UPDATED!!! This is now officially a “reader recommendations” list of this genre!! π
Bethany has some extra reading time on her hands and she has a craving. It’s taboo, forbidden AND controversial (and sometimes even creepy!!) but maybe you can help?
Hey Maryse!
I have a week off and need desperately to fall into a book black hole and was hoping to get some suggestions π
I’m looking for books that have an ‘other woman’ aspect to them. Either stalkery female or just straight in your face “I want your man”Β I loved the other woman aspects from Kade – Chantal Fernando and Kristen Ashley’s mountain man series (the first two)
Any suggestions would be great, please and thank you
Has anyone read a good one?? List ’em below, and I’ll turn this into a forbiddeny recommendations list, too! π
Maryse: I’m going right off the bat with Tarryn Fisher’s “Bad Mommy“. That one was just plain awesome and definitely had the Other Woman aspect to it. Three different POV’s but ALL of ’em excellent and intense.
Tessa:Β The Opportunist (Love Me With Lies Book 1)Β by Tarryn Fisher
Lisa: Tarryn Fishers Opportunist series. Oh and F*ck Love.
Nay: Yes! The Opportunist series is a must for this!!!
Stacey: Agree! Taryn Fisherβs Love Me With Lies series (Opportunist, Dirty Red andΒ Thief) is so good. Each book is told from a different POV, and is not just a re-hashing of the same events. This series is excellent on Audible (especially the βother womanβsβ story, Dirty Red (Love Me With Lies Book 2).
Maryse: Stacey, that is one of my all time favorite series.
Theresa S:Β Tiffany Snow writes love triangles. Good author. Andrea Smith writes some goodies you might like
Lauren:
- Mine, Not Hers (True Love Book 1)Β by Betsy Anne
- Finding Our WayΒ & Staying On CourseΒ by Ahren Sanders <— “Staying on Course is the sequel to Finding Our Wayβ¦..both had the OW trying to get her man theme but Staying on Course made me so mad & sick & I just wanted to punch that OW so badβ¦..the 2 books have different OW in them. Iβm getting pissed just thinking about that book.”
- IntentionalΒ by MK Harkins
- Windows (Coming Home Book 1)Β by Emily Minton
- Whiskey Lullaby (Love Song Series Book 1)Β by Dawn Martins & Emily Minton
- Reed’s ReckoningΒ by Ahren Sanders (LOVED IT!!!!)
- Saved (Wanted Series Book 2)Β by Kelly Elliott (really, anything by Kelly Elliott has the obsessive psycho ex)
- Until Lilly: Until Lilly (Until Series Book 3)Β by Aurora Rose Reynolds
- Forged: A Devil’s Spawn MC NovelΒ by Natasha Thomas
- The Driven series by K. Bromberg
- Burnt: A Devil’s Spawn MC NovelΒ by Natasha Thomas (I SO hated the OW in this book!!!!!)
Jen C: Amore: Part 1 & Amore – Part 2 (2 parts) by Bella Jewel had the other women aspect to it with a bit of a twist.
Ashley: These arenβt so much βin your faceβ βIβm taking your man.β But they do have an βother womanβ aspect to themβ¦.
- RoomHateΒ by Penelope Ward (amazing).
- Maybe SomedayΒ by Colleen Hoover (one of my all-time favorites!)
- The Year We Fell Down: A Hockey Romance (The Ivy Years Book 1)Β by Sarina Bowen (Iβve read this about 5 times).
Lisa: Yes!! Maybe Someday.
Stacey: Oh, Avoiding CommitmentΒ by K.A. Linde! So ANGSTY. He actually asks her to convince the other woman to marry him!!!
Kooloo: Oh oh I just finished, βSomething So Rightβ by Natasha Madison definitely had the OWβ¦ and I definitelyΒ had a wanna slap a b*tch moment!!! Teehee
Sarah: A Modern Love StoryΒ by Jolyn Palliata. One of my favs!
Jeannie S: Something Borrowed: A NovelΒ by Emily Griffin β definitely the βother womanβ book, and yet I could sympathize.

This got me searching my library for a book I read a while back…..the h’s ex-wife is constantly calling him to come over, saying the kids are sick or crying for him, that she needs groceries, that something needs fixing in the house, or the kids are begging for a bedtime story from him, etc. He always goes because he’s a good father but the ex won’t let him bring the heroine so the h & h fight about it constantly….he sees that he’s being manipulated but won’t “rock the boat” because he’s afraid she’ll take his visitation away. The ex-wife comes & goes in & out of the h & h’s house all of the time. I can’t remember the book!!! I’m still looking but it’s driving me crazy.

Can you recommend any books like Surviving Raine by Shay Savage. I loved that book, but can’t find one similar with an asshole guy turned better.
Jennifer… that’s a GREAT idea. I don’t have that EXACT list but I found some that might be what you’re looking for:

Jennifer, I think Maryse has a list of jerky hero’s but I can’t find it.
Yoooo Hooo, Maryse! Help!
The first that comes to mind that I loved is Rush by Emma Scott.
I absolutely loved F*ck Love. I read the book once but have listened to the audiobook 3 or 4 times, it’s one that I keep going back to.
I canβt see White Picket Fence by Laura Branchflower on this list. It may not fit here but itβs OW and I loved it.
Hi Maryse.. Iβm looking for a book where the heroine was an escort I think. They met when hero attended an event. Hero was married to his friend, but fell in love with the heroine. Infact at one point, hero saw heroine at a restaurant with another man and flipped even though his wife was there. I believe heroine looked like someone who died earlier. Heroine at one time in the book met hero and his wife at the park. She also decided to move out of her flat or so in order to avoid hero.. Please can your avid readers help with the name?
