Yep… my TBR list is outta control. And for awhile I had a “book-Dom” (you know… the imaginary kind) that kept me in line with my reading. Tried to keep my whole crew in line with their reading. But apparently, he’s only so much “Dom” and we all… well. We were a bunch of bratty readers. He couldn’t handle the whole bunch of us, and while we WERE sticking to our TBR list for a week or so… a month? He (they – we had multiples taking shifts 😛 )… left us to our own devices. 😉
We can’t stop *squirreling*!!!
Amy: *sigh* At this rate, my Book Dom will be needing a new paddle by Christmas along with a stuffed squirrel.
Maryse: Which is whyyyyyyyyy we have the Book-Doms. Although we’ve been ignoring them lately. They’re probably spanking each other right now. Oh! *snort*!!!!!!!!
Amy: Book Doms spanking each other? *snorrrrrrrt* Shhhhh…you’re gonna get us all in trouble with them. *giggle* But what a visual!!! Oh, crap…did they hear us?? *hiding behind Maryse*
Amy: I have *multiple* series sitting on my Kindle app waiting TBR, and I have no idea why. Maybe it’s like you said about waiting for the right time to get lost in the book. Or it’s probably just that I am extremely undisciplined in sticking with my TBR list. Yeah, that’s what it is. *gives one-finger salute to Book Dom*
Jean: “Gives one finger salute to Book Dom”……blahahahahaha!!!! Love it!
Linda: I don’t think even borrowing a book Dom could intimidate me at this point!! I’m too far gone!!! X
Jean: It’s all good! We enable each other and it makes us feel better when we 1-click like crazy! Where have those Book Dom’s been?
Maryse: Yes… a big bunch of enablers here for sure. One-click ebook hoarders. We have book-doms, but they appear to be otherwise occupied.
Jean: I don’t know where the book doms have been lately because I think we’ve all been really out of control!
Amy: I don’t think I’ve ever needed reading buddies this badly before. Roll call! Laura…check. Jean…check. Fabi…check. Amy (me!)…check. Maryse…wait a minute! Maryse is ditching!!! Ooooooh, I’m gonna call her Book Dom!
Jean: Like you Maryse, I am a sucker for military men so I’m VERY interested in Captured!! But I swear I am going to read How to Kill a Rock Star 1st and then Wild Side and then Offsides and then Captured…..ugh! We’ll see if I stick to that order! Book dom??
Maryse: I’LL be your book Dom today, Jean!!!! Rock Star!!!!! There. Done. *cracks whip*
bev: Maryse read Eleanor & Park. Maryse, sorry that sounded bossy, lol.
Maryse: LOL bossy is fun! We all know my book-dom disappeared,
And then half of my “OMG-I-GOTTA-READ-THIS-NEXT” reads fell lower and lower as I added more and more to my TBR and then… they were forgotten.
So I made a new list. I gotta “book-Dom” myself (or you guys can help). 🙂 Although y’all ARE a bunch of enablers too. *snort* Of course there’s my 2015 Reading Challenge list that I AM sticking to, but there’s my “main” TBR list that I needed to sort.
So here is my latest… and why. P.S. These ARE NOT in “order” – I’ll choose by mood. 😉
The Ground Rules by Roya Carmen<— UPDATE AWESOME I READ IT!! Okay I know this one is a BRAND NEW RELEASE so I’m cheating by putting it at the top of my TBR list (since this is me pulling unread oldies-but-goodies back up, BUT OMG the reactions for this book had me DESPERATE to read it NOW. So I am. SO there. Book-Dom. *snort* 😛 And Steph says: “I bought Ground Rules yesterday afternoon, wrote a review this morning. So so so good. I really fell in love with the characters. All of them. I kinda wished they would just all end up together, one big happy family. lol~” and Diane loves it too! “it was SO good! Finished at 2am, could not put it down or sleep. It totally felt like Indescent Proposal (remember with Robert Redford?!) Gah! So good, I haven’t stayed up all night to read since last year lol”- The Blood & Roses Series Box Set by Callie Hart <— It’s been on my list FOREVER… but it’s ’cause I heard the “Z” in this one will remind me of the ULTIMATE “Z” (from BDB), and you know me. I’m ALWAYS looking for that feeling again. Tracy says: “I am in the throes I of reading the Blood and Roses series by Callie Hart and I can’t believe how much I love Zeth! He may even be up there with Zsadist for me.”
