Where did they go?

There are a few authors that have been mentioned over the last few days that some of us have just noticed are sort of… missing. I’ve been asked about one, which prompted a few more inquiries…

Lauren asked:

“Does anyone else scroll through their library….looking for something to read or even reread….& come across a book or two (or three) that you read a year or more ago that SHOULD have had a sequel but one never came out? Like Raising Ryann & Resisting Ryann….2 short books that I read about a year ago & were part of a trilogy that were supposed to be released within a couple months or weeks of each other but the 3rd book never came out. Or Love In Rewind that came out exactly a year ago…it should’ve had a 2nd book come out. Idk…just wondering if anyone else has this problem.”

Hey… yeah!! In fact, I just realized that the author of one of my favorite books from 2012 (Connected (Twists of Fate) by Jolyn Palliata), is missing from our book world. I found this out because exactly THREE years today, I reviewed that book that I just linked to, and when I re-read it, I realized the link to the book indicated the book was no longer for sale. So I searched… No Facebook page, no webpage, and even her books have been pulled off of Amazon. Well, I mean… her account is still there, but no ebooks, no paperbacks available for purchase. GAH! And she was so goooood!

Emma: I have A Modern Love Story by this author, but where did she go?

Of course, I’m only making this post for curiosity’s sake, in case some of our fellow readers have updates (or remember old posts) that might explain book delays or series issues.

Perhaps they…

• are re-releasing their books?
• are being published by a new publisher that will be re-releasing their books?
• are coming back under a new pen name?
• personal reasons…
• or…?

PLEASE NOTE: This is not a post to “flame” anyone (or encourage any upsetting comments). If the author has (temporarily or permanently) left the writing world, then there is no need to look too hard for them (nor post any of their personal information).  If they wish to remain private, please leave it as is. Life happens, and sometimes it’s best to “leave some stones unturned”, until the author is ready to come back again.

But, just for fun, let’s see if we can get updates on our old favorites that seem to have taken a step back.

Perry: I think these types of posts are so interesting and relevant. You see so many new authors every year but wonder how many stick around and how many disappear for whatever reason.

STEPHENIE MEYER <— Rebecca asks: “Stephanie Meyers? Will she ever write again?” and Christine is wondering too! “I think about this all the time! I would love to see another book from her.” Hey yeah!!! Where? What? Anything more? I LOVE HER! Okay… let’s investigate. So far I’m not seeing any new “books writing” news… She’s pretty big into making movies right now. Okay what I’ve learned so far. She (and crew) are working on Twilight “mini movies” – fan created! MTV says:

“… Meyer is resurrecting her beloved vampire series with “The Storytellers — New Voices of the Twilight Saga,” in which six female directors will take original screenplays and adapt them into short films set in the “Twilight” universe. Each mini-movie will tell an origin story of a different character, from Cullen patriarch Carlisle, to fan-favorite Alice Cullen, to prized Volturi member Jane. We’ve read all six screenplays, and Twi-hards, they are awesome.”

Variety reports that she’s also acquired the rights AND producing a film (Down a Dark Hall) with Lionsgate:

“Rodrigo Cortes will direct “Hall,” based on the 1974 novel by Lois Duncan. Michael Goldbach wrote the original adaptation with Chris Sparling now writing.

Meyer and Meghan Hibbett will produce via their Fickle Fish Films along with Godfrey and Bowen through their Temple Hill Entertainment banner. Meyer optioned the book last year.”

ALYSSA RAE TAYLOR <— Lauren wants to know what happened to book #3 of the Bad Boy Reformed series? “….2 short books that I read about a year ago & were part of a trilogy that were supposed to be released within a couple months or weeks of each other but the 3rd book never came out.” YAY!!! I FOUND THE ANSWER! She posted this:

“Thank you for reading the books. 🙂 I had originally planned to publish Breaking Ryann late February/early March, but life happened and I’m running a little behind. I’ve had three weeks of a family member in the hospital and my male English Bulldog swallowed a ball and had to get emergency surgery on his intestines. With caring for him and my three daughters in soccer, It’s looking like I won’t be able to publish until late April/May. I’m so sorry for the delay! I don’t want to disappoint my readers and rush the end of their story. I promise I’m doing the best I can!

