It has sweet but there is also some bitter. And the writing is wonderful, honestly if you read it you will want to post quote after quote. When you read it you’ll see why it got so much hype when it came out.
Bittersweet is a great way to describe E&P, Bev…between her crap home life and the slow development of their sweet relationship, it was a perfect balance. SO good.
I finished three, two, one last week. Wow. I read Eleanor & Park last summer and didn’t like it. It was just missing something for me. It was only a 3 star for me, like All the Bright Places.
I’m only at 35% of Hurricane but liking it so far. 3, 2, 1 and Kyland were both awesome!!
Eleanor and Park = I could read it again and again. Such a special book.
Amy, your so nice. 🙂
Have to admit you’ve made me re-think reading Kyland and Eleanor and Park. I don’t usually like high-school H/h, but these sound worth it. Adding to my tbr. 🙂
Aw, Bev… *blushes*
Cheryl…E&P. Definitely try it out. 😉 Kyland and Archer’s Voice are on my (stealing Maryse’s term here) short list.
Amy – you haven’t read Archer’s Voice???? Ermahgerd!!!! On The Island and Archer’s Voice???? Giiiiirrrrlllll…… what are you waiting for?
*ducks* Nope MichelleS, still haven’t read ’em. Come on, I’m trying to balance reading older purchases wth reading new ones that keep catching my eye! Sheesh, not helping here! 😛 No, I really am thinking AV and Kyland should be next for me since they seem to be sure things. My last couple of reads started out great and then kinda fell flat for me. 😕
Cheryl, yes read them!
Amy, you are going to give MichelleS a heart attack. You know what? I don’t know that I ever finished Archer’s Voice. =-O
I’ll have to go back to it soon. Right now I have so many lined up I have some of Fabi’s anxiety.
Ok, Amy & Bev, they’re on my short tbr list.
Maryse, did you ever read The Good Girl? I just got it from the library, but not sure if it’s my next read.
I started On The Island last night and was up reading until 3 am. :-0. Thanks for the nudge MichelleS. It was exactly what I needed.
I also really want to read Kyland but I have Archer’s Voice and Leo on my tbr. Aren’t those in the same series as Kyland?
Yay Fabi! On the Island! Now it’s Amy’s turn!
And yes Leo and Archer’s Voice are from same series but they are all standalone. Archer’s Voice was so much better than Leo IMO.
Just finished Three,Two,One & O M G! Fav book of 2015 so far!! so so good. SO Steamy, dark and jaw-dropping, loved it!!!
Out of those three, Archer’s Voice was the stand-out. Kyland was also good. Leo didn’t do it for me. All stand-alones.
I keep squirreling away from Hurricane. I want to finish, but nothing I’d happening!!! I need a fight. Some misunderstanding. Something…
And I second that yay, Fabi, for On The Island. I just loved that story. Isn’t he the sweetest??
Yes, he’s totally awesome.
I’m not that far in to the Hurricane. But I’m sometimes ok without the conflict or angst, yes I am boring. At times I just want a we’re falling in love story.
Though I love good conflict and angst als and the whole 80% something is going to happen heart in throat moments too.
I agree, not a lot of angst in Hurricane. I’m at about 50% and wanting some kind of fireworks. But Con is so sweet and caring….. he is seriously making me swoon!
I agree MichelleS, Leo was just okay for me, but Kyland and Archer’s Voice were unforgettable!

All of the sweet love talk, like with E&P, had me thinking of this song. I think it may be off of a children’s album, but love it.
“Til then your beautiful and I just stare.” Really great video too.
If I remember correctly AMY has not read Surviving Raine either which shocks me lol. 321 was definitely my kind of book 5 stars for me. I’ve read Leo,Stinger and Archers voice loved them all
Oh yeah Donna, LOVED Stinger too! And 3,2,1….. yep still can’t stop thinking about it and it’s been a week! I keep telling everyone I know to read it!
Amy never listens to us…. Blah!!!!!!
I read 321 at the beginning of the month and it was a 4.5 star read for me. I may be a little stingy with my stars, idk. But it was good.
Surviving Raine was, is, and will always be a 5+++ read for me. I will never forget that book. *cough cough Amy* it has plenty of angst
Fabi I agree about SR…all time fav! But for some reason I haven’t read Bastian’s Storm which has been downloaded since the day it was released!