- True North (The True Series) by Liora Blake <— Okay I’m cheating again, ’cause this one is fairly new, but I gotta. I just gotta!!! A few readers here were loving it, and “Wont” just enthusiastically chimed in! Wont: “I just finished True North, actually I’ve read it twice. I loved it. I laughed out loud so many times my husband finally asked what was so funny! Truly an exceptional first book. The only down side is I want more of this couple. I know future books are connected, but I’m not sure that will be enough. Can’t wait until the second book is out!“
- The Vixen and the Vet (a modern fairytale) by Katy Regnery <— I hear this one is right up my alley. Reclusive scarred ex-military man… This is one of Nancy’s ABSOLUTE favorites and Julie loves it too! “I LOVED the vixen and the vet. Can’t wait to read her next one.”
- Darker Water (Once and Forever Book 1) by Lauren Stewart <— Speaking of Nancy… Nancy and Kandace went NUTS for this one, and I’ve been hearing amazing things about it from others too. So when Nancy posted: “I’m not going to tell you how much I liked The Vixen & the Vet again (Oh! I’m sorry I guess I just did) & her new book: Never Let You Go. I was in the mood for something similar & Oh My Goodness did I find it: DARKER WATER (Once and Forever) by Lauren Stewart. It is a standalone contemporary romance inspired by the Frog Prince. It caught my interest from page 1 & would have read in 1 day, but at 86% could not keep my eyes open, so finished 1st thing in the morning. I ran through all the emotions while reading from laughing & smiling to sad with tears running down my face & I got angry, too. One minute it was funny, sexy & then drama plus angsty. The dialogue was so good, too. I’m a new fan of Lauren Stewart.” I KNEW I had to put this on my “NOW TBR LIST”
- Station Eleven: A novel by Emily St. John Mandel <— ’cause I love “end-of-the-world” type thrillers. Fabi says: “I read Station Eleven too at Michelle’s suggestion. It was a slow start for me but once I got going with it I love love loved it.” and Michelle loved it: ” I think you will at least LOVE…maybe LOVE LOVE haha Station Eleven. It’s a change in pace but was so amazing it made my favorites from last year.” and MichelleS loved it too! “STATION ELEVEN made your list? yay yay yay…. I loved that one. Another great Sci-Fi / dystopian recommendation from Michelle. I talked about that one to anyone who would listen. Amazing.“
- Signal Bend Series by Susan Fanetti <— I hear this WHOLE biker series gets better and better with each book and are addictive as heck. And then there’s a sob-fest halfway through (or the last one? I don’t wanna know!!)
- THERAPY <— My BFF says this is an absolute must-read and I KNOW… looking at those reviews… YES!!!!! And Amy LOVES it too (this is her “peanut-read” for me: “*writes Therapy on peanut* Hey Maryse, I got a peanut for your friend Sherry to throw at you! Oooooh Maryse, did you say you’re thinking about Therapy? Finally?? I can’t wait to see what kind of feels that *you* get from it. “
- Shark Bait (Grab Your Pole Book 1) by Jenn Cooksey <— YA but EVERYONE who reads it loves it! Aleah says: “I just finished shark bait today and it was ah-may-zing! You are going to love it” and Melanie agrees: “he Grab YourPole series has easily become one of my favorites”
- Elements of Chemistry: Parts 1-3 by Penny Reid <— SO often recommended since it’s release (it was turning people inside-out in romance-angst thrills) and Kelly just reminded me: “Maryse, why don’t you read Penny Reid’s Elements of Chemistry series? You will LOVE Martin.” and Jaime agrees: “i started elements of chemistry when the first one came out. It was really good and i was so excited for Heat to come out. Well let me tell you, Heat was hot! I loved it even more than the first book..“
Bang (Black Lotus #1) (The Black Lotus Series) by by E.K. Blair<— UPDATE AWESOME I READ IT!! HIGHLY recommended by one of my own favorite authors who wants to totally buddy-read this one with me (even though she’s already read it). And I became addicted to this author’s online videos one weekend when she spent an entire book-signing on video eating… I dunno… bonbons? and smirking and giggling into the camera like crazy. You just gotta see ’em. SHE. IS. A. KICK!!!! So I love her already.Eleanor & Park<— UPDATE AWESOME I READ IT!! bev said read it! Over… and over… and over again. And then!!! Some of our other crew-members read it and loved it, and the onslaught of peanut-gallery peanut throwing began. I READ IT!! It was awesome, and I can now cross it off my list. 🙂 YAY TBR lists!!! (my review)
- The “Peanut” List – Read these books or our “peanut gallery” will throw peanuts at you… 😉
- Five of the Latest Books on my TBR List, so I don’t forget…
- Fun 2015 Reading Challenge that I’m going to do. Just look at how cool this one is!
