I’m trying a fun new activity with a large group of bloggers, that are dedicating this Thanksgiving weekend to reading!
I’ve decided to read as many of the books from “The Others” series by Christine Warren. I have actually started on One Bite With A Stranger (The Others, Book 6), which, in all actuality, as per the author, is the original book#1 (interesting publishing date issues).
I am on page 127. I started the book late last night and read sporadically until 3am (I needed to nap a few times 😉 ), before I finally called it a night and slept for real. I like the premise so far (good girl is enticed by her friends to live a little, and they take her to a bar to meet someone for a “fling”. She meets someone incredibly sexy alright, but he is actually a vampire. Captivated by her, he decides she will be his (forever), and seduces her, all the way to her apartment.
The initial interlude was…ummm… well….(I don’t wanna say), but eventually, Dmitri’s sweet side comes out as she sleeps. Mind you, she better like him back (TONS) because the tone of his affection for her, would indicate a very possessive male!
Okay, here are some answers to some questions posted by the hosts of Thankfully Reading Weekend:
Q: What book are you particularly thankful for?
A: EASY!! Twilight! While I used to read a ton as a teen, I slowed down significantly over the years. Twilight not only re-ignited my passion for reading, but introduced me to a whole new genre that I love.
Q: How did you celebrate Thanksgiving?
A: Spent a nice day at home with my husband, watching sweet family movies and making (and eating) food all day. Oh and I wrote my “Acheron” review.
Q: What’s in your TBR pile for the weekend?
A: The Others series by Christine Warren, and perhaps The Host by Stephenie Meyer.
Q: How much time do you think you’ll have for reading?
A: Mornings, and evenings (and into the night).
Q: Are you reading print, ebooks, or audio? Maybe a bit each?
A: I will be reading a bit of each (I have some books in the series, in print, and the others are e-books that I will read on my Sony Digital Reader)
Q: What books did you discuss at Thanksgiving? Did you get any recommendations you can share?
A: I discussed Acheron with some of my readers, and had a reader recommend “The Host” by Stephenie Meyer (which I have moved up in my TBR pile – thanks Mandy!)
Alright, back to reading. I’ll update soon 🙂
Sound like your weekend of reading is getting off to a good start! We discussed several books a Thanksgiving too — Boone (a biography), Gilead, and Willow among them.
Sounds like you have some avid bookreaders in your entourage! My book discussions are mostly held online, (although I now have my SIL that has just been recently converted into the Paranormal genre) 🙂
I’m thankful for Twilight too! I took a break from reading when my youngest son was a baby and it helped me my reading mojo back. Now I love paranormal/vampire books and I wasn’t even aware of them before I read Twilight.
Enjoy your reading weekend! The Host was a good book.
It sounds like you had a nice Thanksgiving. It was just my husband and I too. We went out for dinner as is our tradition when it’s just the two of us. 🙂
It sounds like you are off to a good start with your reading! I’ve finished one book so far and will start my second one soon. Not sure yet what it will be. I had something lined up, but the thunderstorm outside has put me in the mood for something else.
Enjoy your reading this weekend!
Thanks for stopping by Feline 😉
You know, we were contemplating going out for a nice supper, but then we realized, what about the Thanksgiving leftovers that we like to eat all weekend? So I baked 😉
Hi Nise! Thanks for the added recommendation. How did I wait so long to consider it?