TALI ALEXANDER <— Lauren is wondering about this one, too… saying “…it should’ve had a 2nd book come out..” YAY!!! I FOUND SOMETHING!!! She posted this back in January, but it looks like she’s writing #2 (Sara’s book) as we speak:

“Currently writing the next Audio Fools book… it’s not focused entirely on Louis and Emily, but you will see more of them .. and you might get a bit angry at one of them.. ‪#‎notsayin‬‪#‎comingsoon‬”

(and she posted this in March):

JOLYN PALLIATA? <— This is my own personal inquiry. I believe she took down her books in 2014 from what I can tell of the latest reviews I’ve been able to find. Does anyone know if she intends on coming back? NOTE FROM MARYSE: I can’t find ANYTHING. She de-activated her webpage and Facebook page… there’s nothing I can find except very old interviews and reviews… Let’s keep each other posted… UPDATE! Dennice found a little something, saying: “Jolyn Palliata has an active Twitter and goodreads account bookloversguilt, goodreads is set to private and Twitter does not have anything recent but still there. On one review site it slipped and gave what I’m assuming is her real name ***…, she was a self publishing author. There was a book cover on fb that was done in 2014, one could ask the artist if he knows anything….”

OMG SHE ANSWERED US!!!! 😀 *squeeeee!!!!* Here it is!!

“Hey there, here I am! I have to say, I was both surprised and flattered when I heard about this post through the grapevine.  Yes, I pulled up stakes in December 2014 to focus on real life. The intent was to stay gone, but my overactive imagination had other ideas. Just last weekend, I was chatting with a fellow writer and came to the decision to republish all but two of my books, but first I need to finish creating a new website. (Maybe I was subconsciously aware of this post?? The timing is uncanny. Maryse if you have that kind of power, please write a post about me winning the lottery. Thanks so much. KATHERINE ALLRED? <— Natasha wonders: “Same with Katherine Allred, even though her books are still on sale. Where did she disappear??” YAY!! I found her Facebook page… but alas… nothing in the works for now. When someone asked her if she had any new releases coming up, she said (back in January 2015):

“Nothing on the horizon, but keep those fingers crossed just in case.”

MARIAH COLE? <— Patricia asks: “I was wondering if you knew what happened to Mariah Cole? She wrote this awesome book Beautiful Failure (Beautiful Series Book 1), that ended with a cliffhanger. She said we would not have to wait long. Beautiful Temptation is book 2, and she has stopped posting on Facebook, her blog, or Goodreads. Do you have any information?” NOTE FROM MARYSE: I can’t find ANYTHING past her posts in 2014. All her pages are still active, but no updates or responses as of yet… Let’s keep each other posted…

CORA HAWKES? <— Author Cora Hawkes <— Marta wants to know: “I am also wondering about Author Cora Hawkes who wrote “Rocked Under (Rocked series Book 1)”  where did she go?!?!?!? She stopped any kind of social network in 2013″ and Sonia is asking, too: “Do u know what happened to cora hawkes? She seems to have disappeared… Loved “rock under”… Or rocked under…. ( can’t remember). I know she was going to have a book 2 but she just seems to have fallen off the planet. Any insight ??” NOTE FROM MARYSE: I can’t find ANYTHING. All her pages are still active, but no updates or responses as of yet… last updates were in 2013. Let’s keep each other posted…

MAIA UNDERWOOD <— Christina asks “I’d like to know if Maia Underwood is going to write book 3 in the Shattered World Series.” NOTE FROM MARYSE: I can’t find ANYTHING. All her pages are still active, but no updates or responses as of yet… last updates were in 2012. Let’s keep each other posted…

BEC BOTEFUHR <— Graine asks: “I wonder where Bec Botefuhr has gone, loved her books!” YAY!!!! Marta knows!!! She says:

“Bec Botefhur is now writing as Bella Jewel if I’m not mistaken ” and Feifei agrees! “For Bec, I’m pretty sure she’s writing as Bella Jewel now.”

and Bella herself, came and confirmed this information! She says:

“I am humbled to see my old pen name on here. I never publicly announced my switch to Bella Jewel purely because of a family issue that would take an entire page to explain. I don’t have a stalker though – so that’s a plus.