- YAY!! I’ve been tagged in the the “To Be Read Tag”, so here’s my very own list about my TBR list.
- Twenty book blurbs that are making me squirrel…
- My latest TBR List – These just might rock my world, and I want to read them SO bad!
- My current TBR (to be read) list… in pictures!
- My Current TBR List… 02-08-2013
- Up Next On My “To Be Read” (TBR) Reading List…
There are some good ones one this list for sure, but I would consider moving the Signal Bend series up the list. SO GOOD. Very gritty. It would be a nice transition back into the biker world before the new KA Chaos book. 😉
I think I’m gonna give True North a shot.
Any Rainbow Rowell book you read, you will LOVE!
“Over…and over…and over again.” Ha. Ha.
Lol 😉
I really liked True North. Vixen and the Vet was very sweet.
E&P is of course LOVE. And can be your HS book. Also, I believe there was a school that banned it. o_O
Station Eleven was very different than what I expected and just enjoyed it so.
Loved the quirky heroine in Elements of Chemistry. Her angry acoustic music, lol.
Bang & Blood and Roses I started and then, squirrel!
Also, both are darker more somber reads so mood, you know. Bang has a very hard scene to read. Neither are DNF, fully intend to go back.
Dark water is in my tbr, top 4 , or so. Top 2 are Landline and Jacked.
But the new chaos comes out soon and I’m so going to read it.
The Signal Bend Series is my most favorite favorite favorite MC series of all time! I love any and all things Susan Fanetti. LOVE HER!!! Isaac is MY most favorite bbbf of all time. 🙂
True North is on my tbr list too. May move that to next. Just finished Rundown, the sequel to Curveball. The H was a baseball player, but that was an insignificant part of the story. It was mainly a thriller/mystery. Really good, different story!! 🙂
*scrutinizes Maryse’s screen shot* Oh hey, look at those! I think I have every one of them except Seven Sons…and Attachments…and Vixen and the Vet…and…wait a sec, what is that aqua blue one? *GASP* You just HAD to leave Maybe In Another Life up there for us to see, didn’t ya?? Even though we can’t have it yet! I’m lodging a complaint with your Book Dom… 😛
Seriously though, I love it when you include prior conversations from here…y’all make it so fun to chat with! And I *love* that so many of us have the same ADD issue when it comes to sticking with our TBR lists! 😀
I like “20 Book Blurbs that are making me squirrel.”
I wonder if you get hooked on “Search Inside” because that’s what gets me many times. I read lots of them and sometimes I get carried away and read way too many of those things.
Every time you or your peeps recommend a book, make a list or spot a sale, my Kindle grows! This is not a bad thing at all. I am on a book binge of epic proportions and it feels sooooooo good! I am also booking up for a week at the beach. Bring them on!
Maryse I can recommend True North, Elements series and Darker Water by Lauren Stewart (loooved this one).
