The H is a total type A personality. Her life is going exactly as planned. Until she wakes up one night and is NOT in her perfect life… or is she? And how does she go on when she is BACK in her real life? Oh boy. The twists are awesome, and I have no idea where it’s headed.

After reading her new book, DEEP WOODS, it is the first book on my 2021 Best Books List. If you are a fan of constant action from the first page till the last, then this is a book for you.

- Before She Was Mine (Wounded Hearts Book 1) by Amelia Wilde <— HER BROTHER’S BEST FRIEND ALERT!! NANCY 5-STARRED THIS ONE!!
Nancy: I loved this book! My 5* Review: BEFORE SHE WAS MINE was recommended to me by my own husband. I buy so many books for the Kindle and too many stay not read. So I’m glad my husband recommended this one to me. It was really good.

Some recent reads…needed some lightness…
Worth It by S.M. Shade & C.M. Owens – a fabulous & special quirky read…blends the serious with laugh out loud lines & actions by three close girlfriends. Great hotties. 3rd re-read.:) Highly recommend. 5★+
Two Weeks Notice by Whitney G. – strong stubborn assistant whose intense hot boss won’t let her quit. Well written, lots of chemistry & tension. Just what I needed. (another re-read) 4-5★
The Maddest Obsession (Made, #2) – a very well done and unusual mafia romance. About Christian, an intense witty mafia guy and Gianna, a quirky mafia princess caught up in the bad guy world. The story is great and the dialogue is stellar. Highly recommend, 5★
“Stepson: “Did you …..?”
Gianna: “Honestly, Dick, it’s the Lord’s day. Let’s keep the penetration talk to a minimum.”
Arcane Mage series by T.S Snow was really good.
Also Finding My Home series by Nikita Parmenter.
The authors Avery Song and Yumoyori Wilson have loads of reverse harem series and are sooooo goood. They’re absolutely indescribable, totally recommended.
- Sin City Outlaws Box Set by M. N. Forgy <— FIONA FOUND US THIS DEAL (and recommends these)!
Fiona: Just to let you and your readers know that there are 2 great book collections out at the moment for a steal…
The first is Sin City Outlaws Box Set by M. N. Forgy; you know how I love my MC books; well this author is just great; she has been writing MC books for a number of years now and I would have a lot of them;
there are 5 full length books in total here sharing the lives, loves of this MC club; a great author; would thoroughly recommend and such a steal!!
- Camorra Chronicles Collection Volume 1 by Cora Reilly <— FIONA ALSO FOUND US THIS DEAL and she highly recommends them!
Fiona: Another steal at the moment for the same prize is the Camorra Chronicles Collection Volume 1 by Cora Reilly another great author; I also love my mafia/ cartel books and this again I cannot recommend enough that you read; and get your hands on;
there are 3 books here “Twisted Loyalties; Twisted Emotions and Twisted Pride”; this is interlinked with Cora’s other great mafia series Born in Blood but you don’t necessarily have to have read this series;
but what storylines such angst, heartbreak, kidnapping, violence; sexual chemistry with the H & H’s, babies, families, brotherhood; its all here!