As for the books removed/uncompleted as Bec well those are currently being re-worked and re-editied to be released under Bella Jewel. I intend on finishing the series when that happens. When I started writing I really had no idea about real editing. It was just a big “Yes I wrote a book, get it up” so therefore the editing and structure were poor on those books and so it is taking sometime to spruce them up in between Bella work but I am recreating those stories and when all my traditional publishing is out of the way I very much plan on continuing them 

So that’s one mystery solved.

JULIE BALE <— AnnE asks: “Julie Bale” Well… looks like there was a response to a comment inquiring about the release date of “The Chaos In Me” back in January 2015 where she said:

“…There are so many reasons why this book has been delayed but most are private and won’t share in a public forum. Please know it pains me that it’s taken this long and I have nothing but my sincerest apology. It’s was never my plan to be so very late with the continuation.”

NOTE FROM MARYSE: This author is also well know author JULIANA STONE (she writes under a few pen names and her Facebook account for this author page is still quite active). AND!!! On this Facebook page, one of her fans asks if “Julie Bale” will be coming back and she responds:

“She will be, I just can’t say when for a lot of reasons. I’m so sorry this book is so long delayed… Thanks for being so understanding. I know there are a lot of people who are disappointed the book is so so late. I feel for them but I can’t do anything about it until I can, if that makes sense. “

TARA JANZEN <— Nancy wants to know: “what happened to Tara Janzen and Linnea Sinclair? LOVED their books, but there’s been nothing new for years!” YAY!!!! I’m seeing she’s been fairly active on her Facebook page, and it appears she was part of a successful anthology not too long ago, and has responded in regards to her current work in progress just a few days ago saying:

“…still working on the CRAZY HEARTS novella – plan to publish it this summer. Need to get a cover designed!”

and here’s a little more info on it:

“Well, babes, I am writing a short story/novella starring Dylan and Skeeter – thought for sure I’d have it published by now – but “real life” got in the way and slowed the book down. I’m planning on writing one of these short story/novellas for each of the chop shop boys and girls. Anybody have any ideas for a series title – like “Steele Street” is the series title for the Crazy and Loose books?? Or should I just stick with “Steele Street”?”

LINNEA SINCLAIR <— Nancy wonders… where did she go? YAY!!! Well… sorta. 😉 I have a bit of info. From what I can tell from her Facebook posts (and she’s pretty active on it!), she’s going to be attending RT this year and possibly helping with a workshop! And it appears (at least from her webpage last year) that she’s a part of numerous writing workshops.

KATJA MILLAY <— bev is asking about one of my favorites!! “Ok, so I’m thinking of one who is not “missing” but curious if any news about a new book from Katja Millay?” and Hella is wondering, too… “Katja Millay also came to mind while reading this post.” YAY!!! We have some news! Katja answered a reader just yesterday and indicated she was working on another book!

“…And yes, I am currently working on a new story.”

and she also responds to another inquiry saying:

“…I’m working on a project right now though it isn’t a sequel to TSoT. “

MAYA ST. JAMES <— Lindsay is looking for: “Maya St James – I really enjoyed the first two Pawn books but she has disappeared prior to publishing the conclusion and her books have been pulled from amazon and iTunes” NOTE FROM MARYSE: *sigh* Yep… so far nuthin’ on this. She posted in February 2015 that there was an outage and her Pawn 3 release was going to be a few weeks late (due to recovery efforts and revisions)… then she posted in early March that it would be released that weekend… and then… nothing. So I’m personally wondering if the recovery efforts did not recover as much as she thought she did? And sure enough, for now, it seems that she has pulled her #1 & #2 from Amazon, also. Let’s keep each other posted…