You’ve reminded me of a few on my tbr (good grief Ive had to make my tbr list its own folder on my kindle….there is literally no room in that folder for my book Dom either!!……Ive had to make room for him in the linen cupboard
Love this list & checking out any I have not read!
I’m interested in your review of ‘The Ground Rules”!! That looks very promising…
Anything by Rainbow Rowell is going to be amazing!!! You need to add her entire backlist to your TBR! LOL!
I think you know how I feel about Penny Reid, so I’ll just say that her Elements of Chemistry series is not what it seems, which is typical for Reid. At first you think you’re getting a funny, sexy, light hearted story, but sneakilly becomes a very timely and relevant coming of age story and the three part are very aptly named. It was torture to read in parts, but I’ve since read it again (all together) and still had a book hangover.
This list is great…. Many are in my TBR also. Loved Vixen and the Vet!! Really want to read Ground Rules, Blood & Roses series, and Station Eleven has been on my TBR for a long time since the recommendation by Michelle and Fabi.
“We were a bunch of bratty readers”……haha ain’t that the truth!
Maryse, don’t you love crossing something off your list? Feels like a real accomplishment right?
I’ve got True North on my TBR to read too. Blood and Roses was good. I’m torn about how good, though anything that is just so long it takes me four days to read is kind of nice. LOVED Elements series. <—- See capitals type love! I have Bang but never touched it. *shrugs* A lot of good book I've yet to touch. Heck, Jean's list finally has me reading Sea of Tranquility. (Yes, yes. Very good so far!)
Hey, I have Therapy! Again, a who knew?
I have Bang too Tessa and have heard great things about it….. Glad to hear you’re enjoying Sea of Tranquility!!!!
Totally. I saw it was written in 2012 so I think that helps. It was before the mass “I’m a hurt soul” formula books came out. Very good and very clever. *grins*
I just reco’d True North on my HEA blog — you will love it Maryse!
I can’t wait, Rachel!!! Maybe that’ll be my very next read. #2 just came out!! 😀
Tessa… if you ask me… Sea of Tranquility is the FIRST in our NA genre to be that kind of book… and still THE BEST.
Thanks for all the ❤️ for The Ground Rules everyone… that is so fantastic!
I’m getting really excited about SoT. That’s my next one after finishing FCH. I finished book 3 so I only have Mason and book 4 to go. If can’t remember the last time I read an entire series back to back. So good.
It really is that good. I’m surprised, especially with the blurb having me say Ho… hum… However, as you said, it’s the first, so the blurb can be excused. Fabi, you have to read it. I’ve had it for years and am loving it. At the same time, I’m glad I didn’t read it before, because there are so many like it now, that those wouldn’t have been as good as they were. This one tops them.
Also, Fabi… I have to… *writes FCH on a peanut* *throws it at Maryse* See, Fabi loves it too!
I’m thrilled with the favorites list Saturday blog posts. I have four books to read before the next one comes out. It’s almost as good as a buddy read and book Dom to keep me on track.
Fabi I finished the third book of FCH but took a break from it. I’m scared to read the 4th…..kinda loved how the 3rd ended and have some apprehension to begin book 4. Tessa, I might need a nudge here….did you read it?? You know my feelings for Logan so……
Really Jean? I’m dying to find out how they handle their long distance relationship considering they can barely keep their clothes on for five minutes at a time. *snort*
How’d you feel about the “big reveal” at the end of boom 3? I was like – “no s%#t Sherlock” – I knew that since book one. I can probably quote the line that “revealed” it in that book.
But the next one for me is Mason because that’s the order Tijan wrote them in. I have to admit I would have rather gone on to book 4 but I’m really funny about reading things in order and from the beginning.
I’m seriously loving this reading of each other’s favorites. The only thing better is when we do a group read or all of us read a new release at the same time.
I read Mason first because that’s how it came in the bundled set. Yes, I knew the big reveal before the end. Poor Logan! I do want to read the forth book but I hate long distance sh!t…..too much angst and causes me stomach pains (even though I love it as I’m reading it… We love that kind of torture don’t we?). Haha!!! Waiting for Tessa to convince me and reassure me before I start it!!
