HAPPY FRIDAY EVERYONE!! Today’s Friday Finds is loaded in reader recommendations, ’cause I asked what everyone was reading (and how they were liking it) and boy did I get an AMAZING response.

So that said, I’m still working on this post for the next couple of hours, so keep checking back, ’cause it will be loaded in tried-and-true AWESOMENESS.

Karen: Reading the final book of Cassandra Clare’s Shadowhunters series, “City of Heavenly Fire’. It is amazingly good!

Lisa: I just finished Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate…so well-written and so heart-wrenching. I put it off for a long time because I knew it was going to take an emotional toll and it did…but it was worth it. 🙂

Tasha J: Before We Were Yours by Lisa Wingate- 5+++ stars for me. This one’s my favorite for 2017, hands down. I’ve never read Lisa Wingate before, but I’ll definitely be looking into more of her work. For ME (my opinion) it was as good as The Nightingale. COMPLETELY different stories, but all the feels were there for me…

Tammi: Ok, it was creepy but fantastic. What an absolute psychopath

Genevieve: I am reading Dallas, bk 2 Wildflower series, by rachelle Mills. I am loving it and Rya’s journey of growth so much. I can’t believe they are shifters, they are much more. She is me. 😍

Shaleen: …Dallas is book boyfriend material…

Teresa: Have you read Just The Sexiest Man Alive by Julie James?  A great scene in that one where the BFF is gobsmacked when the movie star walks in the heroine’s house.

Laura: Dark Waters (Flame and Blade 3) by Meredith Hart. A swoon worthy fantasy romance series with well-written and unique characters. September is too long to wait for the final book.

  • Burn (Fuel Series Book 3) by Ginger Scott <— LIVE!!! GINGER SCOTT’S LATEST!! TRILOGY CONCLUSION SO YOU CAN DEVOUR IT WITH GLEE! **Burn is the third and final book in the brother’s-best-friend, friends-to-lovers Fuel Series by Ginger Scott. This second-chance romance completes this angsty, steamy, new adult trilogy.

Danielle: I’m rereading Silver Silence by Nalini Singh.. And it’s fantastic.. Not my favorite of her Psy-Changeling series but it’s still a great book!

Elaina: I’m rereading Alpha Night in preparation for diving into Last Guard this weekend!

Danielle: lol.. That’s why I’m on Silver Silence, I decided to reread them all before getting into Last Guard.. Kinda wish I’d started with Silver Silence rather than Slave to Sensation though. I’m getting anxious for Last Guard lol

Elaina: oh I bet! I hadn’t planned a reread, but I just love Ethan and Selenka.

Aimee: Another tearjerker!!! I was bawling my eyes out!!! It was in the same series by Kelsey Kingsley it actually is supposed to be before the Scars and silver Linings

  • Real (Lost Red Wolves Book 2) by Amy Bellows <— LIVE!!! M/M ROMANCE!!
  • The Poison Thread: A Novel by Laura Purcell <— ALISSA LOVED THIS ONE! “...when she meets one of the prisoners, the teenaged seamstress Ruth, she is faced with another strange idea: that it is possible to kill with a needle and thread–because Ruth attributes her crimes to a supernatural power inherent in her stitches...”

Alissa: I just finished The Poison Thread. It was fantastic Gothic horror

Magan: That time I forgot what I was reading…OH its an Agatha Raisin book. Vicious Vet maybe? It fulfills my medical professional category for the library reading challenge. It makes me laugh

  • Red Thorns by Rina Kent <— SHANNON IS READING THIS ONE!! HE MADE HER TWISTED FANTASY COME TRUE!! “…Sebastian Weaver is the star quarterback and the college’s heartthrob. Rich. Handsome. Bastard. Everyone’s attention flocked toward him and all the girls dreamed to be with him. Not me. At least, not until he made a move on me. See, I thought I was stronger than Sebastian’s charms...”

Shannon: Red Thorns by Rina Kent … A dark story but so far it’s great! 🔥

  • Comatose (Vixen Bluff Book 1) by Catherine Black <— SUPER-BARGAIN & NANCY LOVED IT! NEW MALE NURSE caring for a coma patient (victim of her own doctor assigned to her that she was once in a relationship with… GASP!!)

Nancy: …When requested on the 3rd floor is when he meets the “Coma Girl” for the first time. Alex doesn’t realize that Shaye can hear and understand every word while still unable to wake up.

Every visit with this girl makes it feel like they have a connection. Every time he walks away from her, he can practically hear Shaye begging him to stay…”

  • Loyal Lawyer: A Standalone Novel by Jeannine Colette & Lauren Runow <— LIVE!! HE’S A LEO!!! Her ex causes her trouble, so she tries to call him but mis-dials… And Nancy 5-star loved this one too!

Nancy: …She had deleted his phone number & had dialed from memory. This is how she found Sebastian Blake, who happens to be one of the best lawyers in Philadelphia.