Oh Fabi, in response to your message on GR, not really getting the BD feel yet with Hurricane but only half way through it!
Jean, it took me forever to read Bastian’s Storm too. I think I finally read it last month when I went on a mission to liquidate all my tbr from Nook. It was good. Really good. But I’m having a hard time thinking of any book that comes close, for me, to Surviving Raine. Maybe Bad Things by Krylov. But otherwise, I draw a blank. None of my other 5* reads come close.
Thanks for the update on Hurricane. I’m really enjoying OTI but I wish SR hadn’t come up in conversation because now I can’t help but compare. 🙁
Poor Amy, lol. I have to admit OTI seems like it would be a good Amy book.
Jean, speaking of not listening….E&P. 😉
I liked Bastians Storm but didn’t love.
What the heck, man?!? Is it gang-up-on-Amy day or what?? *attempts serious face*
😐
*snorrrrrrt* Okay, that didn’t last long, LOL!! I know ladies…I KNOW. Surviving Raine is male POV and I have to be in a particular mood for that if I want to feel the angst. So, there’s that. And 3,2,1 and OTI are on my short list. How about this…I’ll have them read by March 15. You ladies can hold me accountable, ‘kay? I was *going* to start Archer’s Voice today, but Thoughtful is out tomorrow and, well, that goes without saying. 😉 AV after Kellan, then Kyland, then OTI and then 3,2,1. Everyone happy now?!?!?!?
No.
Oh crap, I just opened a Pandora’s box with that last question…
LOL BEV!!! I literally snorted!
Too funny Bev and Amy.
Oh and Amy, 321 has plenty of male POV so you won’t like that either.
*stomps foot* Gah!! That’s okay if it is dual POV but it’s the all-male POV that stunts my angst receptors.
So *pblttttt* Fabi!
And *blah* right back at ya Jean!!
*giggle* You ladies are awesome. 😉
Maybe that’s why I didn’t love Surviving Raine-the male POV and Bastian’s Storm was a dnf. *sitting back nervously and waiting for all the comments about not loving SR*
Blahaha!!! Too funny bev! SR’s male POV is unlike any other make POV I’ve read… Just sayin’….
Ummm….no bev, didn’t get to E&P…. Was engrossed in The Summer Remains which I loved so much!!!!!
I don’t usually enjoy a male POV either, Amy, but Surviving Raine is right up there on my short list of all time favorite 5 stars books. Since they are both castaway books, I wouldn’t read On the Island and SR in the same week… they are so so different in tone, but with enough similarities that you’d compare. Based solely on which one I’d re-read, I’d pick Archer’s Voice or On The Island. You’re a big ole’ romantic at heart, so that will scratch that itch for ya’.
Jean – that reminds me that I have to put that on the list too (The Summer Remains).
I am seriously squirreling with Hurricane ladies. He’s big and sweet and she’s supposed to be a “math girl” with a reason to be scared of men… but it’s just not enough…. just saying all those things doesn’t make me feel them. You know? It may be a DNF for me….no one throw anything at my please.
So now what??? The Pact? Finish Life of Anna? The Martian? Eleanor & Park? Big Little Lies? What are you doing Maryse? Did you finish Hurricane? I wish someone would just tell me what to read, like Amy… you should be happy…. the rest of us are confused as sh*t.
Eleanor & Park!!!
Yes Jean you nailed that about SR!! Best male POV loved him. Tangle also had a great male POV.
Agreed donna on Tangled!
If one of us doesn’t read Eleanor and Park soon, bev is going to hunt us down! Lol!
MichelleS that was how I was feeling yesterday too. So again thanks for the push to OTI.
I agree that SR’s male POV is unlike any other I’ve ever read. I felt the whole story from HER perspective and honestly didn’t know it was a male POV book until you ladies started pointing it out. I like male POV but it surprised me when y’all started talking about SR being in male POV a few months ago because I honestly didn’t notice and wouldn’t have guessed. It’s different. People are probably going to love it or hate it. It’s too strong a book to be a “meh”.
LOL MichelleS! Did you read Thoughtless? *in a sing-songy voice* You know Thoughtful comes out tomorrrrrrrrow. 😉
Oh! The Summer Remains…tell me ladies, where do I fit that one in? Hmmmm? HMMMM??