Jean, check out my spoiler FCH wish list on GB. *snort* I can’t post it here because there’s no way to hide it.
I’m loving Tessa’s reactions to SoT also since that one is next for me after FCH.
And I love when we all do buddy reads together!!! We have to figure out the next one……
*grins* Read book 4, Jean. If you didn’t love Logan before that one, you will by the end. And yes, I adore Logan. I’ve just always gone for the a$$, thus the Mason appeal, but Logan. I want him for a brother, I seriously do. He’s pure fun and wonderful. Read four if for no other reason than to help push Amy into reading four.
There are a few quotes about Logan and that Logan says that will tear your heart, yet after the end of book three, they aren’t what you’d think.
Tessa you probably just snagged Amy with the “tear your heart” comment. 😉
Just read your goodreads Fabi and ROFL! I love the fifth wish. Seriously, absolutely, insanely love wish five.
Logan did! I adored him before, but book four. Ugh. Tijan asked for favorite quote by her and Logan’s quote was mine. It says everything in that one quote.
*snort* yeah, I’m a little evil that way
omg omg omg I’m going to have a hard time reading Mason because I want to get to book 4 soooo bad.
I’m with Jean on team Logan. Besides, I wouldn’t dare with your book husband. Ha!
OK, last comment I swear…
Book 3: when she saw them at the tri-school weekend party…tore my heart out. Seriously thought I was going to puke. Ugh…still can’t picture it without getting nauseous. I mean, she just wasn’t in good shape, you know? Then to see that? Even knowing? Ugh ugh ugh
Yes, but again… Mason’s a jerk, and will protect her in jerkish ways. Pfft, I’m surprised more people don’t prefer Logan over Mason. Oh! And Sea of Tranquility’s Drew reminds me a LOT of Logan. Love Drew!
Ugh that made me sick too Fabi! Love your spoiler list on GR! Oh and I didn’t really have any editing issues in the books…… And they usually drive me crazy too…… maybe because I bought it as a boxed set and they fixed it up……
OK Tessa has me convinced to read book 4 since I already love Logan and she’s telling me I’ll love him more after book 4!!!! I’m excited now. Thanks guys!!!!!
Woot woot! Jean maybe we’ll end up reading book 4 at the same time.
Ah, Tessa, I was already sold on SoT, but *squeee* for Drew.
Tessa so happy you are loving SoT!!!!! I hope everyone reads it!
Sea of Tranquility…I agree with y’all about it being a “first” in the NA genre, and I think that’s why it stuck with me so much. Well, that and because it made my heart ache and was BEAUTIFUL!!!
Jean, that’s exactly why I’ve been putting off reading FFD!!! It *was* really difficult to read that part in book 3, but when Mason pretty much cut out certain someones? Oh man, that was freaking awesome!
“Tear your heart” <——- *perks up* I heard some magic words! 😛 Okay, I'm jumping into book 4 with you guys. 😀 I just have to finish up Razorblade Kisses…it's taken me longer than I thought it would but I'll gripe later about why that is. I KNOW y'all can't wait to hear that. *eyeroll*
OK just finishing up Throb and then I can start FFD……. hopefully tonight!!! Yay, mini book buddy read!!!!! I think I will need the support!
BTW, I really love Throb…..I had to read it first before Beat because I’m OCD like that. Now I can’t wait for Flynn’s story in Beat!!!
Alright, so I have an idea. Oh stop your groaning…I need your opinions! I’ve been feeling a little, I dunno, overwhelmed I guess (and guilty, maybe?) about all the unread books I have sitting on my Kindle app that I may never actually get to. So, I was thinking about setting up a GR account and adding all of my Kindle TBR books to it and then maybe using it as a book sharing opportunity of sorts for y’all?
What I mean is I will friend anyone from here (even the quieter ones!) and then if you see a book on my list and want to borrow it then I can loan it to ya! I know books can only be loaned out once so I would make a note if they’re not available for that anymore. What do y’all think? Good idea? Odd idea? Crazy-for-even-thinking-about-it idea??