IRIS BLAIRE <— Nicole wants to know: “I’ve been kind of wondering that about Iris Blaire. She wrote Exposure, which I loved, a couple more in that series and then just disappeared. I didn’t even realize the third book (Aberration (East Park Book 3) was out until this post popped up and I searched her. There wasn’t really any mention of it…I think I even posted and tagged her on Goodreads asking where she went, but heard nothing.” UPDATE FROM MARYSE: Yep… it does appear that she’s been pretty inactive on her Facebook page since 2014 after her release of #4 —> Shut Up and Model for Me (East Park Book 4) although this appears to be a series bundle of the 1st 3 books (plus a short story + a sneak peek at the next standalone spinoff). But nothing published or updated since. Hmmmm… Her Twitter has been de-activated, her website no longer has updates, and her Facebook page hasn’t been updated since Sept 2014. Let’s keep each other posted…

LAUREN HAMMOND <— Kaycee asks: “I would love to know what happened to Lauren Hammond’s sequel book, ‘Yelling Out Loud’. It’s meant to be the sequel to ‘A Whisper to a Scream‘ that ended in a cliffhanger. Goodreads says book 2 was meant to be published in 2013 but doesn’t look like it’s been published or even written yet! She is the author of the awesome Asylum trilogy.” NOTE FROM MARYSE: While the author has been fairly active on her Facebook page, it looks like there’s not much of an update JUST yet on “Yelling Out Loud” She did mention this “overall update” back in January 2015:

“Like I stated in a previous post, I had had some pretty severe personal setbacks so it has taken me a while to get back into the swing of things. It also left me undecided on some of the novels that have sequels, however, I have decided to move forward with a few of them.

For other sequels, I can’t provide release dates at this time, but I can say that Just South of Biloxi will be the final book that goes along with The Asylum Series.

That being said, I’m sure you can expect some other awesome books from me in the future!”

and Dec 29th 2014, she did bring up the sequel to the book you are asking about, saying:

“Just to keep everyone up to date, I’ve had some pretty severe personal setbacks over the last two years, but I have some good news…..

I have started working on Yelling Out Loud (Whisper two). I can’t provide anyone with any release dates as of yet, but I’m pasting a snippet below and for those of you who have been waiting very, very patiently thank you so very very much.

I hope you all enjoy the teaser and I hope 2015 turns out to be an epic year for you all!”

ALTHOUGH… when a fellow reader asked about the release of Yelling Out Loud on April 9th, 2015, the author answered:

“Thank you so much! If I decide to release it, I will be sure to let you know!”

And WOW!! You guys! She’s accomplished (and accomplishing) so much! Not only did she author those 3 books a few years ago, she’s also a blogger for a successful fashion/cooking/lifestyle website and a lawyer!). Here’s a video from just last year, where she discusses her life!

GWENDOLYN FIELD <— Lauren wants to know! YAY!! I have an update. It appears she’s a successful “traditionally published” YA author that has many books out under a completely different pen name, and she doesn’t want the two pen names to cross… for fear that her younger readers will come across Gwen’s “darker” reads. But she updates us (January 2015) with this:

“Aaah, friends, I need to come clean with you because I’m continuing to face challenges with writing Josef’s book. Here’s the thing – I want to be honest so that you know what to expect, and I hope you’ll understand why I can’t give all the details. As some of you know, Gwendolyn Field is a pen name. Under my real name I write young adult books, and though many of my fans for the YA books are adults, a great amount are teens, so I don’t want to link identities (I’d be pretty horrified if a teen excitedly ran out to by Escape From Paradise, not realizing how dark and disturbing it is.)

So, I’ve been writing YA for five years now. In 2014 I hit bestseller lists for the first time. It was CRAZY. Things sort of changed at that point. I gained a 3-book contract with a “big” house, and I have been very busy trying to make all of my deadlines. I love writing YA, but I also feel horrible that I’ve neglected the sequel I’ve promised Gwen fans for over a year now.

