Where did they go? Currently seeking some of our missing favorite authors… Part two:

JD Nixon <— SO MANY wanting updates on this popular author (one of our original “indies” back when we first discovered their awesomeness!)

Mary: “…like so many above, I’ve read the Heller series and looking anxiously for #7. Does anyone know when it is to be published?”

Margaret: “…when is Hellers the family #7 coming out…..read one book a night couldn’t put it down…”

dot: “I’ve read all the Heller’s books are we going to get one after Heller’s regret, Please say YES!, I love them”

beverly: Also where is J.D. Nixon? She hasn’t released a Heller book since Jan of 2014.

I HAVE ANSWERS (sorta)!! The author has JUST posted this update on her Facebook page:

“Hi there. Contrary to any rumours, I am still very much alive. 2016 hasn’t been particularly kind to me and I’ll be glad when it’s over. I needed to step away for a while, but unfortunately my absence went longer than I expected, not really helped by a massive crisis of self-confidence. And yes, I sure picked a terrible time, so close to the end of both series, to start questioning my career choice as a writer. A bit late for that, JD! My apologies for my absence and I’ll answer all my emails and PMs in time. I won’t be very active on FB and I’ve deleted both my blog & website (both were crappy, so no great loss to the world), so I can concentrate solely on writing. Thank you.”

Amy J. Fetzer <— Nancy is wondering where this author is! “I have another author that I love and haven’t seen anything from for 6 or so years – what happened to Amy J. Fetzer? Her books were a MUST buy for me.”

I HAVE AN ANSWER (sorta)! Back in August 2015, when someone asked about the other two boys in her Couviyon series she replied:

“I tried but never wrote them because Harlequin didn’t want them. They felt I wasn’t established enough to do a second series (did Wife Inc for Desire) despite that I’d already sold about 20 books then. oh wait, I just remembered there was a second murder with involving the parents underlining that series.”

But when readers ask if she’s coming out with a new book (or when), those inquires go unanswered.

Pamela Ann <— Megan is wondering about this author’s releases, asking:

“Hi Maryse! Do you know what is going on with Pamela Ann’s release of Damaged? Every time it is about to be released, it’s cancelled!”

This is true… I’ve noticed a few preorders (including Damaged) becoming inactive/missing (or being moved up to a new day) once the original release date shows up. As of yet, NO UPDATES since June 2016 in regards to the release of another book… and no response to those asking about this one. I will keep checking.

Shayla Black <— Joy is wondering about a particular series by this author. She asks: “Hi Maryse, do you know if book 4 in the Doms of Her Life series by Shayla Black is the conclusion of the series? With the way it ended, it felt like it wasn’t but then there seemed to be hints of a possible spinoff that may tie up the end of the characters in Doms of Her Life. I checked the authors website but didn’t see anything and figured you may have some insight.”

Judith McNaught <— Michelle’s been wondering about the ebook versions of this author’s popular books! She asks:

“Hey Maryse: I have a couple of e- book related questions. Why might some books only be available on Nook (Barnes & Noble) and not Kindle (Amazon)? In particular I noticed lately most of Judith McNaught’s backlist is available for Nook but only one e-book is available for Kindle…”

Good news Michelle! Within the last week or so, this author’s entire backlist has been converted and is now available everywhere in ebook format. :D!!!
Amelia LeFay <— Janet is curious about THIS followup release. She asks: “So, quick question, any idea when the follow up to The Anatomy of Jane (WJM Book 1) by Amelia LeFay is coming out? Hot story, with a big cliffhanger! Thanks”

Jenn Cooksey <— Beverly is desperately seeking THIS author! She asks: “Maryse can you do another “what happened to that author” post? Like what ever happened to Jenn Cooksey? I loved her Grab Your Pole series, but she hasn’t published a book in the series for over three years.”

I HAVE ANSWERS!!!

At first she replied to a comment (back in August) stating:

Jenn Cooksey, Author: Hi, Marian! So glad to hear that you love my work! And don’t be sad…I don’t know where you heard that the GYP series is on a hiatus, because it’s not. Not really. I’m just trying to balance my personal life with my fictional one and have some health issues that I’ve decided to put some of my energy into dealing with as best I can, and with all of that, I feel that taking my time with book 4 so that I can do the characters and the series as a whole justice is the best for me and my family right now, but book 4 IS underway and has a dedicated beta reader.

It’s probably not going to be out this year, though, because it’s a very tricky book to write with a lot of detail to get correct, which has made it somewhat of a tedious task for me every now and then, so when I feel I need to take a break from writing it or when the gang decides they aren’t in the mood to play with me, I work on a few other books that I have in the hopper. But I promise, there’s more to come in the world of GYP…I just don’t have a date for when everyone will get it.

BUT!! She has since, just posted THIS update (for Grab Your Pole #4!!!) back in October!! 😀

Lynda LeeAnne <— And Ashley is looking for this author: “Hey Maryse, I remember you use to do posts about authors who have been MIA. Do you still do them? I’ve been trying to find out what happened to author Lynda Leeanne. I read a few of her books throughout the years, but can’t find anything recent. Love your blog!!” and Joyce is wondering, too: “Still looking for Mrs. LeeAnne’s 4th book in the series…?Hope she and her son is doing well.”

And she posted this back in March of 2015 (but there has not been an update, since):

Maya Banks <— Sue is wondering about the future of this author’s “KGI series” asking: “I have fallen in love with all of the KGI series.  I am hoping there will be more to come.  i look forward to reading more of them.”

AND I HAVE GOOD NEWS!!! The author has just posted (<— entire detailed post here)an update about her series (and the latest book coming out in it):

“…I can say this with complete honesty and no exaggeration whatsoever. This book was THE most difficult book I’ve ever written in my entire career and I’ve written close to 80 books now. It also took me LONGER to write this book by FAR than any other book in my career…

…So basically, this book GAVE ME FITS. Joe & Zoe (AND Rusty & Sean) were THE most uncooperative characters I’ve ever written in my LIFE lol. If they were real, I would have already choked them months ago haha.

But in the end, perserverence paid off as I REFUSED to give up and I REFUSED to turn in an inferior book. I wanted this book to stand along side all the other KGI books…

Brighter Than the Sun (KGI Series Book 11) is (to me) a refreshing change of pace and something I haven’t really done in this series yet, as it’s focused entirely on the Kelly home turf and the romance between Joe and Zoe blossoms BEFORE any shit hits the fan. And what I mean by this, is that in most all of the KGI books, there is a LOT of action and in most cases, the hero and heroine MEET because of a mission, rescue, or an element of danger etc and so the romance happens amid bullets flying, stuff blowing up, fighting, bloodshed etc hehe

So we get to see the entire Kelly family during a period of “down time” and we get to see the attraction between Joe and Zoe develop into something more before the world goes to hell.

Two new members of KGI will be introduced. One will be joining Joe’s and Nathan’s team and one will be joining Rio’s team *g*

Annnndddd yes my fellow Rusty/Sean fans. You’re going to see a lot of Rusty and Sean as we follow them on the path to their own book.

YAY!!!!!!! :D!!!!! Today has been an INCREDIBLY successful and fun “where are they now” author research session!!!