That would be really nice of you Amy! I am like you too though… I hoard ebooks….i will lend mine to anyone but never borrow from anyone. I always have to “have” the book so i can go back for reference, to refresh my memory, or even a reread (although that rarely happens because of time constraints). Do you not have a GR account right now……because I will warn you it becomes very addictive!!
omg I’m so excited about book 4 now, even more than before. I have to read Mason first though, so y’all wait for me. I’ll try to hurry as much as possible and be ready by tomorrow. (another sleepless night)
Amy, that’s a cool idea. I loan mine out like Michelle suggested on Book lending.com but your idea of loaning to blog buddies is really cool. Uploading titles to GR is so easy if you have them on Kindle.
Oh, and Jean, Throb and Beat are so high on my tbr that I think they’re in danger of falling over. Like you, I can’t read Beat until I read Throb.
Wheeee – I have a committed line up of books to read (and finish).
Oh, and I sort of have my favorites list ready. 24! I could NOT get it down to fewer. 🙁 I tried and tried but couldn’t do it. As it is, there are a ton that are screaming at me.
Jean…I’ve gone to GR every now and then to look up series orders and such but I’ve never used it to track what I’ve read or rate books. I have a spreadsheet on my iPad that I use for that. 😉 And that is *exactly* why I never borrow books from people…I like knowing I have the book in case I ever want to go back to it, even if only to relive a scene. Okay, I’ll let y’all know when I have it set up! 😀
Fabi, I’m at 80% of RK so I’ll probably be starting FFD at the same time as you…YAY for buddy reading!
Oh good. I can’t get lower than 20. I thought that was pretty bad. Amy, just seeing your opinion on books will be fun. Loaning is awesome too, but I admit. I love knowing what people’s opinions are on a book.
Amy, that’s nice. I’ve thought about how with ebooks you can’t pass on or donate. I honestly want to go through and delete the ones I dnf or did not like. But that doesn’t feel as good as donate to library, thrift, or exchange.
One thing still not reading so not buying either right now. Plus have scribd so just fill up that library instead, lol.
I am just here for the comments!!!
LOL!! 😛 😛
hahaha Lee
It’s ridiculous. I decided to sit and read but instead I’m sitting watching Say Yes to the Dress. And on my kindle instead of a book open I’m looking at
https://hookedonhouses.net/2015/06/09/faerie-door-cottage-in-wiltshire/
*sigh*
Oh my…
*tries to swallow past lump in throat*
I can’t…I’m just…my heart…
*deep breath*
I can’t start crying ’cause I’m on my way out the door but…I wanna cry so badly right now. I NEED to cry. And I still have 10% left. My gripes about this one left me SO unprepared for what all just happened. I was ready for what happened in the prologue but definitely wasn’t ready for everything else. That whiskey advisement in the blurb is no %&$#@&$ joke.
Bev…that cottage is my new happy place…and I’m heading there now…
Amy your loaning books idea is nice. I feel your guilt over having so many books on my kindle and especially on my tbr. Good idea!
Oh, if it makes you need to cry, that has to be something really awful that happened. Can’t wait to hear your gripes and more about RK.
I started True North and so far I’m really enjoying it. 🙂
You quoted me on “Ground Rules!” 🙂 I did love it so much. I read “Arsen” right after (a having an affair book, not consensual) and loved it as well. Maybe even more? Both were excellent and I 5 star both.
I’m reading the Blood and Roses set now and I’m really enjoying it. Can’t believe it was only .99! It’s also nice to read something that I didn’t finish in a day.
I read Sea of Tranquility a long time ago when first released and loved it. Reading all of these comments reminded me of another book I read around the same time and highly recommend. I probably loved it cos its set in Australia near Byron Bay….but Id love some of you to read it too…..heartbreaking and beautiful with an awesome twist. And one of those books that you think back about after you’ve finished.
The Inevitability of Stars by Kathryn R Lyster
Amy and Jean, when are y’all starting book 4? I’m at 77% with Mason. So glad I read it, its so good! I’ll be ready for 4 either tonight or tomorrow at the latest.