All I can say at this point is that I will do my best. I don’t know when you can expect Josef’s book or anything new from me. I could get a sudden rush of inspiration this week, or it might not come for a long while. I’m very sorry. I hope things settle down soon. Thank you! RAVEN HART <— Tricia is looking for her… “I’m wondering what happened to Raven Hart – author of the Savannah Vampire Series. I know her writing partner died, but she said she was coming back with the next in the series and then it kept getting pushed back, and still nothing. That series was so great, but the last book ended on a cliffhanger!” UPDATE BY MARYSE: Hrmmm… no mention on her public fan page about her own books (well not much anyway other then when a reader tells her they love her books) but she DOES promote the heck out of her friend Skye Falcon. Both of ’em, bird names. 😉 Her website is still up but no news… ALTHOUGH! Here is a discussion about Raven Hart on Amazon (goes all the way to 2014). She IS working on another book in this series, it appears (and will likely self-publish it).

DEENA BRIGHT <— Jesse asks: “what about deena bright?” Hrmmm… good question! She’s extremely active on her own personal Facebook page and lists herself as an author, of course. And her header is her 4 books in one bundle is the header, PLUS it’s on Amazon right now (although it appears she removed all of the single releases) and just kept the series bundle. I don’t see any news about works in progress so let’s keep each other updated…

AMANDA HOCKING <— Lauren wants to know!! “The one that kills me the most is the 3rd Hollowland book by Amanda Hocking. It was supposed to come out 2yrs ago!!! I loved those books!” UPDATE FROM MARYSE: I’m not seeing much in regards to any Hollowland posts however she DID write this update about her delays for ending the “My Blood Approves” series so I have a feeling, it likely is the case for Hollowland, too. Okay! Here is the latest comment (Feb 2015) about Hollowland (from her Facebook page) and it’s not much…

AVA LORE <— Angie is desperately seeking Ava. “I just began reading a really great series to only realize the 4th (and likely final) member of the band’s book is not out – Ava Lore’s The Lonely King’s series. She last posted in December 2014 about a scene she was working on and has since disappeared from her website, twitter and facebook. Would love to know if she’s ok and still planning to release Hard Rock Reprise (The Lonely Kings #4).”

Yep… it looks like her last appearances were back in 2014 (on her blog and on Facebook) and last word (over a year ago) was:

“In case anyone is wondering where I am, I am staring at an approximately 92% completed manuscript of Hard Rock Improv and this book has been giving me THE HARDEST TIME. I have been struggling to get it right for well over a month and a half now and I’m so close I can taste it, but the end keeps retreating like the horizon. It will be out. Soon. I’ve been slaving over it and trying to get it as good as can be… Incidentally, this is why I loved writing serials. When writing serials, there’s no time to agonize over whether or not it’s ~*perfect*~, but when dealing with full manuscripts the perfect is the enemy of the good, and the good is the enemy of the published.

I’m dragging myself toward the end. I like the book. But it doesn’t like me.”

MARIA G. COPE <— Andrea & Denise are looking for her (and I remember how popular her first book was, “Bottom Feeder“. SOOOOO popular. Everyone loved it, so yeah… where did she go?) Andrea asked: “I’ve been wondering what happened to Maria G. Cope. Her first book “Bottom Feeder” was awesome. It’s currently free on amazon! She had posted that the sequel called “Lowlife” would come out last December, but I haven’t heard or seen anything yet….” and Denise wants to know, too: “Can you please find anything about Maria T Cope, author of Lowlife? Hundreds of us are waiting for the sequel. Thanks.” First I found this (legal issues with her publisher for her upcoming release): And this one on Facebook back in April 2014. And the last time she posted on her Facebook page was back in November/December 2014, and perhaps this is quite “telling” as to it’s missing status:

“My regular job (although I love it, some days the burnout is evident in every aspect of my life) takes up a lot of my editing and writing time, so I am still working on the final FINAL edits for Lowlife. Yes, it’s still coming out in late December.”

HOWEVER!! She’s been quite active on her Twitter page and just in April 2015, tweeted this:

“Took a lot of time off from writing to read more, think more, & listen to what my characters have to say. I think it’s time to write again.”