Hi Linda, I was wondering about Not What I Expected…thanks for the feedback!
I’m almost 30% into In Five Years and loving it. I have no idea where it’s going. It’s just a fun ride so far!
OH THIS NEEDS to be my next read. I’m in the mood for something unique with twists.
I LOVED that book!!! Enjoy and don’t try to figure it out…
I one-clicked it (price be damned!!! I needed it!!) and am reading it now. I’m at 16% and LOVING IT!!!
Yay! Buddy read!
You won’t regret it, amazing 🤩
I just started reading it too.
I never try to figure it out but sometimes it’s obvious. This one isn’t though, so far!
THAT CONNECTION though…
Yippee!! Buddy read. Then… buddy reviews…
I AM LOVING IT!! Also… I want to eat that bagel white fish she’s always going for…
I don’t even know what that is and I want one!
I was up ALL night reading. I forced myself to put it down at 78%. Everything hurts.
I started In five Years yesterday and finished last night, amazing 🤩 loved it.but at 50% OMG just wait 😳 5 big stars for me. I live for books like these, that you can’t put down
I’m ugly crying as quietly as I can next to my sleeping husband. Every few minutes I gasp tho. 🤣😭😭😭
Just finished Not My Match by Ilsa Madden Mills. She’s becoming a favorite author. I’m really intrigued by In Five Years. Just borrowed it from my library and starting it now.
I have 15% left and I refuse to finish it until I have a hangover book lined up. It’s going to be epic!! 😭
yup 🙂
I finished in the wee hours and it was really good.
No comments on the ending…mowhaha
I have a few thoughts, but honestly don’t know how this won’t hurt when I’m finished. *Scared*
I’m almost finished too, and I’m scared and I don’t wanna cry right now. Eeeeeeeep!!! Lately I’ve developed this awful condition of HUGE puffy eyes the next morning (like I mean like BALLOONS!! I couldn’t be seen in public) if I cry the night before.
And I had to work today… so… *gulp*
Thank you for the recommendation Cheryl!!
Maryse did you do a best of list this year?
I’m doing it this weekend. 🙂 I need to contemplate. LOL!
bev!! Read our buddy read book!!! In Five Years!!! IT IS EXACTLY OUR THING (your thing!!)
Ok. I’ll try some before bed.
Hi bev!!
Just in case you missed it when it went live yesterday, here’s my Best of 2020 post:
https://www.maryse.net/books/book-recommendations/maryses-top-ten-favorite-books-in-2020.html
*safe hug*
So many good ones, I’m excited!!
ME TOO!! I already decided to start In Five Years!!! I love when I have something awesome to read.
Maryse….seriously…are you trying to tip my TBR into the abyss?! So many great recs up there!!
I have one for next week…it doesn’t release until Tuesday…How to Save a Life by P. Dangelico….I absolutely loved it!
And what a great deal for Sorrow!! I loved that one too…I always love her stuff!!
YAY Michele G!!!!!
I’m reading In Five Years per the recommendations above and it is AMAZING so far!!! Got me hooked right from the start, and I’m already at 16%.
Wasn’t expecting to love the friendship between two women so damn much. Get lost in the romance, and forget how important our friends are. I’m not crying. You’re crying.
😂🤣
I will be. 😉
Ohhhh!!! In Five Years….*sigh* (a good sigh of course)
AND YAY!!! Maybe I’ll read that one next (How to Save a Life) since it’s going live soon.
Hi ladies! I know, long time and radio silence from me. Just busy with work and school. Again. But I’m taking a quarter off so I can finally breathe again, WHEW!
I’m jumping in and joining you guys with In Five Years. I’ve had it since last March but I’m finally picking it up. *rubs hands together* I’m excited!!
HI AMY!!! Smooch. Missed you. I’ve been MIA too. Came back, threw out In 5 Years, and Maryse took me up in it!!! Yippee!!! Buddy read. Missed this.
WE ARE ALL BUDDY READING LIKE IN OUR OLDEN TIMES!!!!!!! *happy wiggles* 😀 !!!!
I know!! It’s been waaaaayyyyyy too long. 😊 Let’s goooooooooo!!!!
MICHELLES!!! Smooches right back at you!
I’ve missed our “old-school” buddy reads as well. ❤️
It’s been a while since I rec’d a book, but I read one a few months ago and still get *those* feelings when I hear the song “Living on a Prayer” on the radio.
Because that was the song they were married to in Vegas (it was adorable).
One week before she left him with nothing more than annulment papers, a note saying “I’m sorry” and her wedding ring.
When I Was Yours by Samantha Towle.
It’s just the kind of intense emotions and past/present we love! And months later I’m still thinking about it…
Ooooooooh!!!! I love the sound of this one.!! I’ll be adding it to the next recommendations list! 😀
I’m telling you, he does NOT go easy on her in the present. They are both not over each other, but it is not a case of “let’s give this another go” at all. The hurt is immense, and I loved every second of it!
I’m going to second Linda’s Rex for “Not What I Expected”, by Jewel E Ann. She’s a one click author for me. Always creates relatable characters and her writing is just dang good. Now I’m in the mood for Jack & Jill series. Best ever!
I love her too. I need to get to a few of her recent releases.
I love anything she writes
You guys are so bad…yep, I’m reading In Five Years and it’s really good.
The guys are great… It’s hard for me when I know there’s likely to be a twisty ending. *nail biting*
YAY MONY!!!!! Epic weekend buddy read. Makes me so happy! 😀
me too… 🙂
I forgot I’m not a Marmy.
LOL! What did you read that reminded you of that? 😂
Let’s see if this works…
from Imgflip Meme Generator
🤣🤣
So true.
OMG LOL!!!!! I JUST SAW THIS NOW!!!! Poor bev. 😉 Sorry bev.
Hee-hee I’m a dork. 🤣
Lol.
That buddy read 5 Year book had too many tears for me.
But it also hit a little too close to home.
BTW I havent thought of Samantha Towle in a minute, lol.
Ok I read all day & just finished In Five Years!!! Wow!!! Twists & tears & love!!!! Yup in my top 20 for 2021!!! Bagel & white fish I want one now!!! Always love everyone’s recommendations they never let you down!!
YAY LISA M!!!!!!! 🙂 I’m so thrilled you loved it.
Just finished In Five Years. Um, *blinks* Bev, I’m with you, I’m not a Marmy.
Hi Amy!!!
Now I need something to get me out of this book hangover, like R. Renee said. Rainbows and Unicorns.
I like reviewing books. This is very helpful to me. Please keep on sharing.