Amy, lol. I’m guessing Manny is getting hugs tonight.
Doesn’t it look like the sweetest place? It looks out of a fairy tale. And I guess you can rent it for vacations.
Maryse all reading and loving it. Rub it in Maryse. Rub it it. 😉
And I’m thinking that is not a me type book. It makes me anxious looking at it as I’m guessing delves into repercussions.
Oh, and looking at your screen shot, Attachments…that was one great AUDIO read. The narrator really does a great job with this book. And since much of this book is in email format, it’s a great format when you have 10 or 15 minutes to stop and start.
Please think about bumping Bad Romeo and Broken Juliet, it read like one book and it is such a satisfying read. I kept ignoring all the great reviews when Bad Romeo came out, not sure why, but once I finished I thought, ” why the hell did it take me so long to get to this book!” Awesome books.
Fabi, started a couple chapters but probably won’t get to read much tonight. It’s good so far though!!!!
Jackie, glad to hear that about Bad Romeo and Broken Juliet. I’ve been really wanting to read them!
Cool, I just finished Mason. Dang, that was good. But it needed to be read after the first 3 books (imo) to get the full Mason and Logan effect.
I may go ahead and start a few chapters of FFD tonight too.
Aaamyyy, where aaaaare youuuuu?
Fabi i have NO reading time these days, so jealous you’re enjoying, hoping to start soon
I’m finally back!!! 😀 I have 10% left of RK and have no idea how it’s going to turn out…and yep, I have Manny sitting here ready for a snuggle in case it continues the way it was going when I left off. I’ll be starting FFD tonight or tomorrow morning (as long as work cooperates with me and is slow ;)), and I am so ready to catch up with that trio!
Jackie, that is *exactly* what I thought about Bad Romeo and Broken Juliet…they were like one full book split into two. I didn’t care for how by the end of BR we still didn’t know just what he had done to obliterate her heart in the past (since it was a present-past story), but maybe that was just because I was hoping for more of the backstory by the time BR ended. But I will say that when all of the “past” finally was told it was quite the gut clencher! Jean, you DEFINITELY want to give those two a try!
Lisa, I can’t find it on Amazon… 🙁
I’m reading Blood and Roses right now and it’s so good!!! I love Zeth!!! Think I’m on the third one… a little way past 50%!! Hoping to finish tonight so I can be ready for tomorrow’s list!! More than water might be my next read.
Oh, and my friend just sent this link to me…some of them are bittersweet and others are just plain sweet, but if you can make it through without being teary-eyed then you are just a tough nut to crack!
https://www.viralnova.com/touching-photos-gallery/
*sighs* Finished Sea of Tranquility. Thank you Jean for kicking me in the butt enough to read it. I loved the ending, the last line, and ooooh, that picture at the gallery. I wanted to punch someone! Ugh.
Then the photos. Okay… yes, I teared up. More than once. Also, I looked up Lisa’s recommendation. Only the paperback is available in the US. It’s an Australian book only.
Um….thanks for sharing?????
Dogs are the best.
#11 is too hard to look at.
I think I’m in love with that rugby player.
I agree. 11 hurt the worst.
Amy,
Try this link. It up for $12…no wait that AUD no UD…anyway its a bit $$ but sooo worth it.
https://www.amazon.com.au/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=The+Inevitability+of+stars
Let me know what you think cos I still think about that story sometimes and would love to discuss. Its just a bit different to the usual rock star/hockey player/manwhore/billionaire/step brother thing.
Oh…just read Tessa’s comment. Didn’t realize you cant download Aussie books.
I have a hard copy of this book and will happily post if you want it Amy. As long as you pass it along to the next book nut!!
Tessa!!!! So happy you loved Sea of Tranquility…… Yes the picture in the gallery, the photos, and THAT LAST LINE!!!! Just unforgettable right? And so many feels!!!
Now Lisa has me on a crazy mission to find the book she recommended!!!!
Only 10% into FFD but already upset with the turmoil going through Sam’s head……. won’t be able to get back to it until tonight.