UPDATE 10/02/2015!!! Book #2 has finally been released!!! 😀 Lowlife: A Bottom Feeder Novel by Maria G. Cope —->

ELIZABETH AMBER <— Yvonne asks: “Looking for Elizabeth Amber, author of the The Lords of Satyr series. I love those books and can find nothing about her.” Yep… nothing since 2012…

TABITHA MCGOWAN <— Kristi is wondering: “I’ve been waiting patiently for a sequel to The Tied Man by Tabitha McGowan. Has anyone heard anything about that?” GAH!!! YES. The Tied Man FREAKED ME OUT! (here’s my review). Okay… I researched. And yes, after visiting her public Facebook page, she posted an update May 31st 2015 and has just suffered a tragedy, losing her beloved partner of 20 years. 🙁 And to be expected, she is taking a break from writing right now. But here’s a little teaser from back in March 2015 of her upcoming sequel “Unbound“. And another LONG “Unbound” teaser (which at one point in May, she announced it’s release would be “This year, and sooner rather than later :)”

ERIN NOELLE <— Tracy is wondering about one of her series! “Translucent (Luminous Book 1) by Erin Noelle ended in a major cliffhanger and I haven’t been able to find out when book 2 will be published. Do you know anything?” I DO KNOW Tracy!!! Erin will be releasing “Transparent” on October 15th 2015!!

CRISS COPP <— Michelle asks: “I was wondering if you know anything about author criss copp. Really anticipating her next novel. I can’t seem to find anything about what happened. Thanks love your blog.” Michelle!!! I KNOW THE ANSWER! While she hasn’t updated her Facebook page, SHE DID JUST finally release book #3 that everyone was waiting for!! Resilient (A Pretty Pill, #3) is now live on Amazon (as of a couple of weeks ago)!

CHELLE MITCHITER <— Kim is wondering about this author! “Great update, you answered several questions for me. I have another mystery for you, what has happened to Chelle Mitchiter? She wrote “Evelyn Vine be mine.” I loved that story! She still has her website up, but hasn’t been active on it for years. I would love for you to solve the mystery. Thanks for all you do!” OMG Kim! I remember that story!! The brooding drummer that never talked. YES!!! And I even emailed her WAYYYYY back when and asked if she’d be continuing this series and putting it on Amazon or in a way to read via our e-reader apps… but I didn’t get much of a response back. Back in 2012, she replied to me:

“It needs to be properly edited I believe before I put it on kindle and I would also need to sort out a special tax number etc for earning money in America while living in Aus.

With the overwhelming number of people requesting to buy it – even though it is free here, I guess I had better get it set up!”

But I haven’t found anything more, today. BUT!! Look I even found my “mini review” of it!

“Evelyn Vine Be Mine by Chelle Mitchiter – 4 stars (review to come… fun read, slightly angsty, and full of romantic tension. It had all of my favorite things… “friends” that sleep in the same bed together (and do only that – keeping it sweet and platonic). A hot bad-boy rock star drummer that is tough as nails and nobody will mess with (and all of the girls want). He doesn’t speak much but that’s part of his charm, because when he does speak… *sigh*. Loved it overall, very very steamy, and sweet as anything, misunderstandings, jealousy issues, the works. But… I just wish “she” was at least 18 considering the intensity and detail of what I read. In fact I was under the impression that she was an “adult” and that I must have missed her birthday or something, only to realize that wasn’t the case. And that is my only complaint. The book could have worked just as well if they were both adults (considering they were both in university).”

LYNDA LEEANNE <— Neika is looking for this author! “How about Lynda LeeAnee author of Lexi, Baby (This Can’t Be Happening Book 1), and 2 other books from the “This cant be happening” series? She announced well over a year ago a 4th installment to the series…but nothing. Kinda missing her alpha“ OKAY I have a sort of update!! Her last update on her Facebook page was March 2015, and she explained that her son had some health issues that kept her from writing, but things appear to be better and she’s back! She wrote:

“I know a lot of you have asked if SHANNON, BOSS is going to be published, and some have asked if you should just give up on me – which, by the way, hurts my heart to read; however, I completely understand the frustration. I should have let y’all know what was going on sooner, but every time I logged in to post a comment, I just couldn’t find the right words, then I got depressed, and then I logged back off. But that’s done now. I’m in a better place.