Sebastian Blake is perfect. He is everything she always wanted in a man…

  • Whispered Prayers of a Girl by Alex Grayson <— RECENT RELEASE & NANCY 5-STAR LOVED THIS ONE TOO!! HE’S RECLUSIVE & WANTS NOTHING TO DO WITH ANYONE & SHE’S A WIDOW STARTING OVER IN HIS TOWN…

“…This is where she has taken a teaching assignment and rented a home. Hoping for a new beginning.

  • A Crowe’s Song by Leddy Harper <— RECENT RELEASE & NANCY ALSO 5-STAR LOVED THIS ONE!!

Nancy: …They met one Fourth of July on a dock that belonged to Black Bird Resort. She was a guest and he was the son of the owner. They felt like they always knew each other and had an electrifying connection. They spend every moment they could together. In fact, it was like they were being coordinated by powers beyond their control.

It was as if Fate had schemed with Destiny and was devising a elaborate plot to bring them together. It was a slow beginning to their romance, but that first kiss was a life changing first kiss. Regardless of how either of them felt, it would not change the fact that she couldn’t stay and he couldn’t leave…

Terttu: Currently reading BB Easton’s Suit and I just got to tell you that I’m loving these individual books off these 4 men and I’m still crying my eyes out and have a lump in my chest because of the first one. So so so goooood! 👌

Yes I read this its brill…like a swap; one is a famous singer and the other sibling owns a bar…this book is about the singer who swaps with her identical twin and falls in love with the President of the MC who wants to buy her bar (but its not her bar its her sisters!!) …she has a stalker too…the second book is out in early September re the other sister and her escapades as she goes in her sister’s place to sing in Vegas…good…

Watched Jungle Cruise on Disney+ and it was AWESOME! Highly recommend. 😋
Also, looked up how to make the blue crabs, and borrowed a steamer and thing for the propane tank to cook them. Just gotta bring a boatload of newspapers and watch plenty of videos on how to pick them apart. I feel a little confident. Lol!
Now, back to working.
Not totally sure which book I want to bring on vacation. Like, finishing one sounds good. But maybe I just want to do something light? 🤔 I’m being practical and only doing 2 of different genres, cuz I doubt I’ll sneak in a lot of reading time.

My favorite is soft shelled crab. Every time I go somewhere that has them, that’s what I order. SOOOOOO YUMMY (and so weird that I’m eating a crab, shell and all!)

I finished another book by Catherine Black (New to me author) : Savage! My review: SAVAGE by Catherine Black is one of the most original books I have ever had the pleasure of reading. There is heartbreak and sadness with plenty of angst. I was laughing at times, too! Skyler Kassamali & Reed Stanley make the most odd couple, I’ve ever read about! Skyler was raised in a commune & was a modern day hippie. Made her own clothes, grew their own vegetables, and made their own soap and shampoo. Reed was technology addicted and had worked as an IT technology manager. His cell phone seemed glued to his hand, but it must not have been. Because Skyler grabbed it out of his hand and threw it out the car window! They were so very different personalities, except they were both so sad and broken people.

Skyler only knew the life she had inside the commune, with her parents and the rest of the loving people that lived there, too. She had a best friend that had always been her person. May had made Skyler her person, too! They were inseparable, until one day May found a boy on the outside. She fell madly in love, and married him. Then the unthinkable happened. May died of cancer, and died holding Skyler’s hand. May made her promise to leave the commune and find someone of her own to love. Skyler listened and left in one of the commune’s few cars. Only taken a few belongings, and her two non-pets! The one was Skyler’s three foot python named Bert, and the other was May’s opossum named Ernie. Yes! Named from character’s on Sesame Street.

Reed had hit the very darkest point in his life. He had a near-death traumatic experience. He just wanted to go back home to Vixen Bluff, Texas. So he quit his job, gave away his apartment, and rented a car for his long trip home. Things weren’t working out well. When he was in a station to use the much needed washroom, someone stole his rental car. Things change drastically for both Reed and Skyler, when he sits down in front of her in a small roadside diner. She has a car and on a road trip to nowhere, so she offers Reed a ride. The story almost ends there, when he goes to get in her car and sees her other two passengers, Bert and Ernie. He finally does get in the car, so the story did continue.

The new SEP just came in at the library, but going to pick it up next week.
Time to choose from August’s tbr. Waffling between Bewitching by Jill Barnett with I’ve heard about for years, one of those beloved in the community books, and has been on my tbr for years. I even somehow managed to buy it on both Kindle and Nook. I’m guessing Kindle was a free or 1 dollar type thing that I used to one click without thinking about. It’s a HR with some magic/fantasy elements.
The other is Winter’s Orbit by Everina Maxwell. It is a Space opera (never quite sure what that means) with a marriage of convenience, I mean that just sounds fun.