I just started it this morning Jean. I took a little TV break last night since I’ve been reading nonstop for days. But already I agree with you. She acts like the guys are stupid. They’ve led a traumatic life. Neither one of them are going to allow something crazy to happen. If Tijan takes it there, then idk, but I think I’ll lose a little respect for the story. We’ll see how she spins it but I’m with you in not liking Sam’s train of thought.
Oh good, it’s not just me Fabi!!!
*grins* Sam is nutty. And yes, loved SoT. It’s one I can’t even write something on Goodreads for a few days just to make sure I feel the same way.
Lisa, we can buy the book hardback? Paperback? I forget. It’s 35 dollars to do so, though.
I’m finally back from vacation – got to check in a few times, but feel like I missed so much!!
This is your TBR list? It’s so short!!! Okay – let’s see – I read True North – it was good, not super memorable though (I liked it while I was reading it and had to look up what it was about to write this, and I only read it a few weeks ago!).
Station Eleven is one of my top reads this year so far. It’s so DIFFERENT. I remember all about that one, though. And I find myself recommending it a lot and talking about it a lot.
I read the samples for a few up there (Signal Bend, Vixen and Vet) and they didn’t grab me enough for me to buy the books. And the others’ I’ve never even heard of – so going to check those out.
Welcome back MichelleS. Did you enjoy Hawaii? Is that a stupid question? Lol
I enjoyed it very much, Fabi!
A few more notes on your TBR list:
“Therapy”….. my amazon account says I bough this book last June – so I guess I read it and forgot about it…. hmmm….. I wonder why?
“Seven Sons” – read this one in January – can’t remember much about it either – it was so short – a novella – and I didn’t buy the next book – so…. hmmmm….. I wonder why?
Do I need to revisit these???
I respectfully disagree with the ones who liked the SIGNAL BEND SERIES. I don’t have issues with gritty plotlines. Usually, the darker the better for me. BUT, this author just brutalized EVERY single character on this series. It looked like she wanted to top Madeline Sheehan!!. Big fail to me. I love Sheehan’s books and what make them successful is not how much violence and gore they have but how the characters you like make it after going through all the grief, which doesn’t happen with Signal Bend. After THAT book I just wished a mass murder so they all would stop suffering. To top it all, she gives you the best biker Hero ever to just…. I won’t give spoilers but it was brutal and awful.
I won’t ever read anything by this author. I don’t trust her as writer. No matter how good you write, if you don’t let your readers ‘keep’ something by giving your characters a little bit of hope, what’s the point to read your ‘romance’?
Sorry for my rant but I still hurt and deeply regret reading this series.
Oh Lisa, how sweet of you!! I would love that since I am so antsy to read it now! I’ll probably send you my address through Maryse and then I promise to send it to another lady who can’t wait to read it. I’m so excited! 😀
*GASP* MichelleS!!! If you read Therapy, how could you have forgotten it?!? That book is all kinds of messed up!
Oh wow! I just finished Therapy ….. Best book I have read all year. 5 stars for sure!
The Blood and Roses series is AH-MAZING. Like AH-MAZING, AH-MAZING. Zee is incredible. I cant stop reading. But be ready, its NAUGHTY!!!!!
I just finished the Blood and Roses series too, Meredith!!! And I agree.. It was AWESOME! Zee… Swooooon!! I’m glad I read it as essentially one big book since each novella within the series ends on a cliffhanger, so it was nice to just keep going. I’ll definitely be reading Violent Things. Since that looks like it may be a series too, I’m going to hold off for a little bit and see what other bbf’s tickle my fancy! *snicker* 😉 I think I’ll pull a suggestion from here or the Peanuts list.. I’m thinking FCH series (since a small group on here are loving it).
Andee, Mason from FCH will *definitely* tickle your…fancy. 😛
Ahhh reading up on back posts since I missed them on vacation and now I’m scared big time with your comment Alma! I like book 1 a lot so far. Isaac is amazing but oh no it sounds like it all goes to hell in a handbasket! What book do I need a box of tissues for?! I need to prep myself…