Shannon, Boss is coming. It’s pretty much finished, but I have some cleaning up to do. I expect to be done by the end of the month, and then my editor has to make it fancy. I will publish it the second it’s done and share right away.”

and another update in May:

“…I’m so sorry I haven’t given an update. I’ve been working on the story like crazy the past month, but my son had a couple more visits to the neurologist that messed my time up a little. So I’d say two more weeks, if that…”

So that said… my personal feeling is that she’s still tending to her home life right now…

Tessa has some answers for us on a few “missing” authors. She says:

Kalayna Price is one who stopped, but it is due to personal trouble, so I get it. <— Kathy answered: “Kalayna price just recently posted that she is back and a book is due out next year.“:

“Breaking my long silence with an update, finally. It is looking like Grave Visions should be scheduled to hit shelves in February 2016. Thank you everyone who has been waiting. Future releases will not have such huge gaps.”

J.S. Cooper wrote a prince series which I loved so much, but she can’t figure out how it ends.

Worst, the worst, is L.J. Smith. She write the Night world series, wrote 11 books, then her mom got cancer before number 12 was written. Totally get stopping for that.

However, then Vampire Diaries became a TV show, and she started writing extra stories for that. She teased scenes for the last Night world book… Then, she gets fired from writing the Vampire Diaries, because she won’t follow the TV show. So she writes it as fan fiction. The whole time, I’m still waining for that last book! Lol. At this point, its been 15 years. She could just say, boom, then they all died, the end, and I’d be happy. Just to finally end the darn thing!

MADELYN ALT <— Cyndi asks: “Madelyn Alt – her Bewitching series was great – until she quit? Missed a predicted date? Quit posting about books? Anyone have any idea?!”

Regan: Any new news on Madelyn Alt? I can’t find anything since 2012 on her. I loved her bewitching series.

Amy: I am also wondering about Madelyn Alt. She wrote a book under a different name at one point prior to her bewitching series but only one. I would really love some closure on that series as well. And I hope she is ok.

Maureen: I was also wondering about Madelyn Alt… she vanished. Im dying to know what happens next for Maggie and Marcus!

Catherine: I have been searching for more information on Madelyn Alt as well. Completely disappeared August 2012 as far as I can see. I love her Bewitching series and would love to read more.

OKAY… so far I’ve searched and searched for updates or news on Madelyn Alt, and have found nothing in regards to the series being completed, that missing book, or what is intended (and where the author is). Last posts were back in 2012… I will keep an eye out for sure!

GILLIAN SHIELDS <— Beatrice asks: “Wondering what happened to Ms. Gillian Shields as well… Been waiting around for 3 years for a paperback release on her 4th (and last) book in the Immortal series… Could very well be the publishers’ fault as well (I’m looking at you Katherine Tegen Books)”

UPDATE! Well, from what I’ve found online (dated 2014), it appears she’s a Drama teacher in a school!

“Gillian Shields, who has recently started to teach drama at the school, donated signed copies of some of her novels to the school library.”

But I don’t see book #4 in paperback format yet, either…

JULIE HOCKLEY <— Oh YES I went crazy for one of this author’s books (Crow’s Row), and we waited and waited for book #2 (Scare Crow:A Crow’s Row Love Story). And she finally released it (she had a baby right around the whole book #1 timeframe 😉 so that explained the delay in a followup to the series). It looks like many are now waiting for #3. But! I’ve found some of her responses in regards to upcoming releases:

Ashley asks: I have books by Linda Pohring, Christie Anderson, Julie Hockley, and April Brookshire which I love and have re-read but they too have also fell off the face of the earth and I’ve been wondering what happened. Can you check them out?

And the author replied to the same genre of question on her Facebook page (back in March 2016):

“Sorry all no updates in terms of Book 3. Still trying to fit writing in with all the other stuff. I foolishly thought that I would have more time to write as the kids hot older…”