I’m jumping on Bev’s bandwagon for Eleanor & Park. Until she kicks me off. *snicker* I just pictured us on a horse-drawn, old fashioned wagon and Bev doing this to me…
I know Jean… E & P is her new Written in Red…. LOL… just kidding Bev. You know how much I loved WiR…. which is why I believe you about E&P. I just don’t think I’m in a mood to cry, and I am thinking there’s snot in my future with a few of those on that list.
I think Shay Savage’s males are strong and as alpha as they come and she’s a fabulous writer, but, agreed, Fabi – you either love it or hate it – no “meh” at all… like Evan Arden… I tried, but couldn’t get into it. I tried with more than one book too!!!
Evan Arden? Is that the Beautiful Bastard series?
JA Huss author of 321 has a extra scene at the end that she will email you. Theres also a discussion thing on facebook with JA Huss about after reading the book. Just finish Monster Stepbrother dont know what I think about that one
Amy – I read Thoughtless and Effortless in Sept 2012, according to amazon, never read Reckless, since it took so dang long to be released, and I forgot the whole dang story by then. I guess it didn’t stick with me? I read them back-to-back, so I must have like them. ???
Evan Arden is a trilogy she wrote, and then he was the other guy in Bastian’s Storm, I think. Anyway, I read a couple of the books, and didn’t finish the trilogy. He was a fascinating guy, the story just didn’t grab me. I need a heroine to like, along with the guy, pretty early on – I realize – and that was missing with Evan Arden.
Oh yeah, and Donna? Don’t think I missed your joining in above with the others about what I *haven’t* read. I expect it from the rest of this motley crew but *gasp* not you! 😛
Sorry guys but I’m not starting any reading ’cause of Thoughtful tomorrow and I just changed my polish, so I’m gonna be sitting here a little bored for a bit…so I’m gonna bug y’all. Lucky YOU!!!
MichelleS, Reckless was pretty good, somewhat angsty at parts but not in the way you would think. It’s a nice wrap-up for the series. I guess for me it’s hard to top Thoughtless with any subsequent books, ya know?
Amy lol. Never. But now I have an image of the Ingalls girls in the back of Pa’s wagon.
MichelleS, I know I get obsessive. o_O
Ha Amy that gif was great! I’m still laughing!
I actually really liked the Evan Arden series so I’m curious to see if I’ll like BS since it has Bastian and Evan together.
So I’m feeling squirrelly with Hurricane too… not sure why… Can’t help but compare it to my favorite fighter book Real and nothing can compare to that! Remington Tate! Yum! Trudging forward….
Jean, promise no hunting down. Though would like to play in your snow. Could you imagine how creepy that would be? * Knock Knock* It’s me & my ereaders.
It is pretty bad when I’m posting songs that remind me of the book. Have not done that with WIR……..yet.
And now have the urge to listen to Werewolves of London.
Oh Jean ! I love Real ! Talk about angst. Ugh it killed me
Amy, I’m with you on Thoughtful!! squeeeeeeeeee!!
Oh! I remember Real…but the second one (Mine, right?) was the one that worked my tummy over with what they said went on when he was “black”. Anyone remember that? Or was it actually in the first one?
Bev…uhhhh, that’s another wagon we can ride together ’cause I post songs that remind me of books as well. 😉
Guys, that gif? You have no idea how many times I’ve done that to people in my head. 😛
Cheryl, ready? One…two…three…*SQUEEEEEEEEE!!!!* 😀
Omg, Real and Mine and SR and BT. You guys are reminding me of such awesomely great books! It’s making me even more sad. :-(. Although, I AM loving OTI.
I just finished OTI. What a beautiful story. I love endings like that. At the end of the book there was mention of movie rights. Has a movie been made from this book? It seems like it would do well on screen.
OK, next I think is going to be Room 212. I’m in the mood for a bit of a punch so I’m sure I can’t go wrong with one of Amy’s recommendations.
Still not that far into Hurricane, 40%, but I have to say that I’m not fond of the calling other women sluts. Sometimes it is fun to have the evil ex or what ever but just to randomly call strangers that bothers me. Especially, the girl is that word and the boy just needs to find a nice girl. :-\
And I like the nice girl stories, just…..ok off my rant.
Amy, love that gif and yes I have pictured doing something like that too many times!!!
I have Real and Mine on my tbr, guess I need to move it up along with On the Island and Kyland and E&P. But for now, THOUGHTFUL!!!!!!!!
